KJ Come On!!!!
Here We Go!!!
Carl Crawford and Jimmy Rollins???
kj what are you doing???
he’s just not going to be anything more than a #4 starter by the end of next year. 15 million for that? good thing hanson and jurrjens don’t make too much money right now.
Wow. He’s just not … well, he ain’t too good at 2B. Especially when he’s not playing much.
August 23rd, 20092:42 pm
Kelly Johnson really is one of the top 10 second baseman in baseball.
Don’t know how anyone could argue that.
Escobar for Supreme Court
KJ is the worse Second Basemen I have ever seen
There’s the Kelly that we’re accustomed to seeing play second his whole career.
We Need a DP bad…! But I feel a Ric Flair or another seeing eyed single here
this team needs plus plus defenders in the infield next year if hudson and lowe are on the team.
alfonso soriano for sure…right?
August 23rd, 20092:43 pm
I mean the dude makes 2-3 million he should at least be able to catch a ball.
Get Med’s Warming Up in the Pen, NOW!!!
So, how many runs does Coxy let Lowe give up today? Because the lead just went up in smoke!
NO MORE COX OR CHIPPER!
Does this surprise us? Does Bobby have the guts to take him out after this inning? Please.
Prado…please come back soon…please get Lowe out of the game
Our ace is Derek Blow? For how many years?
This is how baseball works.
Should’ve been first and third with two outs, and the Braves could have walked Paulino to get to the pitcher.
Instead, they have to pitch to him — Lowe isnt any good anymore — and three runs score.
Way to be, KJ.
August 23rd, 20092:44 pm
jb- Agreed we need a third basemen who can field and Prado at 2ed is fine.
the error jumped up and bit us yesterday
Again, Great job CHOP CHOP!!
Costly error followed by a costly 0-2 pitch.
Meanwhile, the offense is having a repeat of the Tuesday Mets game.
As a second baseman, KJ makes a great left fielder
could kj just get an early retirement, or get drafted into the army
Hey, at least the bases are empty.
Even plus plus defenders aren’t going to help a sinkerballer that can’t make the ball sink. I think it’s safe to say that Lowe is now the weak spot in the rotation.
How long are we stuck with Lowe again?
I hate Lowe, he sucks. Classic KJ with the big error that leads to runs and how about the offense just completely shutting down after the first inning once again. This team doesn’t deserve to go to the playoffs.
August 23rd, 20092:45 pm
No problem, Original Jon.
If Bobby weren’t such a “players coach” he’d pinch-hit for Lowe in this inning
Looks like when Huddy comes back we need to move Lowe to the Bullpen so he won’t have to pitch in the 4th inning!!
August 23rd, 20092:46 pm
If it weren’t for the HR…we’d really be in trouble. We still only have 3 hits.
I don’t Believe this (Exepletive) I was Banking On D-Lo coming correct today and he lays another egg on us!!! Arrrggghhh
I give KJ a Shout-Out for that Debacle as well….!
MP can get well enough soon!
the curse of Kelly Johnson
btw answer to the Afflac question is Grady Sizemore and J Roll
You can’t lay it on Lowe!!! KJ has to make that play. We lost a bunch of games earlier this year do to shoddy play in the field. Catching the ball when it is thrown right to you is a fairly simple skill.
second start in a row Lowe can’t hold a lead, I think that’s the opposite of an “ace”
This one’s history folks. No way we come back being down 2 at this stage of the game. Been proven all frickin year.
Scott Boras has to be laughing. We got ripped off….
No More Bobby 2.
Why is it that these no-playing idiots cannot score after they have a big inning at the start of the game. Same Old S–t. And of course Lowe sux as usual.
just bad luck that lowe started his regression when he signed with the braves. he’ll be nothing more than a #4 starter for the remainder of the contract.
August 23rd, 20092:47 pm
without a doubt that disaster of inning is nearly all on kelly…
kelly took a page out of last year’s playbook… still early though and maybe kelly can make it up at the plate. i dont know how many pitches nolasco has thrown, but he can go 8 or 9 easy… point being, we need to jump on him and make him work so we can get to their bullpen early…
Sorry, meant to write that you can’t lay it ALL on Lowe.
FU@K the Braves and FU@K Derek Lowe. You could have paid someone 1 million dollars a year to pitch like this useless sad a$$ sack of bones. 3 run lead right away, and he can’t handle that much. All the starters did this year was piss and moan because they never git run support, well hell, when they get it they can’t hold onto it anyways. Put Lowe on waivers and try to keep Vasquez. I highly doubt any team would eb dumb enough to claim Lowe though. I wish Burnett wouldn’t have spurned us, if we signed him, we never look at this piece of crap Lowe.
A multi-million dollar 3 inning guy isn’t what we bargained for
Paul Lentz – As you previously stated, Bobby’s decision to keep players like KJ & Greg Norton have & will continue to haunt the Braves. Why are either of the two on our major league roster?
Is Lowe not taking his medicine again?
I Love Me Some Kelly Johnson....
August 23rd, 20092:48 pm
Who’s with me??
Geez Whiz, y’all are so blind.
Yeah Matty-D! There’s a start!
Nolasco is pathetic.
this game is no where near over.
