Kenshin Kawakami pitching on FUMES folks.

He’s gutting this out.

Our brilliant manager won’t take him out, inspite of obvious signs of fatigue.

I meant to say in my last posting that since KK had struck out Asmus twice tonight that Bobby was smart to leave him in. So far so good.

Fantastic job by Kawakami to get out of that mess. I truly hope that Bobby doesn’t run him out there in the eighth, since he surely has used up all his gas and the can of starter fluid in the glovebox.

Hope Ross mans up for that terrible throw that started the mess. No way was that Escobar’s fault.

Gotta give KK credit. Nice job. He had to stay in. Bullpen needs the rest. Of course if this thing goes to extra innings, it will be a wasted effort to save the pen.

But after last night’s 12 inning affair (had to use that word, with the Paul Lentz marital lecture being ongoing on the ole’ blog), it’s nice to see KK gut it out, and Bobby stick with him.

This is one game, that I wouldn’t have ragged on him for leaving him in too long. Pen needs a rest. Fortunately, for the Braves, us fans, Bobby and KK…. he got out of it unscathed.

I told you guys that I liked Bobby leaving Kawakami in to get out of this mess. Runner on third, no outs. Bases loaded, 1 out. Pitching on fumes and Kawakami pulls a Houdini.

Big time performance tonight.

However, if the Braves cant score a run here in the 8th, then many of you will point out that Kawakami is still 5-9 on the season. No run support for Kawakami this season.

abwright

August 9th, 2009

BTW, it would be nice if Bobby pinch hit his A list starters into the game at this point. The Braves could win this one if they had some hitting in the line-up.

Not sayin’ it’s NOT human nature to get outta the way….but…if the Dodgers scored there… there’s not a single Braves player that would not have been po’d at Esco for that “effort”…and if you’re bein’ serious …and don’t know that….well…I just can’t help you…
