LaROCHE FOR CL—
Oh, that’s right.
August 22nd, 20097:28 pm
Another Giants win tonight (combined with a bounce-back win tonight from the Braves) would really tighten things up.
We are making Cy Nolasco work…That is a good thing…!
Escobar for Supreme Court
Hold on guys I cant post gotta get this run in…
Rob from SC
August 22nd, 20097:29 pm
I am not a big fan of Kelly johnson, but there are a lot of things he does well on the baseball field. Unfortunately he is too inconsistent
I think that is ultimately why Norton is a liability. He is obviously having a poor season at the plate, but when you have a guy that can only play first base in an emergency, it really hurts on a night like this.
Owchy Esco – plesae be okay.
Volstad is pitching. Maybe not for long though.
There WE GO ESCO!!!!
Escobar is a stud!
Nova Scotia Steve
Yunel…you need to play my friend…AND BABOOM
August 22nd, 20097:30 pm
See, Yunel can thank me later. All I had to do was write about it and put it in blog headline.
Esocobar is our best player. Period
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Who called this the worst lineup ever?- show yourself!
Yessss! Esco, you were due!
TOLD YA Im gunna work it tonight!
Escobar is our best player
I called Ballgame first so I win the prize!
My fault Crime Dog…! I stand corrected
“Feast or Famine Offense” Lives on!
The DOB curse comes through again.
Well…not for Chipper I guess.
ummm, this works…
i agree. not only is fourth a perfect spot for adam post all-star breaks…brian is more suited for the fifth spot. if chipper and escobar could getting going soon… chipper, mcann, laroche, and escobar at 3, 4, 5, and 6 is scary for opponents.
escobar must have heard me… two run shot! yes!
August 22nd, 20097:31 pm
I have no idea how he hit that pitch out of the ball park.
DOB……very appropo that DBT’s grace the blog song. Braves are on the backburner tonight as I am heaxding to see Hood, Cooley , and the boys( not forgetting Shanna). Sent you a shotof the National. Action shot later. Pull the Braves through. Downing a few pints atPenny Lane Pub ready to go Truckin.
See what happens when your cleanup hitter doesn’t hit into a DP.
Yunel is def. our best player
lol DOB, good job.
Brandon from Warner Robins
well what did he do?
CY Volstad getting Slapped!
This what we need especially after last night’s game and our team is beginning to resemble as MASH unit
August 22nd, 20097:32 pm
Maybe its the Chip Carey jinx
Escobar has been struggling only because the guys in front of him were struggling and no one was on base. He gets back on track when there are men on base. Simple.
(When everyone is healthy.)
The Bird and Indian
What’s even better is that this guy is going to have to throw 35+ pitches to get out of the first inning.
DOB See, Yunel can thank me later. All I had to do was write about it and put it in blog headline.
You gonna do a Blog tomorrow? ‘Cause I got some good ideas for content…
Those of you watching the game on tje Extra Innings package back me up… Thank God Escobar hit that home run. It’s the first play the Braves made they can’t blame on the home plate ump. For God’s sake shut up!!
aNOTHER UNI BOMB!!!
August 22nd, 20097:33 pm
We hit the magic 4 run mark already. Man, it would be nice to beat the Fish with McLouth, GA, Prado, and Mac out of the lineup.
8-45 while scoring 3 runs or less, that has to Improve epecially in the stretch un and in October
Man, the Braves are living right tonight.
Omg, what if Yunel gets injured? What happens? Can’t double switch, cause then Hanson comes out…
Luck be a lady tonight….lol.
Let’s hope we get these same “Banana shaped arcs against Nolasco tomorrow”…
But yeah CRUSH EM
Rick Flair is a funny Joe Simpsons original
McFann – in fairness, the runner was at second…
August 22nd, 20097:34 pm
WOW what happened there?
Speaking of double plays…
Good strategy – it’s all good.
Unbelievable. Come on DIAZ!!!
Diaz gets punked.
Hit-n-run hurts us there….oh well.
Poor base running my Matty.
August 22nd, 20097:35 pm
Yeah, Joe watched way too Much Dubya C Dubya Rasslin back in the old days of TBS…
I miss them days (tear)
August 22nd, 20097:36 pm
Yah, but he didn’t steal until the third pitch…
That’s probably it. When they’re batting during games when Chip announces, they’re too busy thinking “I sure hate that man. He’s SO annoying. And how bushy are his eyebro….”
Scott Hall was the man
Honourable mention to Kevin Nash as well
Escobar for MVP if we come back and make the play offs his RISP is the sickest stat ever
August 22nd, 20097:37 pm
Dan, you one uggla mother fugga!
Over the next three years who would you take over Escobar? Not many. Who would you takeover Chipper. Many more. Just sayin…..
August 22nd, 20097:38 pm
I liked Konnan from the Wolfpack. “Yo yo yo let me speak on this….”
