I will never understand why some of you get so butt hurt over a percieved lack of respect for the braves from ESPN, seriously, what difference does it make, will that help them win a game or make the playoffs?
I dont mind first-pitch swinging at all. Sometimes, many times (because the pitcher is trying to get ahead) it’s the best pitch you’ll see.
I hate, HATE, when they take weak, first-pitch hacks like Chip and B-Mac just did. If you’re that fooled by the pitch, that off-balance, hold up. You still got two more strikes to work with.
Diaz is wearing out right field when it comes to hitting homers. When Francoeur went to right field, if he got a hit, it was one of those rinky dink hits. Matt Diaz has been hitting homers and doubles to right since the trade.
Yunel not having a good night, doesn’t usually chase those high fastballs. Thats whats makes him good. He has a good eye but everybody has a bad game once in a while.
Yeah, I know you wanna throw the high heat if you’re ahead in the count. It’s just frustrating when they swing at it if they’re even or ahead in the count.
Don’t worry boys, end of the month and you’ll be in Philly for a weekend series where those warning track shots should be enough for homeruns. Should bold well for our offense in their park, now our pitchers on the other hand…

Diaz’s homer made him 11-for-18 with three homers and seven RBI in seven games vs. Phillies this season, and 17-for-35 with 12 RBI in his past 13 games against them. He has a .353 career average and 21 RBI in 36 games (91 at-bats) against the Phillies, with nearly a .600 slugging percentage.
