Oh, whaddya know? I thought maybe a night would pass where a blogger wouldn’t gripe about ESPN dissing the Braves.

WHO GIVES A FLYING PUCK?

You obviously already know that KK has a 3 hit shutout going, so why are you checking out the hated, evil ESPN anyhow? Glutton for punishment?

The Dodgers have the best record in the NL. Fans around the country care about them. They’re news. They’re a “hot topic”.

None of the above applies to the Braves. When it all did (in the 90’s) ESPN gave the Braves PLENTY of coverage.

But, since you’re all for all MLB teams getting equal rights, and props from the sports coverage, I’m sure you were on a blog complaining that nobody was giving the Royals and Devil Rays props, right?

Didn’t think so.

Pete………living in San Fran is really harsh. I mean, I hate having so many different things to choose from when it comes to recreational activities. I hate having the freedom to not be bound by religion. I hate the fact that there are more straight females out here than straight males. I hate the fact that we dont have winters here. I hate the fact that the government doesnt interfere in our personal lives.

You got me there. Living in the Bay Area is really terrible. I feel like a prisoner, having choices.

DOB,

I prefer hudson in the pen cause if that sinker is working you essentially have two moylan’s out there. plus, KK is more of a flyball pitcher i would say, not really ideal for coming in late into games. Plus, i like o’flaherty, huddy, moylan, gonzo, soriano, medlen, logan/caryle. Finally, KK’s problem is the offense/defense not his pitching

If Escobar goes on over and gets that ball, as you say, Joe, then Escobar gets knocked the eff out and we don’t have our best hitter and SS in the game for a while. But yes, by all means, he should’ve just tackled the runner face first and caught that bad throw. Who cares if it puts him on the DL!

Well, anyone who can read lips…the slow motion replay on David Ross’ throw that wasn’t caught by Yunel…he dropped some big ones…concluded with the WHAT THE FRAK and he stared out to Esco.

I have to say, Yunel is an extremely talanted player who is going to be an ALL star very soon, but darn he can make some bone headed mistakes sometimes.

Getting picked off tonight….and then not even trying to lay some leather on that throw by Ross…yes it was off the mark but he should have tried harder on that play.

DOB…

I’m not advocating Kenshin to the bullpen as a long term solution.

However a trade to the Mariners is an option for 2010.

N8

August 9th, 2009

Horacio Ramirez, Chuck James, Charlie Morton, Jo-Jo Reyes and Kyle Davies all had the occasional brilliant start as well.

It’s a nice problem to have. Don’t get me wrong. But obviously, Vazquez ain’t going to the pain. Neither is Lowe. JJJ to the pen? Yeah right. How about Hanson? I don’t think so. Hudson? Maybe for this year, that makes sense, but doubtful.

KK is the obvious choice, regardless of how well he’s done recently. The Ace of the staff (JJJ) is NOT going to the pen. The Ace of the future is not going to the pen. And three veterans who have proved to be decent starters in the past are also not going.

The “rookie” who has been inconsistent, is the right choice.

Oh. Unless Wren would have traded somebody at the deadline for another bat. Then we wouldn’t be having this convesation.

But, until Hudson is activated, I’m not really worried about it. Even when he IS activated, I’m not going to worry about it.

For starters, we’re probably not going to make the playoffs, so it really doesn’t matter. Secondly, we NEED to see Hudson pitch. So even if KK has to “temporarily” go to the bullpen so Wren can assess who to trade, who to keep, and whether to exercise Hudson’s option or not, I’m cool with it.

Now, if were totally in the thick of the race, and realistically have a shot at October baseball, THEN the decision will be much more critical, imo.
