WOW!!! The show is very cool. I just got into this show in the last 20 minutes after coming back from the Braves game and I see it is replayed at 12am and I think I will have to watch the whole thing.
As a History major and one who loves this stuff i like the way this program is doing this. Thanks for the heads up or I would never have found it.
I’ve always felt if it’s your time, it’s your time, no matter where you are. No need to worry bout flying, or much else for that matter; more apt to get it in a car anyway….
If we traded a first basemen starter but gained a first basemen starter might mean in the end we saved a minor prospect or two for a reliever to be traded for in August.
Speculation talk at this point, but it’s something to think about especially if Adam helps in the offensive category and we didn’t have to trade prospects to get him.
I have basically the same feelings… Hence my decision to go white water rafter and SKY DIVING! I jumped from 13,000 feet in the air! Whew. What an adrenaline rush.
I know where there’s a Bald Eagle’s nest at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Preserve, Nawth of Rome. Don’t have leave state to see them, if you know where and when to look.
McCutchen should be a good player for the Pirates for a several years to come. If your the Pirates, the HRs are nice, but you don’t want that guy hitting a lot of fly balls with that speed.
Oh man…a nest would be so amazing to see! Gotta get out there some time…The cool thing about the Eagles is they go back to the same nest every year. Just keep adding on more stuff.
Ever heard one before? They make such a cute little sound! I’m pretty sure I heard one up in Yorktown, VA…or was that Jamestown, VA? I forget, one of those…
It’s kind of interesting. My wife is a University Administrator so she’s tied in to all of those college sites. Apparently there is a LaRoche College (very true), a Catholic University outside of Pittsburgh. Their President, Sister Ignatia is in mourning because Adam went south. Seems he did a good bit of charity and PR work for them and had developed a good relationship.
Would seem to me that this trade broke many wmoen’s hearts-for one reason or another.

I’m glad Roachy is back. I was glad he got traded when he did, because we got one hell of a pitcher for him, and I was sick of reading comments here from some cracking on him. The guy has had his moments, (growing pains, mostly), but he can hit, and if he gets hot, he can REALLY hit. He’s a very good fielder, so I think this move could help for the remainder of the season.
Scalp Em-I’m kind of non caring about this trade. I’m not overly sorry Kotchman is gone-wouldn’t have minded if he stayed. I have nothing against LaRoche and if his presence ignites Him, Chipper and McLouth then it will have been a worthwhile move. If he only puts up Kotchman numbers power wise, we won’t be hurt. Lke I said. Ho Hum. Oh well.
In a way I hope McCutcheon is the guy who FINALLY gets the Pirates going. . . 17 straight losing seasons. . . It would be great for baseball if teams like Pittsburgh and Kansas City had a winning season. Did you see Royals fans early this season when they were winning. Those fans are hungry and deserve good baseball…
Hell, look at the way we’re reacting and we’re going on four years out of the playoffs.
McFann-Got to hold a three month old Carolina Cougar (the four legged type not one from a reality show) and as cute as it was, it had really sharp claws and could have torn you apart if it so desired.

Eh. They’ll trade him off next year.
I was just thinking today how sucky it must be to be a Pirates fan. I wonder how people even become Pirates fans in the first place. Oh well, at least they got the Steelers. And that hockey team.
Most impressive looking bird I’ve seen in the wild is a Barn Owl. Just massive size, and predators to the max. I love hawks too, and there’s plenty of them. Vultures are fascinating birds, kinda ugly and gross, but huge and very graceful in flight, even if it is in circles.
Shamus I would think a simple “Have a nice flight” would do nice but the videos ….ummm that ain’t right…
Being scared of dying in a plane crash is so far out there. We only see the ones that do happen and don’t realize the THOUSANDS a day going on each day on each hour.
I would say for those who worry about flying – it’s a great thing and your chances of dying in that is just about is good as getting hit by lighting in your front yard and yet you still go out there everyday.
I don’t know if this has been noted yet, but Craig Kimbrel has been promoted to Mississippi and Bryan Dumesnil has been released. Kimbrel threw two scoreless innings last night, striking out two while allowing 2 hits and a walk.
I’m with Lew. The LaRoche deal is ho-hum. Though I though acquiring Gonzo was the right move, I regretted losing LaRoche. But given that Freeman is on the immediate horizon, and Kotchman was doing well, I don’t really see the point of re-acquiring LaRoche.

