I would have called for the ole intentional, unintentional walks to Hanley in that case too. If after 2 pitches it’s obvious he is not swingin’…waggle 4.
Nova Scotia Steve
Bottom of the order coming up…I’m not really expecting anything too out of the ordinary…
August 21st, 20099:06 pm
You don’t have to be the Phillies to score one run. I mean what result were you guys hoping for? A 0-0 tie? They were going to have to score at some point in order to win the game.
I hate when Chip is laughing and his voice gets kinda high when he is talking. Really annoying.
Somebody get a damn hit.
McFann, sounds like you had a lot of fun. I’m waiting for my fav exhibit to come back…the penguins! And, I’m looking forward to the new dolphins exhibit they’re making too.
AWFENSE better do something. Rain is on Deck for Tooner Field in 25 minutes…
August 21st, 20099:07 pm
werent we down against the cubs earlier this year at home and being no-hit through 7…yet we came back and won the game? and we werent down by just one….i think we were down by four. its just one run. we can still win this game….
Our only hope is getting to the Marlins bullpen.
One run? Oh well, this ballgame is over!!!
Can’t STAND that. I would’ve complained about earlier, but I didn’t know how to word it. Good job.

Sit down for christ sakes
Escobar for Supreme Court
You gotta respect the way the Marlins run their organization though. They always field one of the youngest if not the youngest team in MLB. Miguel Cabrera was only 20 when he made his debut.
Wow, Gorecki. If that wasn’t a Frenchy style AB, I don’t know what is.
Gorecki putting up some AAA at bats
Stick me in the Braves offense.
DOWN ON THE FARM:
6′ 4″ right-hander LUIS de LUNA continues to dominate. The tall DOMINICAN is currently 9-2 with a 2.08 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in 73.2 IP, 49 H, 17 ER, 11 BB, and 66 SO.
3B EDISON SANCHEZ now has 151 AB’s and after a .294 July average, he’s brought his average up to .306 so far in August. His power numbers have declined since the All-Star break, but his BB’s are on the rise and the SO’s are down dramatically in the second half. Overall the 6′ 4″ VENEZUELAN is hitting .291 for the season with a .930 OPS and 44 H, seven 2B, four 3B, and four HR, nine SB, two CS, 34 BB and 40 SO. BUT fielding is rough with 13 E. They are obviously trying to convert him to the position ala KJ. Pretty good patience at the plate too. .329 with runners on and .381 in scoring position while drawing more walks than SO’s in both situations.

When will Javy learn that it’s safest to pitch a shutout?
I do not understand the Braves. We jump on Santana last night and then we are getting no-hit against a mediocre pitcher.
Chop It Up All-Stars
Off the disabled list and pitching to a disabled offense.
I like it Mitchell 8:49…
oh javy. no way. break it up
your kidding me right
They also win they always compete with in the divison and they had a really good team when they won in 03
Out of all people The Pitcher breaks up the NO NO
Lets Go Awfense!
How do you like that? In a blog filled with more knee-jerk reactions than I can count, does this mean Sanchez should be pulled?
“Gotta do everything myself!”
Way to go Javy. No, no, no mo’.
Loaf Garret on a blackberry in the clubhouse kicking the couch
Eff yo no hitter!
August 21st, 20099:10 pm
Glad BC didn’t pinch hit for Vasquez
I hear you AndyC and jeffreyd…..Chip has been especially annoying tonight.
PINCH HIT, YOU MORON COX – never mind…..
you can’t trade Vazquez, are you kiding? he’s the only hitter we have…
It takes a Vasquez to end a no-hitter and to build a village
ok so double play here and everything will be back to normal
The guy who spends the least amount of time with TP gets our first hit.
very true hes also our best bunter
August 21st, 20099:11 pm
I knew it. I swear, I knew it.
Sorry to the Reed Gorecki fans out there, he looks clueless.
But I knew Javy would get this guy.
Let’s go Omar.
Pressure of being no hit tonight, GONE!!
Now let’s start hitting.
Mitchell, I was gonna say that reminded me of when the Cameron Crazies got chastised for saying B— S— to the refs, so they started saying “We beg to differ.”
