you cant tell me that you would say “no thanks, I love my wife too much”.
ummmm, yes I can.
I can, too, Lentzie, so I guess that means that you’re the one with the morals prob, eh?
My heart breaks for JH. Addiction is a horrible, horrible thing. I hope he keeps battling back. He’s shown a lot of guts coming back this far, and I’ll keep cheering him on.
Hernandez does nothing but strike out.

Lentz, shut it. Seriously, you can stop typing now.
10 year old girl
Are you saying I have to do nasty things to keep a husband?
Can we please bring back Brooks Conrad to play instead of Diory?

Just in case you miss playing the Expos:
August 8th, 200911:31 pm
Give me a flippin break.
We’re men. We ALL WANT sex. All the time. That doesn’t make us “addicts.”
At some point though, you have to sort of mature and — at least — think about how your actions affect those around you. And again, perhaps, destroy the camera.
Supes, Bowman wrote a story about the ump, got his side of things. That’s what they’re talking about, bro. Me? I had to have my notebook filed at 9 p.m., had to be up here writing at time umpires arrive. Figured Cooper would say what he did anyway, if he talked at all (he did talk, said he called it a ball, etc.) Besides, if Braves had lost the game it would’ve been one thing. They did not. But they still got shafted on that call.
Nate the GR8
I told you guys Lentz needed a 50 day blogging suspension. Come on Commish(DOB) dont turn your head like Selig.
Rob from SC
That looked good.
Can’t understand how Diory Hernandez stayed on the team but Brooks Conrad was sent down.
Lentz, you so remind me of ‘Allan’ from the Hangover. You’re just so painfully awkward you become more and more amusing the more you open your mouth.
August 8th, 200911:32 pm
Johnny Quest – what the heck….kinda out of left field there.
…still made me laugh
August 8th, 200911:33 pm
Lay off Lentz, damn peeps, We got better things to worry about.
Man. That 0-1 pitch was a gift. We’ll take it.
DOB It is a moot point, now. Keep pulling the details and we’ll handle the BS.
Should have been a DP
Damn. This is not good.
August 8th, 200911:34 pm
Shoulda gave him the out since the ump was in the way
chilidog75………..I’m not condoning Hamilton for posing for the pics. I’m pretty sure that he was pretty wasted from the booze and wasnt thinking about that. He had his hand full with those 3 young hotties. I can only imagine what he did with all 3 of them when they got back to his hotel room.
Knowing that he had his hands full, how can we expect him to exercise discretion, especially when he was liquored up?
Also, I dont get this “oh, he embarrassed her by cheating on her”. It’s just sex. Just because you have sex with someone, does not mean that you love them. Women need to understand that professional athletes are under a lot of pressure to perform and under the spotlight a lot. They are faced with temptations that the average man will never encounter.
Sure, it’s easy for most of you to say that it’s immoral. However, if it was you on the road 6 months out of the year…..and you had to turn down hotties on a daily basis…….I’m sure that you would eventually “slip” here and there.
This is when KK usually runs out of gas.
Eh. Not good. Not good.
He looked kinda out at first.
We’re getting screwed over again.
Innocent Bystander: “Pete- I think the point is that while nobody is forcing Josh to drink, he doesn’t have the self-control or self-power to say no. He knows the horrible consequences, so why would he completely willingly do what he did? He is simply powerless at times to his addictions, which is very sad. I can’t say he’s a bad person because of his struggles.”
Im not saying hes a bad person either, even though I dont agree with him or anyone else being “powerless.” I was commenting specifically on the “alcohol killed Billy Martin…drugs killed Steve Howe” BS that guy wrote in his article. Not one word about personal responisibilty, etc. Sounds just like “prostate cancer killed” whomever, as if that were the same. Gimme a break
Another wrong call by an umpire
Another bad call by the umps. He was out.
August 8th, 200911:35 pm
and i’ll never say a bad word about diory again…he’s putting on a show tonight.
And by the by, according to the reports on deadspin, he didn’t go home with any of them. Instead he went to a local strip club to get some blow.
August 8th, 200911:36 pm
Ah, the lessons one learns on the ‘ol blog…
RHR – we’ll see if you change your tune after his next AB
Throw a strike KK!
I have never bashed you before. But as a 28 year old who loves his wife completely, you couldn’t be more wrong.
This is when things get ugly…
How … why….
the three stooges show was just on.
That was the stupidest effin defensive play. Diaz had it!!!
can’t walk Ausmus, of all people. he will NOT hit a HR… throw a strike. saved! wait. no. WTF!!!! wow. that’ll come back to bite us on the ass!
…right after we’re finished watching his Abbott and Costello routine
That, seriously, is going to be the ballgame.
The Dodgers GAVE us an out. On a 3-0 pitch. And couldn’t take advantage.
August 8th, 200911:37 pm
Diory can’t do anything right can he?
It’s OK to get screwed as long as you’re getting kissed on the lips.
Ausmus is and idiot….
Between Lentz’s idiotic postings and that defense, I’m going to explode today.
August 8th, 200911:38 pm
They just played the Tetris theme!
[Non-Paul Lentz related facepalm]
Ausmus has swung at ball four twice now.
That was just ugly. Diory had it all the way … but so did Diaz. Place is loud, I’ll give ‘em that. Don’t know if others couldn’t hear it or if anyone called off everybody
“I’ll never forget the day I got my first Major League hit. I slapped a ball at this Japanese pitcher and it deflect of his glove to the second baseman. He threw me out, but I was called safe.” – Tony A.
