Paul–

Hey, I know…I have loads of faith in him, too. Matter of fact, I felt a big game coming on…couple more solid games and I think we cann call the slump quits.

I know he’ll have more slumps throughout his career…provided the Lasik surgery he may go for this off-season doesn’t go horribly wrong…

Wayne That’s a multi-hit INNING!

Yeah! Even better! :D

Choppinmama

That was so beautiful…that homer was LONG, too…would love to know how far it flew.

That was a very good throw, as well. After that I was like, “Oo…do I smell a good game for our leader?” So far so good! :D

show ‘em how it’s done. Then…. remember how it’s done. Then…….(wait for it)…………………JUST DO IT!

Wayne in Utah…………….after seeing blog BLOW UP last night and sprew all kind of hate towards Derek Lowe last night because of that 4th inning……I felt the need to point out the obvious: that there is plenty of blame to go around for last night, not just Derek Lowe.

I agree with you on our offense being inconsistent this year. Still, that does not immune them from criticism.

Derek Lowe can go 5-0 in his last 7 starts with an ERA under 3 prior to last night………HOWEVER, once he has a meltdown like he did in the 4th inning last night, then “its his fault that the season is over with”? Yet many on here conveniently forget about how many times the starting pitching has bailed out our “inconsistent” offense this year.

I just wanted to offer some balance to the one sided tilt of the blog last night. If the Braves are truly a play-off contender, then we need the offense to help pick up our starting pitching on nights like last night. What is so unreasonable about that?

I’ll tell ‘ya, I was feeling mighty low after that game last night. We went out for a lovely, delicious anniversary dinner. Zipped home as fast as we could, flipped on the tv and was thrilled to see it 4-0, just starting the bottom of the 4th. FIgured out that something must have happened to Lowe’s hand,,,,,,,,,,he started throwing,,,,,,,,,,,then the beatdown commenced.

I was sure I was the Bad Luck Fan of the night. Sorry, guys Anyway, I’m feeling much better tonight. As is McFann.

Jurrjens4NLCY,

ha! yeah, i obviously cant type either…or spell for that matter.

you bring up a very good point. IF healthy, the mets will have a terrific offense. they would also have a great pen with the return of a healthy putz. their problem lies with starting pitching. im not sure what the starting pitching free agent class looks like after the season but they should be able to pick up a decent starter or two. they do have money to spend…

one thing they dont have, is prospects to package in a trade that would bring a frontline starter. the santana deal has left their farm very thin…

nevertheless, they will find at least another arm to put in the rotation and with everybody coming back, they should be tough. it just seems that the chemistry on that team is flawed though imo.

the east is going to be very tough next year…

another reason tonight and tomorrow are huge, is that we need to go into this week-end in the best shape possible.

We have florida at home, (and we need to have a crowd that rivaled Friday night’s Philly crowd – all week-end!), while Colorado and San Fran begin their tete a tete. Those two teams play each other 6 times over the next week and a half.

Our chance to make our move begins Friday. Let’s win these two first and then go get ‘em.
