I know my mom saw Elvis a couple times and I think my dad did too…my parents were hippies and my mom was a hairdresser in addition to being a hippie lol so theres not much they haven’t seen. I need to ask them sometime about who all they’ve seen, only reason I know about Elvis is because mom has some photos and a couple souvenirs from his shows.

I’m at Teheran’s single-A debut. He worked a perfect firs striking out all 3 he faced, ran into trouble in the 2nd (a single, double, walk, and a run), but recorded 3 groundouts, and pitched a perfect 3rd that included a groundout and 2 weakly hit air outs. I’m very impressed. Infante is playing 3rd. He singled in his first PA and walked in his 2nd PA.

It was about 100 family and friends of Hanson here today, not the 50-60 that Medlen said. Discrepancy was due to fact that Hanson left about 60 tix, the most he could round up, but another 40 or so bought their own.

Hanson admitted he was a little geeked up with all those friends and family members in the crowd, particularly since you could hear them clearly at times in a smallish afternoon crowd of 20,423.

“I was trying not to think that way,” Hanson said. “But yeah, that was in the back of my mind. Hearing some familiar voices yelling was kind of funny. I wanted to get through that first inning. After that, I was fine.”

When someone finds out that they have no competition, they get bored, much like Tommy Hanson at Gwinnett. They wonder why they aren’t being promoted and what more do they have to do? Worst performance I ever saw was Aerosmith (wee hours of morning) as the closing act for the Champagne Jam, an outdoor festival at Bobby Dodd Stadium (then Grant Field) in 79′. They were, as were most in the crowd, too blitzed to play, chaos ensued. Somebody in the crowd had a tug-of-war with Tyler over his mike stand. The fan had hold of one of several scarves tied around the stand, ST had hold of the stand itself. It lasted for quite a few seconds. Then folks began throwing stuff on stage. Stephen Tyler’s parting shot was “so long mf’ers.” lol

Saw them a few months later at Omni. Joe Perry wasn’t with them this time. They were terrific!

Mother’s Finest was at the Jam, and backed up Aero at the Omni as well. Loved/love them too, seen them probably a dozen times.

3 weeks really isn’t much of a sampling, if he can maintain or improve for the rest of the month, and we’re in the race come September, then maybe he gets a call.
