Cameron–yeah, I like Jones a lot. You’re lucky, I just get to see the G-Braves once a year. Saw ‘em tonight. They got stomped on.
But on the plus side, Van Pope got his average above .200 and Brandon Jones actually hit a home run…

Bobby is so predictable. Moylan and O’Flaherty warming up, anyone who has watched Bobby manage for all these years knew that O’Flaherty would only be facing Ethier, and that Moylan would enter the game immediately afterward. Moylan was wrung dry in 2007 and he got hurt as a result, and now he’s fresh off Tommy John surgery this year and leading the majors in appearances! I just don’t see the logic in this move. Bobby Cox mismanages the bullpen grossly. At least Moylan has been largely effective this year, but how much longer can his freshly-repaired arm hold up at this rate?

Told ya. Moylan looks like he did in ‘07 right now which it could be that his arm is strengthening even after having the most app. in MLB so far this year. DAMN, that was a huge out right there.

Uh, I wouldnt say “brilliant since the break” like John Schiambi just said. He did have the meltdown in the San Francisco game (even though he didnt get charged with any earned runs). I’d say that he has been good since the All-Star Break.

Moylan ERA down to a respectable 3.56. Certainly lifted his game these last few weeks.
Be interesting to see how his arm holds up after surgery last year and being way overused by bobby

Yeah I live about 20 minutes from Danville so iv been the last 3 night(but got rained out lastnight) and ill probably go tomorrow, plus the ticket price of $4.00 isnt bad at all. But Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg is the real deal. He stood and talked to me for about 10 minutes last night before they called off the games and he an awesome guy, and a great player. I think he will be good. If Freeman is a bust, this kid looks good. I hope the Braves have someone to play him later if he continues to get better. Also with a name like that, and since hes from South Africa, you’d think he has a accent, but he talks better english than I do.

pryguy…….the reason Moylan was batting there is because he needs Moylan to get through the 8th before handing the ball to Soriano in the 9th. If he can avoid it, Bobby Cox would rather not use Gonzalez tonight (he has pitched in back to back games).

What the hell is Bobby thinking? Moylan already leads the league in relief appearances, and instead of letting him do his job and then use a real hitter with a man in SCORING POSITION and 2 outs, he trots up his overused and (in this case) overmatched pitcher to hit when he has plenty of good hitting options sitting on the bench. Is Bobby asleep? Or can he not trust anyone else to pitch the 8th and we’ll see Moylan’s elbow explode about Sept 1st? And to top it off, he puts in Church as a defensive replacement when he could have used him as a pinch hitter as well…..and now a double by Blake against the overused Moylan.

Man it would be nice to have more than 3 trustworthy arms out there.
We’ve got a lineup that has a hard time scoring runs, and Bobby just gives an out away with Moylan at the plate.

Not too often, but that’s usually because most managers are cautious with them. Besides, can you imagine what would happen on here if that move did actually backfire? The horror!

Does Bobby not understand how to do a double switch? If you know you want Moylan in the 8th, don’t bat him in a spot where he’s going to come up in an RBI situation. I’m sick of us wasting opportunities for insurance runs because of our limited bench. Get some guys on the 25-man roster who can actually play!!!!!
