Never had one… and even if I did. Let me just say, if I ended up with Kate…. nothing else in the world would matter. I wouldn’t even be able to tell you if the Braves ever won a ball game again. Kate. Mmmmmmmm.

We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin’ rain… and big ol’ fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath

You know, when I read the “dead Mexican dude on Chipper’s ranch” story, the first thought that entered my twisted mind was this:

jman i don’t think they’ll suspend a game that isn’t tied, if anything they’d call it. But they want to make every effort to get it in, given the importance of it to the pennant races. coming up on two hours now, and boy, am i pleased!

It’s amazing the people who call the post-game radio show with Chip and Lemke.

They somehow draw the most idiotic, clueless, ill-informed, dumbass, redneck morons. It’s literally two or three variations on the same retard, over and over.

Some guy wants to know why Norton can’t be replaced with Jordan Schafer. Uh, because Jordon Schafer plays center field and is not a pinch hitter. And he’s injured.

They get every detail wrong. Somebody mentioned how well they remember the catch Otis Nixon made against the Reds. No, it was the Pirates. Remember, they used to be good, they were sort of our rivals. Andy Van Slyke? Didn’t play for the Reds.

Brian, I think anyone with a child under the age of 5 who is still stupid enough to be waiting out a rain delay between 2 teams 6 games out of 1st place should be reported to a child protective agency. Interesting note: Tonight was the longest stretch (6 1/3 inn) the braves went with out a hit in a game since June second against the Cubs (6 2/3). Entering the bottom of the ninth the score was 5-3 when #7 hit a homer to send the game into extras. Braves went on to win in 12.

This game has been eerily similar. Hopefully the result will be the same tonight!

For all those with the suspended game talk, I did a little research and thought I’d pass this along.

A game can be suspend for several reasons (curfew, lighting issues, etc.) but not typically due to weather. In order for a game to be suspeded due to weather, it must be an official game (41/2 innings with the home team ahead, or 5 innings with the visiting club ahead or tied) and then one of the following two conditions must be met:

1. The score must be tied
2. Or if the game is called in the middle of an inning, the visiting team has scored one or more runs in that inning to take the lead, and the home team has not retaken the lead.

Also of note, a game cannont be suspended if weather delayed it and then there were lighting issues, etc. later or vice versa. It must be a singluar cause. All of these things add up to one thing… suspensions are extremely rare.

This information was borrowed from here:
http://www.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/start_end_4.jsp
Specifically section 4.12

Potential scapegoats –

1) Peachtree TV for starting the game at 7:30
2) Bobby Cox for
a) Somehow being responsible for the no hitter for half the game
b) Somehow being responsible for the homers off Vazquez
c) Pinch hitting Greg Norton
3) Greg Norton. I’m sure right after he got out sat down on the bench and said “Suckers….”
4) Jeff Francoeur….haven’t gotten to blame him in awhile
5) KJ – I dunno. Just seems like a lot of people have gotten off his bandwagon lately.

What’d I leave off?
