Pete……….so let me get this straight? San Francisco city government is “so bad” to you because they “force” businesses to offer health benefits to homosexuals?
Look, I tell my gay friends that they are NUTS for wanting to get married. However they should have the legal right to. The only basis for banning gay marriage is religion. And the last time I checked, dont we also enjoy FREEDOM FROM RELIGION in America?
For you to say that gay people arent entitled to have their partners covered by their work insurance plans says that you dont think that gay people should enjoy the same rights as straight people. Do you think that gay people dont deserve to be paid minimum wage? Do you think that labor laws should not apply to gay people?
Dude, it is people like you live up to the “southern stereotype”. You think that people from San Francisco are weird? Well pal, here’s a new flash for you: People out here think that people like you are uneducated, bigoted, homophobic, racist, redneck, religious freaks.
Kelly turned on that pitch. If Soriano can get the save here, this could turn out to be a huge win…….provide Javier Vazqez can get the job done tomorrow.
The past three nights have felt like October … my heart is pounding. God, I love baseball!
Gotta hold onto this one, but winning last night the way this team did, and winning tonight (with the JV lineup starting and with KK on the mound) against the class of the NL could light the candle on a streak that pushes this team toward October.
As the biggest KK apologist on the blog, I understand the frustration with him at times but, today’s outing is why I love the guy. He is a big game pitcher, pure and simple. He pitched like mad man today and he battled in his start against the Padres last week. The guy can pitch, PERIOD!
I will now take the time to eat my words about KJ. I have dogged him regularly but the kid is one of the streakiest hitters I have ever seen. I still favor Marteen in everyway as an everyday player in the field, KJ is valuable to this team and deserves to be a Brave.
KJ, great job saving our bacon last night and tonight!
“How are we still talking politics in the midst of the possibility of our two biggest back-to-back wins all season???”
WE are not talking politics. Paul Lentz is talking politics to himself. In fact, if it weren’t for me (the guy who ignored those “don’t feed the bears” signs as a kid), Paul would be talking to himself in general.
But the man is so frickin stupid, that I can’t help to respond. It’s almost as though somebody is posting as him, to purposely make him look as stupid as possible and to get my goat. (My goat’s name is Steve)
I realize that I should just step away from the keyboard. But I’ve realized that many times, and it hasn’t stopped me yet. So…
N8………If Tommy Hanson started the season in the pitching rotation, then he would have been eligible for salary arbitration a year early. Also, the Braves didnt want him to pitch in the big leagues without spending some time in Triple A. The Braves did the absolute right thing in bringing him up when they did in June. Tommy Hanson pitched in Double A last year. How many starting pitchers make the jump from Double A to he bigs? Name me a few.
Dear Kelly Johnson,
On behalf of the Atlanta Braves and all of their fans you are hereby forgiven for that pathetic dropped ball last season that caused the downward spiral of the team. All fans and staff, including Frank Wren, are ordered to remove your face from all punching bags and dartboards, and donate them to the Kelly Johnson fan club headed by Steve from OH, who will place the pictures on mugs for all members. I only suggest that knowing that Garret Anderson will not be back, and that Ryan Church will MOST likely not be back as well.
So that leaves an OF spot open. KJ used to be an OF-er. It’s a good situation. Plus if it came down to it…he could still fill in at 2B if need be.
