Whatever “plan” the Braves have in pitching to Ryan Howard, they need to throw it into the garbage and start the F over.
Roger, it does not work! It hasn’t worked since you got here. Time to do something else.
The guy is not Babe Ruth. He’s a .270 career hitter.

The game is over because our lineup sucks. We have no power, no speed, and we are missing key elements to scoring runs in McLouth and Prado.

“Man, how sweet would it be to have a bat like that in our lineup. I like our lineup. But three-run homers are few and far between. Impact power would be HUGE for this team.”

He could be coming and if you listen to what they are saying on Heyward he may actually be better in that he will be the more complete hitter. Not to mention he is younger, how long did it take to get Howard to the bigs? Hopefully he will have many big years with Jason Heyward to come.

Jake W………I have no doubt that Jason Heyward will be fine Major Leaguer. However, he will be hard pressed to hit 50 homers a season like Ryan Howard can. Even when he is struggling, Howard is a THREAT to put on in the cheap seats every time he comes to the plate. He puts stress on a pitcher.

season is over? you idiots do realize that we have a month and half of baseball to play? obviously you dont…. if we do drop this game, IF we drop it, then we will still have a lot of baseball left. we play the phils 6 more times after tonight. we also will have the padres for three, the nats for 7 and the banged up mets for 6.

we also have plenty of games left against the fish…..10 of them. we can still win this division, even with a loss tonight. and if we cant win the division we have a real shot at the wild card.

we are playing the world champions right now. they have a much better team than we do… that is a fact. we have dominated them so far this year. they are do for a couple of wins against us. you “ballgamers!” need to relax. the braves are not winning the world series this year so just watch/go to the games and enjoy them! its going to be ok. maybe we can squeak into the playoffs, maybe we cant. either way will be in it at the end…that i can promise you. next year we will sure up the bullpen and get a bat and have a shot at winning a ring.

basically, a loss tonight is not the end of the world. if you treat it as such then you dont need to be following this team.

2 on, 2 out. maybe we can comeback and win this thing…

I really don’t see how Happ is having so much success other having players swing at pitches out of the zone. He doesn’t have any plus pitches and pitches up in the strike zone. If hitters would lay off the pitches that are out of the strike zone up, I don’t see how he can get guys out consistently.
