I don’t even know where to go with that…most of what I want to say is unprintable
McLouth just singled “ONE MORE TIME” :\

Britney Spears fan having a day
Have a day Nate!
August 5th, 20094:43 pm
Nate’s got ‘hit me baby one more time’ in his head tonight…3-3
keep piling on the hits
cabravesfan – and, that would be different from your normal conversation, how???
August 5th, 20094:44 pm
OK, I think I’m gonna take this recommendation I got here and eat dinner at a fish place by the San Clemente pier. Who can meet me there about 6:30?
August 5th, 20094:45 pm
Oh my, I just realized that Kawakami is going to face the Dodgers. Who many runs do you guys think he will give up during that game?
Yeah, me and my cleanup spot, hahahaaa…yelgth…
See ya there Dave. Ill even pick up the tab
Wow! Eight hits by the Braves already! Never mind that they’re all singles, you take what you can get.
August 5th, 20094:46 pm
it isn’t – just can’t type it here
If I leave right now…
August 5th, 20094:47 pm
Come on, Heap. Granny it up for McFann.
Dear Mr. McCann,
We need a grand slam. Like now.
Braves fans everywhere
A hit! That works too.
Can we get our first GS for the season now please?
What’s the score?
August 5th, 20094:48 pm
Mac comes through! WOOOO HOOOO!!!
Always like how Hoss doesn’t try to do too much with two strikes.
Mac! Nice buddy !
BOO-YAH! That’s more like it, BMac!
August 5th, 20094:49 pm
GM of the year baby
I was thinking the same thing. His creepy quotient just rose a good bit with me.
Oh, a Grand Salami woulda been a beauty. But haha, I’l take the 2-run single!
August 5th, 20094:50 pm
McCann giveth, McCann taketh away
McFann? Maybe you just need to be quiet.
Jesus learn to run the bases McCann. He might be gone next year if I can get enough in return
August 5th, 20094:51 pm
Pad those stats today, boys…it’s back to major league competition tomorrow.
Well, that was dumb…and BMac knew it.
You just can’t let me have a moment, cann you BMac?
Chipper 3 for 3, 3 kotchman-home runs, i mean singles… I remember a time when teams were so afraid to pitch to Chipper from the left side of the plate with RISP, that they would change the pitcher just to turn him around. Now, they dont do it anymore, not even with the bases loaded… thats how good Chipper has been this season, specially from the left side.
Score is 6 – 0, middle of the fourth.
Pathetic single for McCann.
He needs to wake the f*** up and start playing like he has a pair. Makes me sick.
(That’s how McFann would be if she were an angry, middle-aged dude.)
August 5th, 20094:52 pm
Yeah, maybe I better.
He just likes to be the last out…
Guess the two players in our lineup with the lowest batting averages? Yup. The two schmucks we got from Pittsburgh. They both just suck!
August 5th, 20094:53 pm
Paging cabraves…I think Dave wants to have dinner with you.
Uh…Haha, don’t even know if I’d go that far…
McCann obviously striving to reach the pinnacle: “BUM” status from Dense.
Rumored to know who Britney Spears is. Tradeable offense in itself.
We’re saving our Grannys for later in the year….for the Dramatics!
August 5th, 20094:54 pm
I think you missed my response
August 5th, 20094:55 pm
I’m gonna start “calling” McCann McMORON from now on
RHR – did you miss her 4:46?
Ok let me get this straight. Chipper sucks when he doesn’t get a hit but he sucks when he hits singles too. I think I understand now. He has to hit a HR every single time he steps to the plate or else he sucks. Got it.
August 5th, 20094:56 pm
I’m going with McDamn.
You know, because I say “damn” a lot after he makes yet another horrifically soul-crushing play.
Glad you’ve caught up, RHR.
Looking ahead to tomorrow: LaRoche has five homers and 15 RBI in 13 career games at Dodger Stadium.
August 5th, 20094:57 pm
wheelz007, no problem. Braves have 11 hits after four innings. McClouth is 3 for 3, as is Chipper. Prado, McCann, Anderson, LaRoche and Church all have a hit. Escobar is the only position player who hasn’t joined the hit parade.
That has to be some type of record…11 hits, and they’re all singles.
Whatta ya waiting for, go get it girl. Maybe he can talk Tommy and Kris into tagging along. Heck I’d fly out myself for that…I could make it if I boarded a plane immediately and parachuted into the parking lot of whatever place he said.
RHR – DOB should ask her about Saturday night – they will be in the same place.
August 5th, 20094:58 pm
Apparently I did, Jim…I swear all the posts don’t always show up. Or something.
Hanson walks another guy. Also, once saw a picture of Britney Spears. The package of McLouth, McCann, and Hanson should bring back a couple of good prospects.
August 5th, 20094:59 pm
Marteeeeen just gets it done.
Prado hanging in there and making another DP turn with a guy taking him out.
Steve from OH
Pretty much, RHR. If you recall, that’s why Tex sucked too.
wow Kouzmanoff is pretty slow too. Cool.
