Pink Floyd is one of my absolute favorites RHR, and “Brain Damage” one of my fave songs. “Time” is a fave song too… Gotta mention “Wish You Were Here.” DOB polly likes “Have A Cigar,” though he’s a Pink hater… lol
Ok lay off Pink Floyd, Prior to Roger Waters leaving they are the best group of the era. Nobody did or has done what they did. You have to give a large amount of credit to them over the fact that “Dark Side Of The Moon” does not sound dated.
Listen to Zep or the Doors and it screams late 60’s and 70’s. Floyd stands alone.
David Gilmour’s latest album “On An Island.” Is fantastic (Only Gilmour solo album I liked.) Very Floydesq.
Funny thing about my boy Kelly ….”instinctually”….he is, in my opinion, the BEST baserunner on the Braves team by quite a bit…BUT ALSO…”instinctually”…he is, in my opinion, the WORST 2B I have ever seen….BTW…WHAT drunk… is in charge of “cameras” today ??
Oliver Perez was taken out of the game with a 3-0 count on Pedro in the top of the first. He’d only given up two three-run HRs before that. Nice quick day for Ollie.
As they head to the bottom of the first, 6-0 Phillies.
wow philly up 6-0 already…its gonna take a miracle for anyone else to win the division
They basically just have to play .500 ball the rest of the year to win it. Braves needn’t worry about the Phils anymore….just worry about winning the games they play.
Tuesday night, our offense “took the rest” of the night off against Oliver “Cy Young” Perez after 3 innings with us up 4-0. When Derek Lowe had his 4th inning meltown which led us to losing 9-4…….many on here “ripped” Lowe (and Bobby Cox for not taking him out earlier in the 4th inning).
My point was that not only should the Braves offense have knocked out Perez earlier……..but that our offense should also have “kicked it up a notch” and mounted a comeback after that 4th inning. I placed some blame on the offense for our loss on Tuesday. I was “ripped” because many on here said that a “4-0 early lead” was plenty of runs to work with.
Meanwhile, already today against the Phillies, Perez only last 2/3 of an inning. The Phils hit 2 3-run jacks off Perez, knocking his A$$ out in the top of the 1st. 6-0 Phillies, bottom of the 1st.
Perez is a BUM. The Mets bullpen is pathetic. Yet against us on Tuesday, our offense made them look like “Cy freaking Young” the last 6 innings of that game.
I know that many of you prefer to forget about the past (heaven forbid it gets in the way of optimism when it comes to our hopes to make the play-offs). However, it is losses (or lack of comebacks) like that…….that could very well come back to bite us at the end of the season. From the way it looks, Colorado may very well keep playing good ball the rest of the way.
Oh, by the way, someone on here mentioned that after the upcoming Dodgers series that the Rockies have 9 games in a row against “creampuffs” (Mets, Padres, Diamondbacks)…………I would like to point out that we had our chances to beat up on those same “creampuffs”. Many of you were content with either winning 2 of 3……..or took the attitude that losing 2 of 3 wasnt going to kill our play-off chances because we had a lot of games left.
If the Rockies end up sweeping a couple of those series……….then I’m sure that the blog will be filled with “it isnt fair that the Rockies get to beat up on creampuffs” postings.
By the way, teams that make the play-offs………..usually have longer winning streaks during the year than a 5 game winning streak.
Uh, are some of you still in favor of dropping McCann to the 8th spot in the order? I have said REPEATEDLY that when McCann starts to heat up, he can carry a team.
McCann is a stud. On this team, he is the unquestioned clean-up hitter.
Tomahawkin……..it is unreasonable to EXPECT our starting pitching to shut the other team down “every single time out”. On some nights, our starting pitching needs the offense to “pick them up” and score some freaking runs in a game where we actually need them to.
On most nights, 5 runs is plenty. However, a good team will mount a comeback and win some high scoring games.
Wait, werent the Rockies down 6-1 going into the 6th inning last night against a “good pitching staff” like the Giants? I guess that them coming back and winning last night is an “unfair” comparison.
Braves lay down Tuesday. Rockies not giving up last night. That is a 2 game swing. Yet, most of you see it as only “one game”.
Ahhh, the joys of watching Lowe.
Guy has now gotten three outs and given up four hits. And he NEVER misses a bat. Does anyone swing and miss at his pitches? Ever?
McFann ;Ô;………I was just “putting a little mustard” with my reference to the “McCann batting 8th” remark. Still, many on here were pushing for McCann to be put behind both Escobar and LaRoche in the batting order.
