Then there’s Colorado rookie Dexter Fowler, the Atlanta native who’s hitting .274 with 27 doubles, seven triples, four homers, a .374 OBP and 26 stolen bases….
The FLA SUN announcers have been talking about the no-no for at least an inning now…so, if it going to get jinxed…it’s already been thrown out there. Heck, these guys went so far as to talk about the last no-no for the Braves…. Kent Mercker in ‘94….
Regardless, taking a no-hitter to the fifth inning against a team as hot as these Marlins is impressive. Remember, they’ve had 10 or more hits in 16 of their past 17 games.
At least we have the lead now. Time to score some more runs. 4 runs in the first, and nothing else for the rest of the game would pretty much be a repeat of Tuesday, when they went scoreless in the last 6 innings of the game.
For some odd reason,
I don’t think four runs is going to be enough tonight.
Good to see the Braves ease back on the gas pedal just a bit though, to make this interesting. Ho-hum games are boring anyway.
Tonight’s managerial decisions by Gonzalez would never happen by Cox. Cox would never have PH for his starting pitching in the 5th like that. Gonzalez does it…and he is rewarded with some runs. He has to use his bullpen a little more tonight, but hey, at least they are back in the game.
I have a question. I’m not attacking anyone, I’m just genuinely curious…