What happened there with Infante?
Other things I don’t like about Chip:
-The way he’ll never end a sentence with a preposition (I guess his real proper grammar in general)
-”Rule book double”
-His gargantuan eyebrows
-His lame jokes/puns (”Braves are as cool as that ice cream”)
August 21st, 20099:12 pm
Oh well. At least we broke up the no hitter.
R U Serious another Fckin DP!!!
Conrad is better than Reid
Javvy taking it on himself to HIT!
Church is going to homer!
Always gets stats wrong also
August 21st, 20099:13 pm
You gotta crawl before you walk. We’ll get a runner to second next inning. And the next inning….we score.
August 21st, 2009
Whaddaya know! Another DP!
Good! Lets hurry up and get this debacle over with. yeah babe.
NO MORE COX OR CHIPPER!
Jeez, the Braves truly are pathetic.
Wow, that was sad.
I miss Martin.
It almost feels like we’re tied now though. The funny thing, is that we are not.
Buckle down Javy. 1-2-3.
August 21st, 20099:14 pm
Yeah, Chip tries to be too eloquent with his verbiage. Just call the damn game and we’ll be happy.
Why does d-bag Caray have to marvel at the double play turn by Uggla? This a Braves broadcast for god sakes, tone it down goofball
Nice offense tonight. Im going to watch my vhs tapes of Fantasy Island.
This is PO-THETIC!!! This is the 3rd time throught the order. The Braves should have this guy figured out by now!
I miss Martin.
Me too man, me too.
August 21st, 20099:15 pm
Unbelievable. The Braves actually took the field to play defense. Someone call mercy rule.
Gorecki might be useful against leftties, but now, there none coming up. He was needed last weekend…
We sure came out swinging the bats tonight, absolutely awful.
August 21st, 20099:16 pm
Carroll, I guess I’m just terminally misunderstood.
Oh the carnage! The Braves haven’t scored two runs in a game since Vietnam!
some more salt in the wound….
That will probably be enough.
glad the offense decided to take the night off in such a big game.
Dammit, this is one of those effin games.
August 21st, 20099:17 pm
and that might do it with this offense thats a helleva lot of runs just a shame to waste such a wonderful start.
That is season folks. Drive home safe.
Double to Waste Helms R U kidding Me!!!
the fat lady is singing
Roger McDowell sighting!
I thought he was on vacation.
August 21st, 20099:18 pm
Dare i say the B word…..
Not really a surprise…the Marlins have been getting into double-digit hit category for a while now.
With the way the Awfense has performed its no wonder why no one shows up to the games…
lol crime dog
Vasquez is so frustrated on the run support its taking a toll on his pitching.
That’s how you bunt. Very pretty.
Good Play by Hoss there being obstructed…
August 21st, 20099:19 pm
Sanchez can do no wrong…text book bunt to go along with great pitching.
the dead corpse (anon)
think how good the live corpse would do
August 21st, 20099:20 pm
need to get a bat to start next season. braves can still be good next year. this year is over.
This is not good.
Man, Diaz is really tearing it up on defense tonight
August 21st, 20099:21 pm
My man its hardly the season get real i mean im pissed off at this performance but season over get real man. This game is not over, much less the season. I know im frustrated myself but to say something like that your an idiot.
One more Javy.
We have to win this one.
August 21st, 20099:22 pm
Come On Javy lets get out of this…!
we’re gonna win this game 4-3. who’s with me??
frenchy with a bomb off of hamels for the mets
August 21st, 20099:23 pm
Is there a Braves player out there that can step up and lead a comeback?
Who is going to step up?
Brandon from Warner Robins
Im with ya Joe..
We did, thanks. I love the penguins, too! They were so cute in their little home-away-from-home today. Once two of them were in the water and raced around and then jumped out at the same time like they were having a race! Then as we were leaving, all but two got in the water and it looked like they were having a pool party.
Yeah, the dolphins should be cool, too. And I love those beluga whales. Daddy does a lot of stuff with them, the penguins, and the sea otters when he goes in on Tuesdays.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
