Atta Boy Chipper
Nova Scotia Steve
Big knock Chipper…Randy Wolf has reason to be upset…but we took advantage of a Frank Drebin umpire call that finally went our way
come loaf, bring chipper in
I was thinking that the folks still concerned about trading Casey need to let it go, but then I realized that there are lots of people who haven’t gotten over a trade that happened over two years ago.

Manufactured run! Love it!
The Braves have had plenty of breaks this year.
Loaf gave it a ride.
They have this to say about Ohman on his Yahoo! Sports player page:
Injury Note 60-day DL as of May 28, 2009 (Sore left shoulder)
As much as we all, myself included, complained about him not being on the team, looks like that was a good decision by the Bravos. Ohman has been injured almost all season.
Ok Lowe go to work!
Well said RHR.
And another fly ball. What ever happened to line-drives?
I think that strike three that did not get called on Chipper is a result of two things– Umps trying to claim they are not biased against the Braves and that they agree that Hohn is a disgrace to their profession. And what better way than to make a call against a fellow umpire’s brother, the Dodgers’ pitcher!
Ga is having a good season

Here’s what was posted on the Braves Facebook page about LaRoche as he arrived back in the clubhouse:
“After enduring quite a wacky travel experience, Adam LaRoche finally arrived at Turner Field at 2:55 p.m. ET or 65 minutes before he prepared to play first base and bat sixth against the Dodgers.
Carrying a Boston Red Sox bag and wearing jeans and a t-shirt, LaRoche walked into the Braves clubhouse and immediately started receiving playful jabs from his teammates and coaches.
Chipper Jones came around the corner and greeted his close friend with, “I can deal with the frayed jeans, but a t-shirt? Then the veteran first baseman added, “You spend five whole days and they give you a bag?”
After he was traded by the Pirates to Boston on July 22, LaRoche played six games with the Red Sox and then learned on Friday afternoon that he’d been dealt back to the Braves, who had employed him for his first three Major League seasons (2004-2006).
“Does this mean we all get free deer now,” Braves bullpen coach Eddie Perez said while playfully making reference to LaRoche’s passion for hunting.
After hitting a career-high 32 homers in 2006, LaRoche was dealt to the Pirates in exchange for Mike Gonzalez.
When Gonzalez greeted LaRoche with a handshake and man hug, the first baseman smiled and said, “I never thought we’d be together.”
When LaRoche learned of this latest trade, his plan was to fly from Baltimore to Boston to quickly pack a few items in his truck and then fly to Atlanta this morning.
His travel problems began when his 8 p.m. ET flight out of Baltimore was delayed for three hours. They were prolonged this morning, when the bomb scare at New York’s LaGuardia Airport caused his flight out of Boston to be delayed.
But LaRoche eventually arrived at Turner Field and donned the No. 22 jersey that had been previously worn by Casey Kotchman, whom the Braves traded to the Red Sox in exchange for LaRoche.
Barbaro Canizares was optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett to create a roster space for LaRoche”
Had to laugh at Wolf going to backup homeplate on that Chipper 2B….Nate a bit faster than that…I hope…(he wanted to “talk” for sure)
Oh really chop chop? Try to keep up son.

I could almost care less if that was a strike to Chipper, not after that ball that was called a strike to Mac yesterday with the bases loaded. They all even up.