August 5th, 20095:00 pm
If we are going to call KK our 5th starter, then we can say he is good. Yeah, a little exoensive for a 5th guy, but he would have the 9th best ERA among 5th starters in the majors. And he would probably have the most starts among those guys except for a few, since most of them are guys who have been called up halfway through. Would you rather have someone like Sergio Mitre (7.90 ERA), Homer Bailey (7.06), Gio Gonzalez (6.31), or Chad Gaudin (you just saw him) pitching every fifth day? I’m glad FW went and got kawakami, just wish it could have been a little cheaper of a price. A 4.38 ERA isn’t so bad, especially if he can get enough run support coming.
Yeah that just occurred to me, Jim. Why go to him, he should be the one going to her.
La Jolla Dawg
Why couldn’t they play like this on Monday night, when I was there? Sheesh.
DOB, if you are leaving downtown San Diego at 6:00, you won’t make it to San Clemente by 6:30. Rancho Santa Fe, maybe, San Clemente no way.
I don’t mean to sound like a Baseball Prospectus writer here, but I get the feeling that Kevin Kouzmanoff will not be a part of the next winning Padres team.
August 5th, 20095:01 pm
Yeah…what a hack that Tex was.
August 5th, 20095:02 pm
So, which sad soul was it who listens to Britney Spears?
August 5th, 20095:03 pm
At least we aren’t sitting around waiting on 3-run homers….
Buffalo NY Braves Fan
Do you actually read the blog?
The Royals designated Ryan Freel for assignment today. Six months ago fellow bloggers would have given their first born for him. I wonder what the going rate is today?
Rob from SC
The Padres shopped Louzmanoff hard earlier in the season but found zero takers.
Of course he should come to me! You would expect nothing less either
August 5th, 20095:04 pm
Obviously you do to.
Whats the purpose of the blog if you don’t read it.
Although for good seafood…
Chip Caray just said the most true thing he ever has. Padres Third Baseman won win GG because he doesnt hit enough and plays in a small market. Those awards go to NY and Boston players. David Wright will probably win it at third.
Why couldn’t they play like this on Monday night, when I was there? Sheesh.
You live in La Jolla, dude. You need to be let down every now and then.
RHR / Steve from OH,
Chipper has lost a lot of power from the left side of the plate, dont know if its related to his age, or mechanics. I was just saying that teams dont even bother to turn him aorund anymore, not that he sucks… He’s a great hitter, but the same hitter that everybody (other teams) used to fear.
That’s all i was saying… 3 for 3, 3 singles, no RBIs, no XBH… and lately, thats all he’s doing, single after single, strikeout after strikeout… and no power…
August 5th, 20095:05 pm
“If you recall, that’s why Tex sucked too.”
Nope. Tex “sucked” (for lack of better term), because more often than not when the game was in doubt and a simple base hit would have won a game for us, he failed. Yet he piled up HR and RBI in clumps in many meaningless moments.
And like Chipper this year, his manager didn’t do him any favors by keeping in the middle of the order, when perhaps there were better (hotter) options to temporarily put there.
August 5th, 20095:08 pm
If you read the blog, you’d know the answer……
but the same hitter = but not* the same hitter
Does anyone know what kind of shoulder surgery Jorge Campillo had. Was it a cleanup job or was it a rotator cuff/labrum
August 5th, 20095:09 pm
Ryan Freel is cut from the “Eric Byrnes” cloth. All hopped up on “something.”
Don’t like ‘im.
and no power…
In the words of the great Leon Phelps, au contraire, bonjour. Chipper’ SLG is 53 pts. above the league average and his ISO is 31 points above the league average. His power is down, not bad.
August 5th, 20095:10 pm
Church is 2 for 2 now.
Just logged on. Read through the blog. Feel like an idiot.
August 5th, 20095:11 pm
If Schafer struggles in spring training next year (though I don’t think he will), I honestly think we should go into the year with McLouth/Church/Heyward in LF/CF/RF. But if Schafer impresses we’d have McLouth/Schafer/Heyward. And if Heyward isn’t up yet, we can keep Church in right to start the season. He really gives us a lot of options next year since he is a decent bat and can play all 3 of the outfield positions at least adequately.
August 5th, 20095:13 pm
what the heck, more technical difficulties? C’mon, I wanna see the game
Nova Scotia Steve
August 5th, 20095:14 pm
I usually kick the computer power cord when something bad happens. Must have happened with the SS truck guys
Gee, It would’ve been nice to see Church throw the guy out at the plate. Too bad SS sucks…
What a beautiful double play. If only I could’ve actually SEEN it. Dammit.
THB–do you think we’ll tender Church a contract next year if our plans are to play Schafer and Heyward? Because we have to make that decision by December (IIRC).
Nice throw by Church, but bad call by the ump. Dude was safe.
He was safe…:(
Sounds like it was a great play…
August 5th, 20095:16 pm
Headley was safe.
so… they promised a replay that they never… replayed
SS = major FAIL!
Get it together guys, you’re supposed to be pros.
Braves never catch a break, right?
F***ing morons. I don’t even know why I blog here.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
