Everybody buy their mega millions tix tonight? Won’t do you any good. I’m so winning.
August 21st, 200910:13 pm
Esco if your or on teh bench can you dedree waives for your friend No(hit)rton
LOL Settle Down Mitchell…!
Looks like it up to the big guys Chipper,Mac,Roachy to get it done in the 9th
Forgive me Chopdawg, I didn’t phrase that properly.
You want a three run homerun to end a rally, not start it. We’re still losing in case you didn’t notice.

Has anyone seen Medlins backpack?
See Mitchell, that’s what I need you on here for. That so made me feel better.
How come when Francoeur gained 25 pounds he suddenly sucked?
i doubt they’d be nice and return the favor of a braves walk off homerun.
August 21st, 200910:15 pm
His name is right there on the back of his jersey. If you plan on being on the supreme court I suggest you learn to read/spell.
They wont call rain delay in the 9th inning will they?
Medlen – two e’s dammit. No i.
Strikes please!! Hurry!!
Mitchell, you are and idiot.
August 21st, 200910:16 pm
What I’ll do for Norton is serve him a warrent that forbids him from Turner Field so he can’t ruin innings anymore
All lefties coming up, could use Logan, but nope, let’s leave the righty…
I’m impressed with Medlen he has gotten better the more he plays, he gots good stuff. Just dont see a spot for him in the rotation anytime soon.
Only way i see him joining the rotation is if Hudson doesnt get his option vested and hits free agency and we trade Javy for bat/prospects.
Good night. Can’t stay up for another hour
Was Carroll one of those writers closing the windows?
Come on umpy, seriously? They better not call this. We want to finish this game.
Thanks for another loss in a pennant race Bobby Cox.
Wow Carroll, you get all the breaks, eh?
August 21st, 200910:17 pm
Wow Its not even raining there! SABOTAGE!!
Seriously?? A rain delay in the 9th?? Damn it! (of course it’s only 7:15 out here but still…)
Guess I am off to watch a movie.
Looked like her to me, braves70.
I never noticed Frenchy gain any significant amount of weight in the 4 years I watched him. Hanley came back looking like the Incredible Hulk.
Sorry Carroll. Looks like you’re gonna be there for a while.
August 21st, 200910:18 pm
lol Carroll, Chip Carey just called ya’ll out for closing the windows.
Oh, come on!!
Lightning…gotta shut down. Night, y’all.
Oh well I hope its not the season.
“America’s Funniest Home Video’s” That show sucked when it was hot on the streets…
I still hate that show…
Good night guys and gals..
Maybe I will wake up and read about a comeback. Just maybe….
1) It’s not over (well…hopefully)
2) How is it Bobby’s fault? He tell Javy to miss his locations?
August 21st, 200910:19 pm
Oh I miss how we used to dress in the 90’s
Oh great! It’s America’s Funniest Home Video’s. This was great the first time I saw it..about 20 years ago.
Carroll, Joe Simpson is caling you writers out for closing the windows. Go over there and tell him what you think.
there’s a lot of rain behind that they should just go ahead and call it, it saves them from thinking they still have a chance.
August 21st, 200910:20 pm
Bobby sure does like to press his luck with his starters. First Lowe for 8 runs, than Vazquez for 5. Ominous start with the solo shot, double, and sacrifice bunt. The game goes from 1-0 to 2-0 to 3-0 to 5-0 in the blink of the eye.
Least we found our clean up hitter
jeffrey d: there’s beer all over my computer screen, and it’s ALL YOUR FAULT!!
August 21st, 200910:21 pm
This one isn’t Bobby’s fault. It’s Freddi’s for not leaving his pitchers out there long enough for us to take the lead. Try to keep up, jeffrey.
You guys that keep defending Cox are incredible. If I have to spell it out for you, any other manager would have taken Javy out before the home run. But our HOF manager screws it up as he has been doing for the last 4 years with his bullpen mismanagement. Jeez.
Yea, Lowes inning was kind of a fluke though. That wont happen again.
Wish I could get paid $800,000 to sit on a bench, then get up once a day and swing a stick around aimlessly for a couple minutes. Ed Norton may suck, but he’s got a better thing going than most of us!
August 21st, 200910:22 pm
I thought we were already watching America’s Funniest Home Videos bu watching the great Bobby Cox.
Yea. It is getting really sketchy
This one’s all on Cox. Pull the starter at the right time and the game is tied. What an idiot!
August 21st, 200910:23 pm
Just go ahead and call it blue…? This manager and team doesn’t have the Testicular Fortitude to pull off a comeback from being 5 down…
Rafael, I live down Horseleg Creek Rd–one tree down across the road had traffic turning around, looks like a lot of limbs down; ballpark area (north Rome) might’ve gotten a lightning strike, & now it’s starting to thunder again.
Trip home that usually takes 15 mins took about 45
August 21st, 200910:24 pm
Giants doing their part (6-1 now)…we’re just not doing ours.
An hour and a half rain delay in the 9th maybe?
Thats not fair there was still time to play and the bats were heating up.
August 21st, 200910:25 pm
Shamus, Greg’s got a pretty good thing going too
Which one was Carol?
If the weather moves north we will be out of it soon
August 21st, 200910:26 pm
Horseleg Creek Road? Really? Thats hilarious.
The female one, max.
It is interesting that Bobby didn’t make a move and it lead to a 5-0. The Marlins made a move with a leadoff double from Church and it lead to the game being 5-3. I dunno, seems like you could be screwed either way, lol. I’d love to blame it on Bobby, but Vazquez really looked like he still had something, and he had made Hanley look foolish earlier on in the game with a K.
It didn’t take much to see that Lowe didn’t have anything left and was getting shelled with singles. Vazquez on the other hand looked like he was going to get out of it 2-0, weak single made it 3-0. The homer was just devastating, but he’d pitched Hanley well. What can you do?