I love Ron Gant, put him with JOe and Boog and we got some magic
Snyder the Architect
August 22nd, 20097:39 pm
Great first inning there…good to get Tommy some early runs…
I know, listening to these Marlins announcers on the MLB package is painful…these guys spent the WHOLE bottom of the 1st complaining about bloop hits and the 2-2 pitch to Laroche (which clearly looked a few inches off the plate and in) saying that it was in the same spot as Hanson’s 2 strike offer to Gload which to me looked to tail back and catch the inside black…
Hanson ain’t messin around tonight…no non-sense
Heyward doesnt get doubled up
I always wonder why everyone hates Ron Gant in the Booth…?
I like the change of pace…
I want to see BJ (B. Jordan) in there next sometime next year
Doc Holiday (August 22nd, 2009 6:38 pm): “Oh I get it, the fewer teams finish ahead of us we get to feel better?”
You got it!
(I never could understand when I was in school, and finished a race right after three guys that tied for first, why wasn’t I second????? They tried to tell me I came in 4th!!!)
No, of course it’s better ’cause we’ve already caught five teams, and now only need to catch three more.
Nut you knew that.
(You should oughta listen to Rocky better, don’t you think?)
August 22nd, 20097:40 pm
Nova Scotia Steve
The Outsiders and The Wolfpac were the best Throw in Vicious and Delicious as well
nWo 4 Life!
That was so mean…but funny.
Adam’s stats as a Brave this year are almost XBox stuff -
Coming into tonight:
18GP, .410BA, 2 2B, 7HR, 13BB, 15RBI, 1.294OPS…. and, of couse, he is adding to those numbers already tonight. Please Bobby….leave him in the 4-hole so that we can take advantage (or no lower that 5th).
August 22nd, 20097:41 pm
i’d say if the braves hold on to win then that’s all that’s needed to guarantee a win for philly and colorado tonight.
“Nut” = “But”.
I sure wish PTV would hire Boog. Does anybody really turn on the TV and go “Oh good. Chip Caray’s announcing.”?
Don’t forget Syxx-pac
Anyone’s better than Chip Caray
August 22nd, 20097:43 pm
Kelly Johnson since coming off the Disabled List.
I’m lookin for work mang
But when Syxx went to WWF and was part of a tag team with Kane, that was pure comic gold.
Dan, you one uggla mother fugga!!
Nobody was better than Sting
August 22nd, 20097:44 pm
Tommy Hanson can’t hit. Bobby is so stupid for starting him.
Heath- I dont miss Kotchman at all, at first I was skeptical but I’m really glad Wren pulled that off.
Tomahawkin…..well documented in baseball’s rule of 64 from decades of records. Score less than 4 you lose 80% of the time. Score more than 6 you win 80% of the time. There is nothing the Braves can do to improve a wining percentage long term when scoring 3 runs. Ain’t happening dude.
As long as we win its cool…cause we’ll be pickin up on either Col or SF…I think its a four gamer too…
August 22nd, 20097:45 pm
Stupid Infante!! Whats the matter?! Can’t get the bat of your shoulders? Why are you on the team??
Needs to Know
Is there an Internet video link working tonite? Have not been able to find one.
lexbrave (August 22nd, 2009 6:42 pm): “the thing that makes me nervous is that the braves have played their best baseball of the season and have been the nl’s 2nd hottest team (as dave pointed out) over their past 40 games and they still have only managed to make up 2 games in the wild card (they were 6 back 40 games ago) “
C’mon now — chin up.
They HAVE caught and passed FIVE teams in the WCR. That ain’t nothing, you know. It had to be done, and they did it, and will, hopefully, continue.
Heyward triples one home in the Top 1st….1-0 Mississippi
Now hitting .348
August 22nd, 20097:46 pm
Escobar for Supreme Court ,
I agree, I thought we traded LaRoche for Norton, I was like Sweet Jesus!
“He’s suffering from headaches, but he definitely gives opposing pitchers headaches.”
Ron Gant’s chanelling his inner Chip Caray.
I like the aggressiveness. Volstad is 2nd behind Chris Young of SD in stolen bases allowed. RUN!!!
There we go, Omar! Great start for him…flashing the power, the glove, and now the speed…
Stupid Infante!! I could have made that faster than you! DFA! DFA! DFA!
I only wish we were this aggressive on the basepaths all year.
Rock On, how many times did we win low scoring games in the 90’s if you have great pitching like we did they you can just keep opponents to low runs if you need to.
August 22nd, 20097:47 pm
I’m loving this aggressive baserunning
Is it me or do we play better when we are aggressive on the basepaths instead of sitting back and waiting for the 3-run homer…
That sit back and wait for the 3-run himer philospohy leads to a lot of DPs…
I’d like the braves to be this aggressive on the basepaths more when we play the Phillies next. They own us in that aspect of the game
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
