How are the KJ haters going to deal with that?
Eric In Albany N.Y.
THAT IS WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME PEOPLE!
EVERYONE HERE CHALKED THIS UP AS A LOSS!
EVERYONE BUT ME!
CT in AL
Im officially in the KJ Fan Club!!
That celebration with Marteeeen in the dugout was awesome.
See, Steve told y’all Kelly was an above average player!
Kelly haters…. Come out and plaaayaaaay!
Um…maybe we might need to hang on to KJ for occasions like this…
I didn’t say we lost.
Bill in VA
It’s almost as if it was stupid to not have his bat in the lineup tonight. Especially with every other starter out.
August 9th, 20091:23 am
Good to see KJ with a smile in the dugout. It’s been a rough year for that dude.
OH……….MY……….GOD………….I take back all my “the curse of Kelly Johnson posts over the weeks.
Pete……….so let me get this straight? San Francisco city government is “so bad” to you because they “force” businesses to offer health benefits to homosexuals?
Look, I tell my gay friends that they are NUTS for wanting to get married. However they should have the legal right to. The only basis for banning gay marriage is religion. And the last time I checked, dont we also enjoy FREEDOM FROM RELIGION in America?
For you to say that gay people arent entitled to have their partners covered by their work insurance plans says that you dont think that gay people should enjoy the same rights as straight people. Do you think that gay people dont deserve to be paid minimum wage? Do you think that labor laws should not apply to gay people?
Dude, it is people like you live up to the “southern stereotype”. You think that people from San Francisco are weird? Well pal, here’s a new flash for you: People out here think that people like you are uneducated, bigoted, homophobic, racist, redneck, religious freaks.
Wait, are you guys saying Diory couldn’t have hit one like that? …lol
Luke – LOL….good one
Just missed that one.
wow that was close
August 9th, 2009
Heath, but if we got them, they would change it to, “You can ground it on the graaaaaaasssss”. No!”
Not funny…because it’s true.
Sign me up Steve. Fill up the Kelly Johnson mug and drink it in.
My my my.
I’m speechless. I thought it could happen. Amazing.
Those boys better be ready out there. Don’t mess around.
Lotta Braves fans. Love it.
Rob from SC
The good news is Josh Johnson pitches against the Phillies, the bad news is the face Marlin killer Moyer.
Can KJ play 1B next year
August 9th, 20091:24 am
Kelly turned on that pitch. If Soriano can get the save here, this could turn out to be a huge win…….provide Javier Vazqez can get the job done tomorrow.
Make him work Nate.
Stay hot Kelly Johnson!
NO THEY DIDN’T!
Medieval was called….
7.21 AM CET was called……..
Gotta stitch this one up now Bravos!!!!!!!!!!!!
ugh….seeing Kelly homer and McLouth walks just makes you wonder what would’ve happened if they had been in the whole game
August 9th, 20091:25 am
Kelly Johnson lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a clutch hit!!
HELL YES KJ!!!
Kelly is trying to hide a huge smile lol cute.
Kelly has been a huge part of why we might win these last two games. That was awesome as FU**!
I’m doin the maniac dance in my living room!
Medlen was raised a Dodgers fan in Norwalk, about 30 minutes from Dodger Stadium. His high school coach and his younger brother are here tonight.
How are we still talking politics in the midst of the possibility of our two biggest back-to-back wins all season???
August 9th, 20091:26 am
“I Look at my gay friends NUTS” – Paul Lentz
Seriously, this has to stop.
Now if he can only smack a game winner next weekend against Philly!
Rob from SC,
KJ can play LF next year (at the very least in a platoon role with Matt Diaz).
Chop It Up All-Stars
Let’s get some more…never enough against this team.
hey hey, Church, Soriano could use 2 more!!
The Bird and Indian
I said a long time ago I felt good about this game. I don’t know why. Even with the bases loaded situation I put, I feel good about this.
we are winning with just 3 HITS!
Now dammit you boys go home and play the Natinals this way, eh?
The past three nights have felt like October … my heart is pounding. God, I love baseball!
Gotta hold onto this one, but winning last night the way this team did, and winning tonight (with the JV lineup starting and with KK on the mound) against the class of the NL could light the candle on a streak that pushes this team toward October.
Wow … gotta get three more outs first.
August 9th, 20091:27 am
I will wait to cheer until I see if it is the good or bad Soriano. Should have left Medlen in.
No but Prado can!
Congrats, Bird and Indian
Paul, has Kelly moved out of your doghouse yet? I know its very important to him.
He’s got to be close at least, right? Guy’s been huge lately.
Paul Lentz won’t let go…is the simple answer to your question
August 9th, 20091:28 am
ssiscribe your not from saint simons are you?
Steve, your 1:22 could have only been better if you offered a poster instead of a mug LOL
August 9th, 2009
I’m doin the maniac dance in my living room!
I would be…..but man it’s late. I’m not tryin’ to sound old, but 29 isn’t the same as 19 was…
There is enough at bats for Prado and Johnson. Chipper needs a lot of days off. I would let Kelly play left and leave him in 1 spot of the order.
