I would love to be able to go back in time just to see what the front office would have ultimately done had they not signed Derek Lowe for $45mil. Maybe we could have gotten 1 or 2 really good offensive players that would’ve helped this team. I know…shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Yeah, I did get a bit overzealous in my response didn’t I? That was a very good point you brought up.
I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that for 2.5 mill he’s been worthwhile, especially given his recent “Clowning” (h/t: T-hawkin’), and it’s certainly an argument of far lesser implication than the one with Derek Lowe, so it’s really not that big of a deal if he’s not worth it in terms of finances (but not on-field production). I would point out that fangraphs doesn’t think he’s worth any money whatsoever, but that’s probably an undershoot given his good performance of late (as much as I hate to say it as I’m not a fan of cherry-picking stats).

JasonInFL…………Derek Lowe has pitched terrible tonight. He’s already had to throw 77 pitches to only get through 6 innings. He’s throwing way too many pitches. I cant believe that he’s given up 1 run. Take his A$$ out. He’s overpaid. We should have taken him out of the game in the 1st inning.

Lentz, 77 pitches in 6 innings is not that bad. That is a tick less than 13/inn. If he kept that pace he would throw a complete game @ 117; 8 innings @ 104.
