cdog,
Got a point there, but, Ill correct you in some way. Infante is an excellent fielder. Smooth he is. He might have lost a step while being out. he has only played like 4 games since may…….give him a break. I have also noticed he is not the same with the bat since he has been back, but he is at the same level as martin with the bat, he knows how to find the gaps, use the lines, some power, etc, excellent contact hitter. I would have to say this guy is clearly ice cold, and I think thats why bobby is making him play everyday, he might have sensed the same thing. You will notice the difference by midweek next week.

Y’all ever heard of Jason Becker, the guitarist? He was like the guitar prodigy extraordinaire, an absolutely amazing talent. At 19 he signed-on as David Lee Roth’s lead guitarist. They cut one disc together before he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He had to use super-slinky strings to finish disk because fingers were already so weakened. He now composes music by blowing into a computer-powered tube device.
This was recorded in the late 80’s at The Atlanta Institute Of Music. It’s a short piece he played during an hour-and-a-half seminar. Really amazing. He played utilizing the “shred” style.
Move Brian McCann to first base, LaRoche to third, Chipper to left, Vasquez will catch, turn Escobar into a 100mph fireballer! Sign Scott Thorman, Keith Lockhart, and Steve Sisco to what they think are minor league contracts, tell them we need them for a G-Braves playoff push. Then we offer Anderson, Thorman, Lockheart, Sisco, and Lowe to the baseball gods.
So we look like this:
1. McLouth CF
2. Church RF
3. Chipper LF
4. McCann 1B
5. Walt Weiss SS
6. LaRoche 3B
7. Vasquez C
8. Infante 2B
9. Pitcher

We all know Im anti Bobby but I think its time Chipper joins the parade out of town. I agree with one blogger who said he is already thinking of hunting season. Hope Wren kills the 90’s this off season so we can finally move forward as an organization. It’s time.
Unfortunately Chiper became old sooner than everybody expected, he is no more an everyday player! and if he doesn’t wake-up now, the Braves will lose this race. I suggest that “Chino” Cadahia prepare some Cuban Coffee for him before every game, to see if he comes alive!!!.

Why do some of you even bother to post? Are your lives that shallow and frustrating or there’s just nothing else to do? I mean, it’s not as if some of the analysis in the past three hours was relevant, correct or even well written.
About the lineup, I like the idea of Adam LaRcohe hitting fourth and Brian McCann hitting fifth with Yunel Escobar behind him. That would move Garret Anderson to seventh when he’s in the lineup. While I was in the crowd wanting to trade Kelly Johnson, he has become valuable once again. I still think they need to let him play the outfield some so that they have one more utility player on the team. I think looking to next year, Jason Heyward may start the year on the roster. If he doesn’t, the Braves may upgrade in right and left field and re-sign LaRoche. If you get bats in left and right field that bring 20-25 home runs, that would be a pretty solid lineup. I know some will mention Jordan Schafer, but he hasn’t proven he’s ready for the big team and he isn’t healthy so you really can’t count on him. I would still like to see one big bat and one good hitter with speed to man the outfield with Nate McLouth. What do you guys think?
Chipper’s an old man. Bobby Cox suxks. Chipper is a little girl, Bobby Cox sucks. Norton sucks. We will lose. We will always lose. Bobby Cox sucks. Brooks Conrad is God and Norton sucks worse because he’s keeping God out of the lineup. Blah. Blah. Blah. Whatever.
Lew-And that was a revolutionary post? It was kind, well structured and thought out..Now if only we cared about your thoughts we might actually stop posting.
Lew, you may be correct. Why do you post? I actually enjoy talking about the Braves. I’m sure most of the others on here do as well. From time to time, there are posts that make very little sense, but it’s a free country.
CrimeDog, you had me nodding my head “yes”, until the “violenty opposing” comment. I haven’t noticed Bobby Cox with a mobile missile launcher or anything.
I would like to ask a question about last nights game. When they restarted the 9th inning and it was our time to bat.We had the heart of the line-up batting and I got so dissappointed when we were down by 2 runs and Chipper and Brian came out swinging at the first pitch.Did they have a plan to be aggressive and attract or were they just in a hurry to get the game over? At least Adam worked the count some.
Jurrjens4NLCY- Thorman didnt do squat Tex was here for half a year and we lost four prospects, three of which now start I believe and Kotchman was just blah. You cant say we wouldnt have gotten the production like them. LaRoche is obviously second to Tex even though Tex did not produce here. I think Mac would have made a fine first basemen it just would have taken some time for him to be used to, Jarod has also become quite a good catcher. We could have traded the S.S. we put in that deal for someone as he is lighting up the AL. I agree the Drew for Wainwright was just bad the guy is ripping pitchers but right now we dont really need them so its neither here nor there.
Well of course. I thought that’s whos opinions we were voicing. Don’t even get them started on his continued insistance to run that Japanese dude out there to pitch every fifth night, even though he “sux.”
Lew its a blog for people to express opinions no one expects our words have any effect but it helps people vent their obvious frustrations with this team and their lack of will to win…BOBBY COX
CrimeDog-Of course KK sucks. Why do you think the Braves have refused to score runs when he pitches and lose all his games. He’s a clubhouse cancer. And di I mention he sucks?
It’s obvious that the clubhouse resents him because his country always wins the WBC. After all, this is America. Plus, he doesn’t speak English so he’s no fun at the team bowling outings.
Lew: So true about a certain couple of commenters today. Really, and you know who you are, you need to get out, see a movie, take a walk in the park, punch something to take out some pent-up frustrations. Anything. Because the constant, repetitive posts that everything sucks are way past the boring stage, and now just sound imbecilic.
the thing that makes me nervous is that the braves have played their best baseball of the season and have been the nl’s 2nd hottest team (as dave pointed out) over their past 40 games and they still have only managed to make up 2 games in the wild card (they were 6 back 40 games ago) and have actually lost a game and a half in the division over that span. with the final 40 games of the season they are going to have to make up twice as much ground.
so while the braves mathmatically are very much alive, i’m just not confident that they can do it.
In all fairness, Lew (or anybody else) could complain about the quality of posting here 24/7 and never miss a target. You’re the only guy who has to be here. You get paid for this. May God have mercy on you.
Lew-KK is a solid number 4 go find a better one in all of MLB and show me his line. They cant score runs to help him because our offense is weak sauce. You are a cancer that needs kemo.
Jurrjens4NLCY- I had this arguement yesterday I’m not about to have it again
Supreme Court-Dude (or not), that was sarcasm. I think KK has been a worthwhile pickup and has strengthened the rotation. I’m not one of the negative idiots that claims everyone sucks and really mean it like the disaffected masses of morons present on such an interminable basis..
Haha probably. I can handle a lot of stupidity on this blog, especially when it comes to opinions. I just get extrememly annoyed when people here presume to know what goes on in the clubhouse or what the “mood of the team” is.
Has anybody been following the Sox v Yankees game? One of the two genius’s calling the game said ” this game could not be more opposite last nights game”. The score was 9 to 0 Sox at the time. I can think of at least one, jezzz.