Game is not over. We can get this guy. Johnson has to go this off season, though. He stinks.
I have no idea why you are laying this all on Kelly or Derek, the blame solely lies on Chop Chop for jinxing the team by saying that 3 runs was enough to beat the Marlins.
Derek just having another bad stretch here when it is not a forgiveable time to pitch like this.
I told U not to Underestimate the Marlins!
August 23rd, 20092:49 pm
Is it 4-3 or 5-3, gameday says 4, yahoo says 5
Oh and of course KJ sux as usual.
future isn’t as bright as people thought for this team. phillies have a much better lineup and an underrated starting staff. blanton, lee, hamels, happ.
Uh, did KJ give the M’s 2 runs in the 2nd?
We all also know why Kelly Johnson is a bench warmer these days. Guy has butter fingers like a little leaguer. Add the fact that he can’t hit, and this is what you have. Way to play guys in a must win series. Go home where you belong, you can’t contend with these other teams.
Definately gotta put Lowe on waivers and see if a team will look at his stats and say “hmm he has 12 wins and a 4.50 ERA and we need a starter, why not?” It would be a shame if we got rid of Hudson instead of Derek “I Blow” Lowe.
August 23rd, 20092:50 pm
No. This game is not over. Marlins will score many more runs while we sit on 3.
Lowe isn’t getting on top of his pitches when he’s throwing from the stretch. You can tell the difference in his posture. From the windup he comes over the top. When he’s throwing from the stretch he arches his back and comes from a different arm slot, especially when he gets tired. The result is those flying saucers in the middle of the strike zone.
TV says 5-3
Why the hell is there no pinch hitter? Put Medlen up.
why the fck is Gorecki on this team again?
You see KJ, that why you lost your job as 2B………….you just cost us 3 freakin runs…you kid, are badddddddddddd.
Cox, you take Lowe out as soon as someone else gets on base, since he is not doing well, again. Cant wait for Huddy to be ready.
August 23rd, 20092:51 pm
looks like kelly got his annual mental mistake that cost us a huge game in finally.
told you it was sizemore and jroll
“This one’s history folks. No way we come back being down 2 at this stage of the game. Been proven all frickin year.”
Normally I’d agree with you, but this is a big game…Offense better get their head out of their asses and get it together
Seriously, No offense to him but Gorecki is killing us…
Impressive pitching by Nolasco.
Well…my boy Kelly has absolutely NO “instincts” on how to play 2B…NO possible way to go for 2 on that one…so…JUST catch the ball and give a little “hop” to get outta the baserunner’s way…Don’t “worry”…or look at… the runner or hitter on that one…JUST catch the ball !!
Hate to break the news, but this game is over. The Braves will be sitting in the dugout moping and whining and they will be completely out of this game. Not to mention that Lowe still has to give up a few more runs in order to make this a successful outing by his standards.. Even if we got the lead back, Lowe will give it back up.
Matt Diaz just keeps ripping at the plate. He’s up to .304 for the season.
He should get a hit…
cox is an idiot. they have an off day tomorrow so he shouldn’t be worried about the pen. they need this run. where is the pinch hitter? lowe has nothing.
August 23rd, 20092:52 pm
He’s leaving pitches up. Here comes a three-run homer for Omar Infante. Nolasco might as well hit the showers.
Another one of our pitchers doing something Norton can’t do…get on base
There We Go “O”!!!
Gorecki is comepletely overmatched. McLouth can’t get back soon enough…or Church.
I couldn’t hate On Lowe until he grooved that pitch to Paulino. What was that? Well, we get at least one back…Infante is so good.
Woooo hooo. Time to make up for the error KJ. Put on in the gap!
KJ needs a 3 run jack to make up for that error.
I have sat through 3 seasons of watching Kelly Johnson butcher play after play after play. I think that the rule on the blog should now be, IF a blogger defends Kelly Johnson they will be banned for lack of baseball knowledge. There is no, I REPEAT NO way anyone can defend him. He is a cancer and should not play ever again for this team.
This is all moot.. Lowe will choke when he gets back out there..
August 23rd, 20092:53 pm
As poorly as Lowe’s pitched today, he could’ve gotten out of that last inning with no runs if Kelly makes the play. Even if he just gets the one out at second, they could’ve then walked Paulino to load bases and face Nolasco with no runs in, Braves still ahead 3-2.
Steve from OH
Why the hell is there no pinch hitter?
You really don’t understand why?
And now…My boy Kelly will redeem himself….with the bat !!
Our turn to get these flairs to drop in.
Meanwhile, the offense finally woke up from the hibernation. Hopefully it will go on an eating binge.
well they can at least get to 4 runs, but can they clear that hurdle … can they score more than 4?
Nice to see how some of you have finally waken up and are aware of how pathetic KJ is and how Prado is so much better than him. Infante is also better, he just lost a step because of inactivity.
Lowe redeems himself a little…now it’s KJs turn
The Game Ain’t Over Til I say It’s Over “and that’s the Bottom line”
time for kelly to make up for his blunder right here.
Omar (one of my favorite players btw) comes through with a clutch ric flair.
Good managing for once Bobby. Letting Lowe hit rather than your man crush Norton.