I guess Kelly Johnson is now on Mota’s “to be plunked” list…well earned.
That was a terrible strike three call. Church had a right to be upset. Clearly outside.
August 9th, 20091:29 am
Now im Xing My Fingers!
come on boys lets wrap this thing up!
Steve from OH
God, I love baseball!
I was just about to post this.
I’m surprised that so few of you took me up on the mug offer. That’s all right. I’m in the poster.
jeffrey d: Yeah, but I’m always optimistic which sucks a lot of the time. Where are the 4 posters that said ballgame when it was 0-0.
Paul will point to some obscure 0-fer stretch when talking about Kelly, and ignore these past couple of games.
August 9th, 20091:30 am
Let’s close it out.
Lentz, if we gave a shiet what you san franciscans thought about atlantans, maybe what you are saying would matter one iota.
Brooklyn Braves Brawler
As the biggest KK apologist on the blog, I understand the frustration with him at times but, today’s outing is why I love the guy. He is a big game pitcher, pure and simple. He pitched like mad man today and he battled in his start against the Padres last week. The guy can pitch, PERIOD!
I will now take the time to eat my words about KJ. I have dogged him regularly but the kid is one of the streakiest hitters I have ever seen. I still favor Marteen in everyway as an everyday player in the field, KJ is valuable to this team and deserves to be a Brave.
KJ, great job saving our bacon last night and tonight!
So all you gotta do to fine someone is point at them??
wonder what would have happened if he ducked and it hit the bat boy, bat boy surely couldn’t pay that fine.
“How are we still talking politics in the midst of the possibility of our two biggest back-to-back wins all season???”
WE are not talking politics. Paul Lentz is talking politics to himself. In fact, if it weren’t for me (the guy who ignored those “don’t feed the bears” signs as a kid), Paul would be talking to himself in general.
But the man is so frickin stupid, that I can’t help to respond. It’s almost as though somebody is posting as him, to purposely make him look as stupid as possible and to get my goat. (My goat’s name is Steve)
I realize that I should just step away from the keyboard. But I’ve realized that many times, and it hasn’t stopped me yet. So…
N8………If Tommy Hanson started the season in the pitching rotation, then he would have been eligible for salary arbitration a year early. Also, the Braves didnt want him to pitch in the big leagues without spending some time in Triple A. The Braves did the absolute right thing in bringing him up when they did in June. Tommy Hanson pitched in Double A last year. How many starting pitchers make the jump from Double A to he bigs? Name me a few.
I only suggest that knowing that Garret Anderson will not be back, and that Ryan Church will MOST likely not be back as well.
So that leaves an OF spot open. KJ used to be an OF-er. It’s a good situation. Plus if it came down to it…he could still fill in at 2B if need be.
Dear Kelly Johnson,
On behalf of the Atlanta Braves and all of their fans you are hereby forgiven for that pathetic dropped ball last season that caused the downward spiral of the team. All fans and staff, including Frank Wren, are ordered to remove your face from all punching bags and dartboards, and donate them to the Kelly Johnson fan club headed by Steve from OH, who will place the pictures on mugs for all members. Any pictures, such as Frank Wren’s, which can no longer be identified of being of yourself will be tossed into the circle of fire at the next Kelly Johnson Fan Club meeting. Your presence would be appreciated at this event to take place shortly after tonight’s game. Thank you

Eric In Albany N.Y.
You better scratch me off your list. I said after KK struck ‘em out in the 7th that this was a game we were going to win.
I for one never said “ballgame”.
The only time I’ve said that recently was when Yunel hit that three run bomb off of Lincecum in Atlanta becuase I knew it was a knock out blow.
Not over yet though.
did anyone else think the braves were a lot patient at the plate in the 10th inning?
Braves fans gotta reason to be excited about the rest of this season. They’ve outplayed LA so why can’t we dominate the rest of the way?
Sorry, this game ain’t over yet but I can’t help it.
Second night in a row I woke up the entire house … been a long time since this team caused me to scream in delight in the middle of the night.
Clayton, not from there, but lived in the Isles for a few years. Awesome place. Kids were born down there. Part of my heart always will be down there along the shores of the SSI.
Get these three outs Rafael!!
Hey Lentz, take you gay rant elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 runs is enough right?
Aight, MFIKY. You’re up.
Ride KJ’s hot streak
jeffrey d: Yeah, but I’m always optimistic which sucks a lot of the time
Please don’t ever leave
August 9th, 20091:32 am
“KJ, great job saving our bacon last night and tonight!”
After all, you never know when Paul Lentz will need a new drivers liscence.
Why not leave Medlen in
great start by Soriano…..
no rust Soriano, need this one
it aint over till its over
I’m a goat!?!? Whaa…?
oh god……Soriano is NOT who we want pitching right now.
Have a bad feeling
Let’s go Soriano!!
not this again
DP right here
Darn it Soriano…stop Fraking around.
Now strike that MF out!
I sure hope this is the good Soriano tonight…(biting nails).
juan pierre continues to show us why he’s not good enough for a Braves uni
Not so fast my friends…
MFIKY better come corrected is all I have to say.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
