I dont mind first-pitch swinging at all. Sometimes, many times (because the pitcher is trying to get ahead) it’s the best pitch you’ll see.

I hate, HATE, when they take weak, first-pitch hacks like Chip and B-Mac just did. If you’re that fooled by the pitch, that off-balance, hold up. You still got two more strikes to work with.

Diaz is wearing out right field when it comes to hitting homers. When Francoeur went to right field, if he got a hit, it was one of those rinky dink hits. Matt Diaz has been hitting homers and doubles to right since the trade.

The Ball Looks so much better seeing it at eye level…Its hard to resist within a fraction of a second

Thats why pitchers are told throw high heat when hitters are behind in the count

Diaz’s homer made him 11-for-18 with three homers and seven RBI in seven games vs. Phillies this season, and 17-for-35 with 12 RBI in his past 13 games against them. He has a .353 career average and 21 RBI in 36 games (91 at-bats) against the Phillies, with nearly a .600 slugging percentage.