Letting Norton Pinch hit was the nail in the coffin…Too little too late for the Awfense
Now the pressure is on for tomorrow and Sunday
Oh yes. Norton’s and Diaz’s bats were heating up. Too bad our momentum was drenched.
cabravesfan – it hasn’t rained there in four months and you complain about places where we have actual weather? Where do I sign up?
August 21st, 200910:28 pm
There were two. A blond and a brunette.
Yes, It seems like his at bats have that effect
Esco 4 Supreme CT
That Severe weather is part of a cold front…Which means its moving from NW to SE…
Chopdawg, I like to think of Greg Norton as being in the Ed Norton mold, that’s why I refer to him as such..

I used to love stormy weather…then I became an insurance agent.
I didn’t realize they were still playing until just now.
My TV went out.
Rather appropriate isn’t it? Too little too late. We can’t win the wild card.
It’s going to take a lot to get to 90 wins. There’s reason to believe they can do it. Getting no-hit through the first six innings by a guy coming off the disabled list isn’t one of them but either way, it clearly is going to take more than 90 wins to win the wild card.
The Braves really have some of the qualities of a playoff team, that’s what sucks. One day they look terrible and lose, the next day they come fighting back and win in convincing fashion. That’s what you have to do in October.
But as far as really, really looking like a playoff team? No. Not tonight at least.
We’re just not in a position to lose a game like this. Over the last ten games we’re 7 and 3 but going back to last Friday, we’re 3 and 3.
That’s not good enough.
Well either way we might get to see the end I checked weather channel.com
As long as you don’t mind water restrictions and it being sunny and 75 every day come on out
August 21st, 200910:31 pm
its funny that i didnt see any of you monday morning quarterbacks calling for Javy to be pulled until after the Hanley home run. funny how its always Bobbys fault after the fact.
Norton is BC’s best ole buddy. I think Norton must have seen Bobby beating his wife again.
Steve from OH
August 21st, 200910:32 pm
Holy crap, is MFin defending Bobby? Welcome to the club!
Why is Greg Norton still on the team? I really can’t understand it, his average has been at or below .150 the whole year, and it wouldn’t take a hole heck of a lot to raise it. He really has just been horrible. If you need a worthless walk once in a while he is your man, other than that….
Escobar for Supreme Court : yes I have seen medlens backpack when I took a Cali trip earlier this month. I went to a SD and LAD game and he wore it to the bullpen. Prado told me it is a rookie ritual. It looks like a hello kitty backpack. LOL
August 21st, 200910:33 pm
Its funny you pertual “I love Bobby Cox” idiots have not seen BC’s mismanagement of the bullpen and playing inferior guys over the last 4 years.
I had a huge arguement about it with someone today MFin they defended norton and I cant see how.
August 21st, 200910:34 pm
Not Hello Kitty. Medlen has a My Little Pony backpack. There’s a difference ya know.
“”Now the pressure is on for tomorrow and Sunday”"
Our balloon doesn’t have much pressure left. Putting the Marlins back in 2nd wasn’t a huge help. Our bats are so hot-and-cold that it’s hard to imagine gaining much ground, especially with so many teams involved.
August 21st, 200910:35 pm
Yea I think it is lol. I though he liked it. He’s got a quirky personality
We should let Medlin play 2ed when prado is hurt
August 21st, 200910:36 pm
I see Cox is using the old ran delay ploy, got em right where he wants em. And you guys think Cox has lost it. Ha
Yeh, I really don’t get the Norton thing. He can’t play the field, at least he hasn’t all year long, he can’t hit. He has good at bats, but he doesn’t get hits. I mean if you are the pinch hit specialist you have to get some hits. It should be that simple, hit or you are off the team. Surely we could pick up someone that could do a better job of being a pinch hit specialist. That or forget it all together and have someone like a Josh Anderson on the team that could be a pinch running specialist.
Well, Medlen is a switch hitter…Bobby wouldn’t have to worry about lefty/righty matchups.
August 21st, 200910:37 pm
A Little Rain Delay Music for yall…..
Heyward coming up with bases loaded against a lefty 0 outs
Brandon from Warner Robins
August 21st, 200910:38 pm
At least the Falcons are on…
I like Gorecki in LF, he has made some plays that I don’t think Loaf ever would have gotten to. He’s saving us on defense. Bobby finally got the lineup right tonight, and we got ou and get no hit for 5 innings, go figure.
Escobar for Supreme Court : I think Pablo had a campaign in the late 80s for the Supreme Court. LOL
W-Wha? October already?
he singled 1 rbi
August 21st, 200910:39 pm
He doesnt even get good at bats
Steve from OH
A lot of teams wanted him as a S.S. out of college
Tonight, another display of atlantas futile offense; Vazquez goes 6 shutout innings, we can’t score one off 5.50 era Sanchez.
You think that doesn’t take a toll on Vazquez? Having to throw every pitch perfectly because you think that one mistake will screw up the game.
Heck, even many fans of this blog start saying “ballgame” when we go down 1-0….Can anyone get some stats on the braves record when they score first?
Sorry chophouse. I was afraid that went unnoticed, though
“The Braves really have some of the qualities of a playoff team, that’s what sucks. One day they look terrible and lose, the next day they come fighting back and win in convincing fashion.”
Yeah Mitchell they have been doing that all season…Mainly thay play to the level of their opposition
then Freeman took one for the team to pick up a rbi
If Hanley Ramirez played in New York or Boston he’d be the Tiger Woods of Baseball. He’d be everywhere.
It’s really a shame the rest of the nation doesn’t get to see, or appreciate, this dude. Might be one of the all-time greats by the time he’s done.
