Must be chilly down on the field.
They gave David Ortiz a lot of press for having a slow start in Boston. He has more home run and RBI than Oblique Jones.

Game time temp: 76
Gotta love it
Pink Floyd is one of my absolute favorites RHR, and “Brain Damage” one of my fave songs. “Time” is a fave song too… Gotta mention “Wish You Were Here.” DOB polly likes “Have A Cigar,” though he’s a Pink hater… lol
I knew Chipper would have an error today!
Steve from OH
Great camera work there…
August 23rd, 20091:38 pm
Another Error Chipper
Nice DP, Keep em coming!
Scored a hit…. I guess it was….
At least Escobar can field. :/
Ok lay off Pink Floyd, Prior to Roger Waters leaving they are the best group of the era. Nobody did or has done what they did. You have to give a large amount of credit to them over the fact that “Dark Side Of The Moon” does not sound dated.
Listen to Zep or the Doors and it screams late 60’s and 70’s. Floyd stands alone.
David Gilmour’s latest album “On An Island.” Is fantastic (Only Gilmour solo album I liked.) Very Floydesq.

What happened to dead-center camera angle? I have Extra Innings so I’m forced to watch a lot of opponents broadcasts.
Funny thing about my boy Kelly ….”instinctually”….he is, in my opinion, the BEST baserunner on the Braves team by quite a bit…BUT ALSO…”instinctually”…he is, in my opinion, the WORST 2B I have ever seen….BTW…WHAT drunk… is in charge of “cameras” today ??
Oliver Perez was taken out of the game with a 3-0 count on Pedro in the top of the first. He’d only given up two three-run HRs before that. Nice quick day for Ollie.
As they head to the bottom of the first, 6-0 Phillies.
August 23rd, 20091:40 pm
47 pitches for Perez in the first, by the way.
is it just me or is chipper sucking it up lately
August 23rd, 20091:41 pm
Here we go!
At least it stayed in the park…thought it didn’t at first.
Hanley can do that all day long as long as there aren’t any runners on base
August 23rd, 20091:42 pm
Dang i missed the wives. Dlowe and kj ranking 1 and 2 last i seen…but i havent seen all of them.
wow philly up 6-0 already…its gonna take a miracle for anyone else to win the division
Let’s get some runs now men!
Cantu was 7-for-8 with a homer against Lowe before that….
Good first for D-Lowe. Hopefully now we can stop talking about Tuesday’s debaucle.

