Injury Note 60-day DL as of May 28, 2009 (Sore left shoulder)
As much as we all, myself included, complained about him not being on the team, looks like that was a good decision by the Bravos. Ohman has been injured almost all season.

I think that strike three that did not get called on Chipper is a result of two things– Umps trying to claim they are not biased against the Braves and that they agree that Hohn is a disgrace to their profession. And what better way than to make a call against a fellow umpire’s brother, the Dodgers’ pitcher!

Here’s what was posted on the Braves Facebook page about LaRoche as he arrived back in the clubhouse:
“After enduring quite a wacky travel experience, Adam LaRoche finally arrived at Turner Field at 2:55 p.m. ET or 65 minutes before he prepared to play first base and bat sixth against the Dodgers.
Carrying a Boston Red Sox bag and wearing jeans and a t-shirt, LaRoche walked into the Braves clubhouse and immediately started receiving playful jabs from his teammates and coaches.
Chipper Jones came around the corner and greeted his close friend with, “I can deal with the frayed jeans, but a t-shirt? Then the veteran first baseman added, “You spend five whole days and they give you a bag?”
After he was traded by the Pirates to Boston on July 22, LaRoche played six games with the Red Sox and then learned on Friday afternoon that he’d been dealt back to the Braves, who had employed him for his first three Major League seasons (2004-2006).
“Does this mean we all get free deer now,” Braves bullpen coach Eddie Perez said while playfully making reference to LaRoche’s passion for hunting.
After hitting a career-high 32 homers in 2006, LaRoche was dealt to the Pirates in exchange for Mike Gonzalez.
When Gonzalez greeted LaRoche with a handshake and man hug, the first baseman smiled and said, “I never thought we’d be together.”
When LaRoche learned of this latest trade, his plan was to fly from Baltimore to Boston to quickly pack a few items in his truck and then fly to Atlanta this morning.
His travel problems began when his 8 p.m. ET flight out of Baltimore was delayed for three hours. They were prolonged this morning, when the bomb scare at New York’s LaGuardia Airport caused his flight out of Boston to be delayed.
But LaRoche eventually arrived at Turner Field and donned the No. 22 jersey that had been previously worn by Casey Kotchman, whom the Braves traded to the Red Sox in exchange for LaRoche.
Barbaro Canizares was optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett to create a roster space for LaRoche”

Thanks. I was a DIEHARD fan thru 99 – Bobby’s shenanigans in that world series convinced me it was hopeless until he was gone.
Since then, I follow the team, attend a game or two when I am back in Ga visiting, and since I found this blog, have kept something of a presence here
I find it – I dunno – amusing, remarkable, and even sad in a way, that so many people can watch the same things happen over and over again and not get it, and still think that we have a chance all we have to do is tweak this or that reliever or make this or that trade
Between 99 and ‘04, about all I did was occasionally check in, ascertain that things were the same old same old with the Braves, and go on
This blog got me more involved with the team again. And this is a good team! Yes, they have some holes, but aint a team out there that doesnt. But they in reality have so much to work with. It is frustrating as heck to watch it being pissed away, and almost MORE frustrating to see fellow fans who cant or wont see why it’s being pissed away
It’ll change – some day Cox WILL be gone – and when he is gone, things will get better for the Braves – I fully expect that there will be all kinds of explanations and rationalizations offered “proving” that even if things got better after he left, that nothing was ever Cox’s fault – at that point, I wont respond to it any more – because all that will matter is that the team will have hope once again

Does anyone really think this team is going to win the Wild Card? They aren’t. The starters have pitched over their head. Once they come back down to Earth, it’s over. This team has a long way to go to be a playoff team, and even more to actually win there.
