Sure, blame vaz for anything less than a perfect game..
It must be tough to go out there every inning thinking that its over if the other team scores a run; you could see vazquez think “ballgame” when he saw the first howard HR.
Meanwhile Happ is giving away BB’s but keeps getting these idiots to swing at pitches out of the strike zone

braveman: yeah but 6 games isn’t a lot. we win 4 out of 6, we only gain 2 games. I mean we’d have to win 5 against them to gain 4; still leaves us 2 out (of course that is assuming both teams win/lose equally against other opponents). I’m just saying that is a tall order.

I have never, ever claimed to have played minor league ball. My right arm was shattered badly by a horse while I was still in college. I worked a few years for minor league teams and scouted for a couple of MLB teams,Jeff. So sorry, dude, no card.
. I learned a hell of a lot more about baseball doing that than I would have playing a few years in the minors. And I have stated B4 that I was very probably not good enough as a player to get out of the minors if I had been healthy. Hell, I listen every day to ex-ballplayers who know next to nothing about evaluating players and situations.
I don’t think much of what you usually say,and I dislike all your in-game negativity at times, but other than a dig here and there I am not the guy(s) who really rip you.

yes 2 mistakes that lead to all 4 runs and a Loss in the biggest game he has pitched as a Brave. Its pretty much his patented blue print for every big game he has ever pitched in. Exactly what Ozy called him out on. He’s had a good year no doubt but he wets his pants on the big stage time after time.

Going with the 90 wins to win the WC assumption, Braves would need to go 29-16 (64%) in their remaining games (assuming also that they lose tonight).
23 of 45 games are at home (51%)
26 of 45 games are against <.500 teams (58%) – SD, Was, NYM, Ari, Hou, Cin

And I don’t hold out any false hope. Quite the contrary. Those of us who are pointing out the Braves will be 3-1/2 games out of the wild-card lead with 46 to play are merely pointing out a fact, Evan. You, on the other hand, are basing your belief on what you think will happen, not on what the Braves have done recently (8-2 in last 10 before tonight, and tied with Phils for best record in NL since June 28 before tonight).
Just facts. Nothing more. You can say season’s over, but really, you need to provide more reason other than, well, because you feel like it is. That is, if you’re trying to get others on your “we’re doomed, Gulliver” bandwagon.

Garett’s been LOAFING quite a bit lately. He hasn’t been producing…running out of steam for sure? I’m sure Heyward could produce a better major league at-bat right now. Anderson was hot for a while there but has gone to freezing cold!

Jake W………dude, I was getting ready to say before Joe Morgan took the words out of my mouth: Ryan Howard can SINGLE HANDEDLY win you a ball game (uh, like tonight with 2 homers, 4 RBIs for all the Phillies offense tonight so far).
When it comes to your “clean-up” hitter…..you want RYAN HOWARD. Chase Utley, who is the more complete player, is the Phillies #3 hitter. However, Utley gets lots of good pitches to hit because he has Howard batting behind him. Why do you think the #4 spot in the order is called the “clean-up” spot? Because it is the #4 hitter in the order’s job to “clean up and clear the bases” when he comes to the plate.

Why the hell GA is hitting in the 2 spot he is slower than the PI$$ out of a dog with clap. Church who is good enough to hit 1st but not 2nd? Bobby I think must have gotten hit in the head with a foul boul in BP. Lots of head injuries in the game these days. The number 2 hitter needs to have a effing clue how to bunt. Not Bobbys number 2 he just has to breath and not listen to rap music in the clubhouse.

You guys want to know why ESPN talks about the Phillie players all night? They’re better players. That’s all there is to it. I love my Braves, but one thing is for sure evident to me in this series. The Phillies are just better than the Braves. Yeah, I know, throw the Braves record against them out there with your counter point, but nobody can deny, position for position, the Phillies are the better team, period.

Not to mention they are defending Champs and leading the division… If you trade jerseys, people on here would be livid if ESPN didn’t talk about the team this way. I don’t have a a problem with the praise that the Phillies are getting because of the of the afore mentioned reasons and they are winning the game. It’s all the time spent on all the other teams that is a head-scratcher to me.
