Once again, the demon that was Bobby Cox for 14 years has awakened. He should be referred to as the ultimate "Marathon Man", since he manages as if every game were part of the season long marathon, never altering his style to reflect spur of the moment hot or cold streaks or batters who are on a tear. He would rather say that over the course of 162 games, Howard won't hurt you any more than the next guy, oblivious to the fact that THIS WEEKEND, Howards going to rip your heart out! How often have we seen this play out, where one guy continually rakes us over the coals and Cox never changes his approach to the batter?

Paul Lentz, in reading over some previous posts, I've noticed you like to try to insult others' intelligence. Just so you know, "playoffs" and "offseason" aren't hyphenated. I'll stop on this topic for now.

As for the Braves needing many offseason moves, this roster actually is quite stacked, and just what do you want to see Frank Wren do? We have the talent to win the World Series. We really do, and I believe the three best teams in the NL are in this division. (Yes, they are.) We might need some adjustments, but the talent is more than there. It'd be nice if Wren would reacquire John Smoltz (are you listening out there? You're going to sell tickets down the stretch--finally--and you'd sell even more with this guy back).

HUGE game tonight. I'm very glad that Javier Vazquez, our best and most-durable pitcher this season, is on the mound.

Game balls yesterday to Brian McCann for his numerous foul balls and bolstering of Cole Hamels' pitch count and to Atlanta's pitchers for pleasantly-surprisingly leaving runners on third stranded, which was VERY impressive. Also, a great ninth inning.

I absolutely love how the fans came to life when Mike Gonzalez had two outs and two strikes at the time. We need to see more of such fan reactions in Atlanta. I can't tell you how many times Atlanta fans have frustrated me by not being loud at all or by being loud at inopportune times. I've seen fans sit completely quietly at a crucial situation when an Atlanta pitcher had a 1-2 count but then get noisy on a full count. The folks who operate the screen in centerfield only add to this ignorance.

And Please People If we lose Tonight…

Please Refrain from saying “Season Over” knowing that we have 6 more games against the phillies and our last 10 days of the season favor us

I don’t mind people calling Ballgame in the fifth because this offense is so incnsistant but If people want to call “Season Over” In August then get your carcas off the Hooooo-Trrraaaaiiinnnn (Bandwagon) and go to the Falcons/Bulldogs Blogs….

lol McFann, I saw the posts about everyone's age. If it makes you feel better, I thought you were 18 or 19. I was pretty close. :-)

And, T'Hawkin my bad. I thought you were like 35. :-D
