Come On Blue!
August 22nd, 20098:21 pm
Let’s just say I’m pulling extra hard for him tonight and hoping Bobby is taking notes. McFann
Good luck with that…
jeffrey d., and I’ll bet Burnett has had more of those very bad outings than Lowe has this year.
"Chef" Tim Dix
August 22nd, 20098:22 pm
Those who wanted Cody Ross: .188 w/ 2 strikes. Yikes!
Then there’s Colorado rookie Dexter Fowler, the Atlanta native who’s hitting .274 with 27 doubles, seven triples, four homers, a .374 OBP and 26 stolen bases….
The FLA SUN announcers have been talking about the no-no for at least an inning now…so, if it going to get jinxed…it’s already been thrown out there. Heck, these guys went so far as to talk about the last no-no for the Braves…. Kent Mercker in ‘94….
And the no-no is over.
There goes the no-no.
August 22nd, 20098:23 pm
I’m Going for Happ as well…They would be below us in the standings if it wasn’t for Happ
Escobar for Supreme Court
Did anyone just see those numbers they put up?
Big Red with the carni rosin bag juggling.
August 22nd, 20098:24 pm
We’d be below the Mets if not for Hanson.
P-Lentz is Back!
Where Were U last night after that 1/2 assed performance in the ninth?
Did U get Bozo’d or were U occupied…?
Why did ron have to say that?
David..(Athens, AL)………I was out of town for a couple of days and the fan in my laptop went dead. I just got back home.
Why Does Waste Helms Only hit against us…?
Nova Scotia Steve
Lucky that wasn’t a 3-run bomb
August 22nd, 20098:25 pm
Dan, you one uggla mother fugga!!!
Helms always seems to get big hits against us.
This is starting to look like the 4th inning of the first game of the Mets series on Tuesday. Hopefully Hanson can get this last out.
That’s what happens when you don’t throw 1st pitch strikes and walk people
August 22nd, 20098:26 pm
gdubber: Right on Hanson but how bout Wren?
August 22nd, 20098:27 pm
KJ one Word Jump!!!
I’m getting Flashbacks of that Game in New York…!
Gotta Stop the Bleeding
Nova Scotia Steve-Doesnt matter now
So, how many runs does Coxy let Hanson give up tonight?
The Braves could have had Wes Helms at the first of last season. Phillie released him and the Marlins signed him. He is as valuable as OI.
Regardless, taking a no-hitter to the fifth inning against a team as hot as these Marlins is impressive. Remember, they’ve had 10 or more hits in 16 of their past 17 games.
I think the ROY is between Kung Fu Panda Sandoval of SF, Happ of PHI, and Hanson of ATL
Big BOOT by Chipper! Chalk up another error for the team leader!
August 22nd, 20098:28 pm
IN HIS GLOVE
Well, it looks like the Braves offense needs to get re-started.
DAMN……..almost nice catch by Chipper.
dangit, would you guys shut up about hanson as ROY!
You’ve gone and jinxed him!
Go get him Bobby! He’s done!
August 22nd, 20098:29 pm
The Marlins always feel they’re in a game, you can tell. We need a few more, for sure.
Giants leading the Rockies 3-1. We need to hold on.
AWFense Time to get back to work…!
Don’t pull that 1 inning and done Shyt Like you guys did in New York!
August 22nd, 20098:30 pm
Well its a little “tenser” now…or as Joe Simpson calls it “a ball-game”
At least we have the lead now. Time to score some more runs. 4 runs in the first, and nothing else for the rest of the game would pretty much be a repeat of Tuesday, when they went scoreless in the last 6 innings of the game.
Just a theory….Chipper is upset over the death of his gay mexican lover down in Texas.
How else can you explain it?????
Snyder the Architect
Yep, let’s restart the offense and get some of these runs back…
Giants up 3-1 on Col top of the 2nd…
August 22nd, 20098:31 pm
UNCBrave, Sandoval and Happ both have been in MLB before ‘09. Not that it means much, but it still aggravates me.
Yeah, I know.
“The Marlins always feel they’re in a game, ”
Yeah and when the Braves get down by 3 or more they call it a Night
My blood Pressure is going up…!
You have no offense in the lineup tonight yet they manage to get you four runs! With the lineup the Braves put on the field tonight, that’s gravy!
So what does Hanson do? He tries to give it all back!
C’mon Tommy! Get your head outta your a## and bear down!
UNCBrave: Pablo Sandoval isn’t considered a rookie, so he’s not eligible for Rookie of Year.
He had 145 at-bats last season, 15 more than the max to make him a rookie this season. Otherwise, I think he’d win going away. No, I know he would.
Hey, we got some runs early…you wanted us to keep working?
August 22nd, 20098:32 pm
C’mon Paul, a one run lead feels like we’re down two… the way we’ve been hitting.
well looks like its gone from a stress free enjoyable game to another nail biter.. this team is wrecking havoc on my blood pressure.