Let’s not do stupid things to confront those by all means OK?!
Pittsburghers have pretty much written off the Pirates. They are Steeler die-hards and Penguin die-hards, but can’t say the same about the Pirates. Most people go to the games because the stadium is one of the best in the majors; and it’s a good way to pass an evening.
But unless or until that team has a deep-pockets owner, it’s going to flounder.
Regarding the Trade…. we all know that Boston picked up the difference in salary. I can’t see why anyone is bent out of shape on this. To me it’s an apple for an apple one is a contact hitter, one has more power. Both are more than solid fielding.
LaRoche was popular in the Braves Clubhouse and I’m glad he’s back. I can’t see this as a negative move and if anything we can fall back on his 2nd half numbers over the past years can only help us.
For those who love to deal with numbers I think it was worth the deal.
Shamus – I’ve seen an owl one time in my life, I was surprised by how big it was. Maybe it was a barn owl, no barns around here though. It was on the cable wire that connects from my house to the pole at the street. I don’t follow the Steelers enough to know. Until the 49ers get good again, I won’t even pay too much attention to the NFL. I grew up in KY, so the NFL is not as high on my list as it is for most Americans:
1.) UK Basketball…uhm no explanation needed.
2.) ATL Braves….a lot of family in ATL and they were always on TBS
3.) UK Football….college is more exciting that NFL
4.) SF 49ers….They were the most fun team to watch growing up in the 80s and 90s
5.) CLE Cavs….Didn’t follow NBA too much until I moved here to Cleveland because for the most part, it is pretty boring with people standing around watching the best players.
6.) COL BlueJackets…was in Columbus when they first came to the league. I never watched a game before them, but going to the game live is probably one of the best experiences…especially if you sit near the glass. When they check each other in to the glass, you feel the vibrations in your own body….pretty cool.
No Way I take McCann out of the 4 hole! TOO Good at that spot.

When I see Saltalamacchia’s name on the back of his jersey…it just looks odd…it is too long. He should have them put his first name on the back or just Salty. They put Ichiro’s first name on his jersey…
Looks like the Padres are playing well right now… currently on a 4-game win streak and leading in tonight’s game. Good. Get your winning out of the way now so we can go into San Diego and sweep ya!
Sorry, just thought I might know you. You mentioned tutoring, and I know a guy that lives in Vinings whose wife owns a tutoring company. Didn’t mean to waste your time.
I hope you know I was not being serious about your post about the Bikers. I am pretty sure a Biker woman was involved the first time a man cut off his arm to get away without waking up someone he picked up the night before, though.
Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but when Fox did their open this afternoon, I think the guy’s name was Chris Rose or something. As he was talking about the three games on Fox, he said lets go on down to the DIRTY south. Whats up with that?
We got the better end of the deal with LaRoche, I think. Kotchman will more than likely be traded in the offseason by Boston just like they probably wouldn’t have resigned LaRoche. So, who gives their team more right now? Unless the Sox plane on just keeping Casey around for awhile, this trade makes no sense for them. But we’ll take it.
As it stands now, the Braves are seven games behind the Phils.
The Braves also pick up a game on the Marlins. Unfortunately, the Giants’ win over Philly keeps them tied with the Rockies, who are four games ahead of the Braves in the wild-card. The Cubs’ win over the Marlins keeps them three games ahead of the Braves in the wild-card.
The Braves didn’t really make up much ground tonight.
TnBrian – I think most agree with you Boston gets Kotchman as a backup defensive guy for the long run. We get back a guy who was popular in the clubhouse and much more pop with the bat, not to mention one of our own guys.
Boston got VMart so they are happy … we … well get a guy back from a trade that looks pretty good as of today.
LaRoche aint shabby .. nothing to shout out about but a guy that we know does good things in the 2nd half of every season.
At least the guys get the HUNTIN’ Trips much easier this offseason.. is that funny? I don’t think so but it is what it is.

When I see Saltalamacchia’s name on the back of his jersey…it just looks odd…it is too long. He should have them put his first name on the back or just Salty. They put Ichiro’s first name on his jersey…

I hope you know I was not being serious about your post about the Bikers. I am pretty sure a Biker woman was involved the first time a man cut off his arm to get away without waking up someone he picked up the night before, though.
