I’m impressed with Medlen he has gotten better the more he plays, he gots good stuff. Just dont see a spot for him in the rotation anytime soon.
Only way i see him joining the rotation is if Hudson doesnt get his option vested and hits free agency and we trade Javy for bat/prospects.

Bobby sure does like to press his luck with his starters. First Lowe for 8 runs, than Vazquez for 5. Ominous start with the solo shot, double, and sacrifice bunt. The game goes from 1-0 to 2-0 to 3-0 to 5-0 in the blink of the eye.

Rafael, I live down Horseleg Creek Rd–one tree down across the road had traffic turning around, looks like a lot of limbs down; ballpark area (north Rome) might’ve gotten a lightning strike, & now it’s starting to thunder again.

It is interesting that Bobby didn’t make a move and it lead to a 5-0. The Marlins made a move with a leadoff double from Church and it lead to the game being 5-3. I dunno, seems like you could be screwed either way, lol. I’d love to blame it on Bobby, but Vazquez really looked like he still had something, and he had made Hanley look foolish earlier on in the game with a K.
It didn’t take much to see that Lowe didn’t have anything left and was getting shelled with singles. Vazquez on the other hand looked like he was going to get out of it 2-0, weak single made it 3-0. The homer was just devastating, but he’d pitched Hanley well. What can you do?

Rather appropriate isn’t it? Too little too late. We can’t win the wild card.
It’s going to take a lot to get to 90 wins. There’s reason to believe they can do it. Getting no-hit through the first six innings by a guy coming off the disabled list isn’t one of them but either way, it clearly is going to take more than 90 wins to win the wild card.
The Braves really have some of the qualities of a playoff team, that’s what sucks. One day they look terrible and lose, the next day they come fighting back and win in convincing fashion. That’s what you have to do in October.
But as far as really, really looking like a playoff team? No. Not tonight at least.
We’re just not in a position to lose a game like this. Over the last ten games we’re 7 and 3 but going back to last Friday, we’re 3 and 3.
That’s not good enough.

Why is Greg Norton still on the team? I really can’t understand it, his average has been at or below .150 the whole year, and it wouldn’t take a hole heck of a lot to raise it. He really has just been horrible. If you need a worthless walk once in a while he is your man, other than that….

Escobar for Supreme Court : yes I have seen medlens backpack when I took a Cali trip earlier this month. I went to a SD and LAD game and he wore it to the bullpen. Prado told me it is a rookie ritual. It looks like a hello kitty backpack. LOL

Our balloon doesn’t have much pressure left. Putting the Marlins back in 2nd wasn’t a huge help. Our bats are so hot-and-cold that it’s hard to imagine gaining much ground, especially with so many teams involved.

Yeh, I really don’t get the Norton thing. He can’t play the field, at least he hasn’t all year long, he can’t hit. He has good at bats, but he doesn’t get hits. I mean if you are the pinch hit specialist you have to get some hits. It should be that simple, hit or you are off the team. Surely we could pick up someone that could do a better job of being a pinch hit specialist. That or forget it all together and have someone like a Josh Anderson on the team that could be a pinch running specialist.

Tonight, another display of atlantas futile offense; Vazquez goes 6 shutout innings, we can’t score one off 5.50 era Sanchez.
You think that doesn’t take a toll on Vazquez? Having to throw every pitch perfectly because you think that one mistake will screw up the game.
Heck, even many fans of this blog start saying “ballgame” when we go down 1-0….Can anyone get some stats on the braves record when they score first?
