Joe just mentioned LaRoche, McLouth and Church are Phillie killers. Nice tidbit of info.

I just cannot like Cox as a Manager, Mclouth leads off with a double, and he decides to sacrifice the teams hottest bat, and in the end he does not move him over. My problem with that is that Prado could drive him in or hit behind him and move him over so why sacrifice him. HE MANAGES THE SAME way in every situation, little wonder we cannot win the big games.

For the season, LaRoche came into this game batting .339 with a .624 slugging percentage in 51 home games, and .180 with a .307 slugging percentage in 52 road games.

Before being traded to the Braves, he had hit just .159 with a .287 slugging percentage in 45 road games, and had one homer and nine RBI in his last 26 road games.

Since the trade, he’s hit hit .320 (8-for-25) with a homer and four RBIs in seven road games.

I do agree with you in this case about Cox. It’s the first inning against the Phils. You know that you are going to need more than one run in this game. Let Prado swing away. If it were the 7th or later in a tie game then bunt, not in the first.

Cricket, I heard and read good stuff about District 9. I still want to see Moon, which is on at the Plaza here in Atlanta (or at least it was before today, hopefully it’s still there).

I saw The Cove this week. Powerful documentary that’s as suspenseful as a studio thriller. It’s about the illegal slaughter of dolphins in a little town in Japan, where officials look the other way and actually help keep out anyone who tries to get in the way of the lucrative practice.