Anybody else notice that the end of the no-hitter coincided with Lentz joining us?
August 22nd, 20098:33 pm
You know, I understand the concerns about rookie innings, uncharted waters for Hanson, yada yada yada…
Don’t know why, but I think I go to the whip with this stud.
August 22nd, 20098:34 pm
Uggh Offense Wake up…!
August 22nd, 20098:35 pm
David O’Brien- Do you know when last year he got the call up?
Yea I hope we dont let them scoring get to us like it always seems to.
“Now we got a ballgame”
Yeah, I liked it better before.
I’m waiting for Ron Gant to call this Sanches guy the best reliever “in all of baseball”
August 22nd, 20098:36 pm
For some odd reason,
I don’t think four runs is going to be enough tonight.
Good to see the Braves ease back on the gas pedal just a bit though, to make this interesting. Ho-hum games are boring anyway.
NO MORE COX OR CHIPPER!
Of course, the offense has completely shut down.
Seriously, I’m gonna lose it if Bobby and His Posse find someway to blow another game that was in the Bag!
Especially after that 1/2 Assed effort in the 9th inning of last night’s game
And now for something comepletely different…
Who wants pie?
August 22nd, 20098:37 pm
Has hunting season started yet?
Tonight’s managerial decisions by Gonzalez would never happen by Cox. Cox would never have PH for his starting pitching in the 5th like that. Gonzalez does it…and he is rewarded with some runs. He has to use his bullpen a little more tonight, but hey, at least they are back in the game.
August 22nd, 20098:38 pm
Is it wrong that I am screaming at the TV during a preseason NFL game?
LOL, you were cold as ice on that last post…
Pie, gotcha pie right here….
Tie game……comin’ up!
August 22nd, 20098:39 pm
So what exactly did Cox do in the top of the fifth that you disagreed with?
Should he have pulled Hanson after the second hit he allowed?
Big Red has been getting squeezed tonight. I dunno why either, he’s been fairly accurate tonight
August 22nd, 20098:40 pm
Tim I can’t get anybody out Redding has one hit the Phils for four innings. Maybe we should start Acosta, Logan and Medlin this weekend.
Rob from SC
Got to stop walking people.
Bobby Hasn’t lost the game yet but if we don’t score no more tonight then I feel it coming
I can live with that walk… that is a dangerous man.
ThawkN: Total agreement.
Come on DP
August 22nd, 20098:41 pm
Call me negative. But it looks like we are pulling out the script for another loss tonight.
August 22nd, 20098:42 pm
Hey. I feel it coming, too.
Just not sure how you would hang the L on Bobby. That’s all.
It’s about time the other team is the one hitting into the DPs!!!!
That a way, Tommy! Great pitch to the come backer, and way to start the 1-4-3 DP!
August 22nd, 20098:43 pm
Nice grab by Hanson. Hanson should be able to get through 7 innings tonight.
Hanson’s faced more than three batters in only one inning.
August 22nd, 20098:44 pm
My pie will make you chill. How many slices you want?
I get Moylan up just in case, but let Tommy start the seventh. If he gets into any kind of trouble, hook em.
August 22nd, 20098:45 pm
Firetheoldfool: Geez, why would anyone call you negative?
Chipper just order pie. Let’s see what happens.
August 22nd, 20098:46 pm
Here comes Joe Simpson’s analysis of Chipper’s
I have a question. I’m not attacking anyone, I’m just genuinely curious…
For all of you guys that constantly predict failure, losses and meltdowns: do you actually enjoy watching the Braves? I seriously would like to hear responses. I’m not trying to be a smart-a**.
It just doesn’t seem (to me) that there’s much enjoyment in watching a good (not great) baseball team when you have that kind of outlook. I see the team’s flaws just like everyone else. But to contstantly see the negative in every inning/game just seems depressing.
August 22nd, 20098:47 pm
Good AB by Chipper to draw leadoff walk…
Say it with me now: “Dan, you one uggla mother fugga!”
Free pass w/ your order of pie.
firetheolfool – LOL…just the name man…hahaha
August 22nd, 20098:48 pm
ugh…I hate watching football games with TV screamers.
Watching Braves Baseball over the last 3 years has done it to us
Hoss With the SB, Nice!
Come On Esco!
August 22nd, 20098:49 pm
Damn Chipper get it
CrimeDog–Some fans (myself included) talk serious trash about the teams we pull for when things aren’t going well. Its just venting
Just a little single YE
Oh! LaRoche stinks! Get him outta the cleanup spot this minute!
No…wait! Bobby, I was kidding! Hold it…!
August 22nd, 20098:50 pm
My pie make-a-you-fly.
SF up 5-1 now
5-1 San Fran
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
