you idiots realize that we are so far back now, that every game is a “big game”? more importantly, you idiots that are calling it a season do know that we cant win every game we have left? i dont think you do… you all act is if every game we play is our last and if we lose, we will be eliminated from the playoffs…
this game is by no means over…even if, and i say IF, we do lose, we can still win the series. we lost the first game against the mets and you all called it a season after that loss… yet we won the next two. we have a ton of games against the marlins and phillies left after this series. do we need to win this series? yes. will a loss tonight mean that we will have lost this series? no.
for the 7,453rd time….take a few xanaxes and dont get behind the wheel of a vehicle. its going to be ok. i promise.
Your stinking losers are losing again………arent you gonna do something about it?
Lesson #1………… you dont win a series by scoring 20 runs in one game and none in the others 2 games………..but apparently thats the philosophy on this team. They might think they add the runs and divide them by 3………..
This game is history……….after watching our team last 5 seasons its really easy to say/know, that we are not coming back………sadly against a freaking rookie………….
The size of the crowd says it all………….people is TIRED OF BOBBYS BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get rid of him.
Everyone who says the season is over quit watching this team we dont need you people on here. Also if we do make the playoffs the same ones that are saying its over will be the ones saying i told ya so. Get a grip on reality.
Man. This is rough. It’s not that we suck, its just painfully obvious that the Marlins are better than us. They will probably make the playoffs. Good team.
Way to mail it in JV. Along with hungover offense, again on a Friday at home to open a series, tonight is “no range night.” Haven’t seen any out of 2nd base OR right field. All or nothing with this Braves bunch from the plate. Oh, and I called it, so let’s try and not spend another whole day talking about front office decisions on the eve of the biggest series. TASK AT HAND
Escobar for Supreme Court: “Pete-
Im not bashing Koufax I’m just trying to pose the question of; Would he be as dominate today? I agree calls seem really bad lately but people will always make mistakes its human nature. Its hard to say that Koufax never got breaks because I am sure he did.”
Esco I understand what youre saying and all I can say is unfortunately Im old enough to have watched him throughout most of his career starting in 1963. I would say without question he would dominate today, as he did back then. Dont forget, back then there were only 8 teams in each league, so you had about half the players then as you had today. That means you had the top 200 players then vs. today the top 400 (in each league) that you faced.
Its an interesting debate, and one which unfortunately we will never know the answer.
Bobby is back to his old ways. It was obvious Javy lost it but make sure there is no shot to come back before you pull him. Cox is horrible. The Marlinsare simply better-better players better manager
If (rather .. when) they go on to lose this game I won’t be at all surprised if they get swept. The article says the Braves have the pitching advantage but I don’t believe at all.
On tomorrow’s starter: “On April 14 in Atlanta, Volstad gave up one run on three hits in seven innings, collecting the win in his only start vs. the Braves this year”
on Sunday’s (Nolasco) “The 26-year-old on July 28 had a no-decision with Atlanta, giving up two runs in seven innings”. And then there’s Lowe “They were one of the few teams this season to hit Lowe as hard as the Marlins, who tagged him for six runs in five innings on May 6″
They played bad against the Marlins earlier this year and at least by looking at game 1, that hasn’t changed at all.
Marlins without two of their better hitters tonight; Braves without two of their better hitters; Braves with their 2009 Ace on the mound; Marlins with a guy coming off the disabled list; Braves down 5 to nothing with ONE hit…and that one hit by the pitcher. This is punishment to my eyes.
Carroll, good point about the crowd. May want to share with the braintrust that run the AJC that starting the weekend with a front-page article, “traffic is going to be horrible this weekend, don’t leave the house’, is not a good idea.
Terrible luck and pitch placement. I think Heyward would have cought the first homer he is 6′5″ and a lot faster. Maybe we can make some adjustments now do some work on their pen.
Pete- Its to bad but I respect Koufax he was great I dont like compairing era’s.
The team I despite the most has an A on its hat………..and it aint Anaheim………..I love our boys, but man………..they sure are a bunch of losers………..they just cant get it done………….they sure have the buffalo bills blood.
Why is KJ on the bench? I mean, Im not a KJ fan, but Infante is not hot and KJ was kind of hot. Why not play Ross again? Mc looks pretty tired, thats the only excuse I have for him.
Seeing F. Gonzalez applying the hook leading 5-0 somehow reminded me that this is an important game that maybe, we need to win. That getting your pitcher shelled is not the best idea…