Blogging in game may cause one to become irritated and very snappy toward others around him/her.
August 23rd, 2009
They basically just have to play .500 ball the rest of the year to win it. Braves needn’t worry about the Phils anymore….just worry about winning the games they play.
Heath Scored a hit…. I guess it was…
It was less of a hit than That Play Utley made!
Wish I was at the game.
Let’s make some fish tacos today.
Phillies don’t know how to lose anymore. Incredible Major League Baseball team…..just incredible!
Needs to Know
August 23rd, 20091:45 pm
Is there a streaming link that is working today?
Did Chipper get a “hometown discount” on the error he just made?
Bravesgirl- lowe had a good 1st 2nd and 3rd in ny too.
August 23rd, 20091:47 pm
Yeah, RHR, I know. Believe me, I know.
Frenchy with a triple…
I wonder if Chip is hurting or hiding something. He has had a rough year, He is a much better fielder then that play indicates.
No offense, but Paulino’s catching gear is really ugly…odd color choice.
Phillies are incredible…but I still hate them
I keep waiting for the Phillies Pitching to collapse but it just isn’t gonna happen. They are the favorites to win the NL
Has Glavine’s phone rung yet?
August 23rd, 20091:48 pm
“”is it just me or is chipper sucking it up lately”"
Not really “sucking it up,” just sucking period.
Come on Chipper!!!!
Kelly can grow facial hair? Who knew?!
August 23rd, 20091:49 pm
Chipper=Swinging at the 1st pitch AGAIN
August 23rd, 20091:50 pm
Making Nolasco work….
August 23rd, 20091:51 pm
I didn’t even notice when he was batting. Had to rewind and look very closely to see it though.
Nice, That Hoss is making him work…
August 23rd, 20091:52 pm
Tuesday night, our offense “took the rest” of the night off against Oliver “Cy Young” Perez after 3 innings with us up 4-0. When Derek Lowe had his 4th inning meltown which led us to losing 9-4…….many on here “ripped” Lowe (and Bobby Cox for not taking him out earlier in the 4th inning).
My point was that not only should the Braves offense have knocked out Perez earlier……..but that our offense should also have “kicked it up a notch” and mounted a comeback after that 4th inning. I placed some blame on the offense for our loss on Tuesday. I was “ripped” because many on here said that a “4-0 early lead” was plenty of runs to work with.
Meanwhile, already today against the Phillies, Perez only last 2/3 of an inning. The Phils hit 2 3-run jacks off Perez, knocking his A$$ out in the top of the 1st. 6-0 Phillies, bottom of the 1st.
Perez is a BUM. The Mets bullpen is pathetic. Yet against us on Tuesday, our offense made them look like “Cy freaking Young” the last 6 innings of that game.
I know that many of you prefer to forget about the past (heaven forbid it gets in the way of optimism when it comes to our hopes to make the play-offs). However, it is losses (or lack of comebacks) like that…….that could very well come back to bite us at the end of the season. From the way it looks, Colorado may very well keep playing good ball the rest of the way.
Oh, by the way, someone on here mentioned that after the upcoming Dodgers series that the Rockies have 9 games in a row against “creampuffs” (Mets, Padres, Diamondbacks)…………I would like to point out that we had our chances to beat up on those same “creampuffs”. Many of you were content with either winning 2 of 3……..or took the attitude that losing 2 of 3 wasnt going to kill our play-off chances because we had a lot of games left.
If the Rockies end up sweeping a couple of those series……….then I’m sure that the blog will be filled with “it isnt fair that the Rockies get to beat up on creampuffs” postings.
By the way, teams that make the play-offs………..usually have longer winning streaks during the year than a 5 game winning streak.
Hey! Good AB Chipper!
McFann, can our boy get a 3-fer?
Ok B-Macc No DP’s Please…We gotta get one here
If there is a DP here It’s Bobby’s Fault for having B-Macc hit 4th
That’s the one thing Chipper can still do for this offense right now.
Make em pay, Big Mac.
August 23rd, 20091:53 pm
Frenchy up to .271. Chipper at .286. Chipper better watch out, LOL
Mac yanks it!
See ya baby!
Yeahhh There We Go B-Macc!!!!
TOWERING shot. That was so high, just kept sailing…. Mac is warming up, I’d say.
August 23rd, 20091:54 pm
Woo hoooooo! Atta boy Mac.
I guess Bobby gets credit for having McCann hit fourth, huh?
HR by the Cleanup hitter!
that a baby!!!!!!
Tale of the Tape…? 355 Feet
I guess he cann
August 23rd, 20091:55 pm
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Nice going Brian.
Uh, are some of you still in favor of dropping McCann to the 8th spot in the order? I have said REPEATEDLY that when McCann starts to heat up, he can carry a team.
McCann is a stud. On this team, he is the unquestioned clean-up hitter.
3 minutes: the time it takes to scroll past a lentz post on an iphone.
August 23rd, 20091:56 pm
Keep the offense coming…I’m tired of seeing the “score in one inning and take the night off”
Plus I thought we had the game in the bag Tuesday night in Lowe’s last start. Obviously that’s not the case. We need a blowout win…
Tale of the Tape …? 3 runs. That’s sort of all that matters.
Hoo-hoo! That thing was HAMMERED!! Had to watch all the replays…
What a thing of beauty…keep it up, man! (Knew I wanted to be at this game…)
I wonder if anyone has ever been seriously injured by a flying bat?
August 23rd, 20091:57 pm
chilidog I guess Bobby gets credit for having McCann hit fourth, huh?
Who ever said BMac should bat eighth?
Wait! Never mind…don’t tell me…
August 23rd, 20091:58 pm
Good thing mac was batting clean up today eh?
Made em throw 29 pitches. Nice job.
Please don’t let this be all that we score. Let’s try to get a few more.
Good start, more would be nice though.
August 23rd, 20092:00 pm
Chipper Jones, last 60 games: .248 AVG, .363 OBP, .395 SLG
Lose a Frenchy, gain a Frenchy
August 23rd, 20092:01 pm
Can we get another double play?
If B-Macc Hits 5th can is he capable of carrying the Team?
“Yes He Cann!”
August 23rd, 20092:02 pm
Tomahawkin……..it is unreasonable to EXPECT our starting pitching to shut the other team down “every single time out”. On some nights, our starting pitching needs the offense to “pick them up” and score some freaking runs in a game where we actually need them to.
On most nights, 5 runs is plenty. However, a good team will mount a comeback and win some high scoring games.
Wait, werent the Rockies down 6-1 going into the 6th inning last night against a “good pitching staff” like the Giants? I guess that them coming back and winning last night is an “unfair” comparison.
Braves lay down Tuesday. Rockies not giving up last night. That is a 2 game swing. Yet, most of you see it as only “one game”.

If Joe ever claims that a game isn’t a big game, I’ll be surprised.
August 23rd, 20092:03 pm
Here We Go!
Get Medlen up
Damn, damn, damn.
August 23rd, 20092:04 pm
Ahhh, the joys of watching Lowe.
Guy has now gotten three outs and given up four hits. And he NEVER misses a bat. Does anyone swing and miss at his pitches? Ever?
Here we go. Our “ace” is trying to blow it.
McFann ;Ô;………I was just “putting a little mustard” with my reference to the “McCann batting 8th” remark. Still, many on here were pushing for McCann to be put behind both Escobar and LaRoche in the batting order.
Rob from SC
Lowe is all over the place and his pitches are UP…He won’t last lonmg
Ya gotta have the ball mac…..last time I checked anyway.
August 23rd, 20092:05 pm
Loved lowe cheering the play at the plate as it happened lol
Here we go with f-ing Lowe again. Give him a lead and watch him blow up.
Lowe is through for the year. Bobby in the dugout……trying to “get it.”
August 23rd, 20092:06 pm
Hermida is an idiot.
Nice DP, we’ll certainly take that.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