“Wow, Grandpa! Just like you dreamed it” – Tony’s grandkids
even better than a foul out. i was wrong. thankfully.
That looked a bit outside. We’ll take it baby.
lmao circus music please
Ausmus is and TOTAL idiot…
Good job – way to get two outs.
Wouldn’t that be the ultimate if the ump was like “JK…it was a ball”
August 8th, 200911:39 pm
That’s 2 that Diory has dropped in one AB.
Does the homeplate umpire always signal the 2B umpire on ball 4 with a runner stealing? I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of that.
Personally, I think Cooper is lying. I remember McCann did have a confused look on his face at the time and looked into the Braves dugout as Bobby was coming out. Also, Eithier didn’t start taking his shinguard off until well after the play. Originally he was standing there watching the play at 2nd waiting for a call there.
A little luck finally goes our way.
August 8th, 200911:40 pm
Wouldn’t that be the ultimate if the ump was like “JK…it was a ball”>/i>
August 8th, 200911:41 pm
KK still doin’ work -
5 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB
Innocent Bystander……….dude, I escaped the chains of religion long ago, when I moved away from the South to the West Coast. I’m not bound by the sex and love crap. If it works for some people, fine. But not everyone believes that sex and love are the same.
This is s free country. If people want to use religion to have their “morals”, more power to them. But those of us who dont want to go along with that crap, are free to do with that.
I dont see how an athlete having random sex with scores of women is “shocking”. Also, having sex with someone other than your wife does not make one “immoral”. It means that a man “is a man”.
I say……..get yours Josh Hamilton, while you can. Dont turn those hotties away.
KK seems possesed right now. He might be pissed because our offense can’t generate any runs.
Let’s hope getting out of that jam sparks the offense here…
August 8th, 200911:42 pm
Would someone CALL it next time? That looked like something destined for major league blooper reels
Good break for the Braves, Dodgers run themselves into a stike them out, tag them out double play.
KK out of the inning…damage control once again!
Paul Lentz, your boy is making you proud tonight I take it?
No worries, I got all of that about Bowman’s part of the story versus what you normally do for the AJC and the blog.
Rest asured we appreciate your work here…even the not necessary updates on a certain NY Met!
KK looks good tonight and we caught a break throwing o dog out.
Back to baseball, buddy. What has Francoeur done tonight?
August 8th, 200911:43 pm
IO…umps try to do somethin’ nowadays…cos’ they used not to do anything…then the runner would get called out stealing 2B …on ball 4…the runner would walk off the base thinking he was “out”…and then REALLY be called “out”…it was a real “turd circus” for sure…
That was a big swing
August 8th, 200911:44 pm
Kenshin doing the tornado!
jeffery d…….if you believe that the vast majority of professional athletes have never been unfaithful………..then you are simply living in fantasy land. These guys live in a different world than the average joe.
Look at it like running for public office. A candidate will run against corruption. However, once he gets in, he finds that it is hard to resist the influence that money plays in politics. Soon, he becomes corrupted.
KK swinging for the fences haha gotta love it until he tweaks somthing.
August 8th, 200911:45 pm
Sooo…how ’bout that baseball game tonight? It’s a pretty good one…
OK Paul, why are you so hell bent on discussing this “issue” with Josh Hamilton?
Most blog regulars posted 1 time on this matter, said their peace (like I did) and moved on?
Why can’t you drop it and move on and focus on the game at hand or a baseball topic for a change?
August 8th, 200911:46 pm
You do know you have the constitutional right to remain silent, right? You’re killing yourself tonight . . .
KK is dealin.
I knew sacrifcing that live Komodo Dragon would do the trick.
He looks like a different pitcher.
Joe and Boog doing a lot of bragging on LA’s pitcher but the score is 0 to 0.
oooooookay, Paul. You would know.
Disappointingly, KK at bat wasn’t the worst tonight
KK, at least you swung at a strike.
The Bird and Indian
John: Did you really call ballgame at 11:31. You’re sad. You’re real sad.
Paul Lentz is...
August 8th, 200911:47 pm
…what is wrong with America.
stick a fork in me………..
They’re bragging on Kershaw because they’re trying to jinx him.
DOB: I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don’t know how it works. Do you actually hear what the anouncers are saying? Do you sit near them or talk to them between innings? Do you watch the game on a tv moniter? How does it work?
August 8th, 200911:48 pm
Boog and Joe do that all the time.
Prado is about to turn on one, folks.
I’ve seen games where it was shame that either side HAD to lose….this game is kinda the opposite of that …(if ya smellllllll …what the John ….is cookin’ )
Paul Lentz is……what is wrong with America.
Thats a little over dramatic. C’mon people! We got a good game going! Focus.
August 8th, 200911:49 pm
unlucky charms – If you get O’Burned for that question, I’ll take some of the heat with you because I wonder that stuff too.
clever name, too
Add Kershaw to the list of top prospects who skip AAA.
whos o dog?
August 8th, 200911:50 pm
Well, technically, he did turn on it.
… and then hit it weakly to third. Oh well.
Paul Lentz: “If any of you guys went to a bar and you had 3 young hotties come up to you and want to worship your body like you was Caligula and do any nasty thing that you have fantasized about……you cant tell me that you would say “no thanks, I love my wife too much”.”
How do you know they came up to him, as opposed to the other way around?
Jurrjens – he’s actually uniting the blog. Heck, Paul Lentz could get Muslims and Jews on the same page if it meant disagreeing with him.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