Rodney, I’m guessing it’s probably not that deep. He just made a mistake, thats all. Maybe he was daydreaming and its chipper so … ball! lol
Jair on the mic!
“We’d all want the same car, woman, house, etc. Where I agree or not express yourself…you’ll live longer”
Thanks. I was a DIEHARD fan thru 99 – Bobby’s shenanigans in that world series convinced me it was hopeless until he was gone.
Since then, I follow the team, attend a game or two when I am back in Ga visiting, and since I found this blog, have kept something of a presence here
I find it – I dunno – amusing, remarkable, and even sad in a way, that so many people can watch the same things happen over and over again and not get it, and still think that we have a chance all we have to do is tweak this or that reliever or make this or that trade
Between 99 and ‘04, about all I did was occasionally check in, ascertain that things were the same old same old with the Braves, and go on
This blog got me more involved with the team again. And this is a good team! Yes, they have some holes, but aint a team out there that doesnt. But they in reality have so much to work with. It is frustrating as heck to watch it being pissed away, and almost MORE frustrating to see fellow fans who cant or wont see why it’s being pissed away
It’ll change – some day Cox WILL be gone – and when he is gone, things will get better for the Braves – I fully expect that there will be all kinds of explanations and rationalizations offered “proving” that even if things got better after he left, that nothing was ever Cox’s fault – at that point, I wont respond to it any more – because all that will matter is that the team will have hope once again
One man’s opinion.
Hate away oh blind and misled people
Weird to say this, but I’m kinda glad they aren’t giving Furcal the time of day to waste any energy to boo him. Little prick just walked…DAMNIT!
August 1st, 20095:06 pm
FOX interviewing Jurrjens
seems like lowe starts walking people every time the braves score
August 1st, 20095:07 pm
Loving a chance to hear JJ
Thanks for enlightening us Robert. Don’t know how we would get along without you.
McLouth of the South
“Barbaro Canizares was optioned back to Triple-A Gwinnett to create a roster space for LaRoche”
Nope, can’t be. Peter Paul Lentz said Barbaro wasn’t in LaRoche’s spot and he is always right. No, no, no. Won’t believe it.
August 1st, 20095:08 pm
Good post Robert. Watch out though. You’ll piss off the eternal optimists.
uhhh ohhhhhh….almost took Derek’s head off…
Nice interview with Jair
Jair’s dad is awesome. He needs to blog with us….or maybe not.
Everything that goes wrong is not Bobby fault…..but alas…you think it is.
And as I said, with you being stubborn as a donkey on that subject….your the donkey, not Bobby.
August 1st, 20095:09 pm
It’s you’re NOT your.
Great interview so far JJ.
He’s a badass, I kid. He’s a funny dude.
August 1st, 20095:10 pm
McLouth of the South
So Manny has extensions right? Because his hair hasn’t grown that much in a year…theres no way.
This Has been the best and unbiased broadcast by FOX that I heave heard in years…
I love it when Blow Buck and Tim McSlobber refuse to call our games…!
Come on Lowe!
August 1st, 20095:11 pm
Not good D-Lowe.
Enough with the interview. Uninterested.
Lowe testing himself to see if he can get out of a huge jam??
and here come the wheels off of the bus… dodgers will be up by the end of the inning..
here we go folks……………………………
This isn’t good.
After I bragged on Lowe he’s missing big time on the last several, I can see with Manny but Casey Blake? With the bases loaded? Bitch please.
THROW A STRIKE
Derek what is happening?
August 1st, 20095:12 pm
Come On D-Lo…!
That one run is probably all your gonna get…
Trouble is a-brewing
I can’t believe this chump is going to walk in a run.
Come on, D-Lowe. What are you throwin’, man?
The Bird and Indian
August 1st, 20095:13 pm
Mitchell: You’re not interested in what our 23 year old pitcher has to say? That’s odd. I also thought you said you were done with this team. I wish you were.
Good play…good throw
At least we got an out.
Damn, damn, damn.
August 1st, 20095:14 pm
I’ll take that, DP still in order.
Double play would be nice.
Beardy McGee has 59 RBI’s to Chipper’s 50?
Oh dios mio.
the walks almost always come back to hurt the braves
How many balls this inning? Anyone have gameday up? Good lord.
Annnnd gave the run right back
Anyone want to start a Braves Blog Fantasy Football league? email me @ email@example.com if anyone is interested in playing Fantasy Football, and I’ll set it up. We need 12 people to play. Just for fun.
He’s not getting a call on that outside corner.
August 1st, 20095:15 pm
Dodgers lineup – NO EASY OUTS…well maybe Russell Martin (the way he’s been flailing this year)
Braves lineup – Holes in the bottom of the order.
This Inning hurts us! I don’t thinkm D-lo goes 6 innings today…
Bad Luck against the braves yet again!!!
Tough luck, would have been a DP.
That was interesting to find that Jair’s family support for the Braves goes back to Milwaukie days and that it has nothing to do with Andruw. Also, is there any other pitcher in baseball that speaks four languages?
August 1st, 20095:16 pm
“Toes are not to be trifled with” echoes in my mind.
God this team sucks something horrible
Not bad luck. This inning was certainly Bobby’s fault, somehow.
As I said Birdie, I’m an addict.
I also said JJ is a badass. I found the interview a little distracting from the game. Sorry.
I thought I quit too.
Oh and me commenting yesterday how Lowe would step up…nevermind. He’s our 4th best pitcher this year but getting paid like he’s the ace.
Damn it LOWE, can’t you FRAKING hold the lead?
I guess not.
Umpire today isn’t giving either pitcher the corners. Bill Hahn behind home plate?
Play’s at third Matty for chrissakes! Gawd, someone teach him how to play right field!
August 1st, 20095:17 pm
Rick VandenHurk speaks five. But JJ is still a beast.
August 1st, 20095:18 pm
Kemp is about to go yard.
And we are stuck with D-Lo and his contract for 3 more years!
Question on everyone's mind
August 1st, 20095:19 pm
Does anyone really think this team is going to win the Wild Card? They aren’t. The starters have pitched over their head. Once they come back down to Earth, it’s over. This team has a long way to go to be a playoff team, and even more to actually win there.
We have a chance if we can get out of this just giving up 2 runs…
Gotta get this guy. Please.
That inning was definitely Bobby’s fault
Coulda been worse I suppose.
Well, at least we won’t get shut out today.
August 1st, 20095:20 pm
a 30 pitch inning
Fortunate to get out of that mess only down a run.
Robert was that ball hitting Lowe Cox’s fault?
This just in…Russell Martin is a one year wonder.
B-Mac – Legit All star Catcher.
Russell Martin…Flavour of the month. So is Geovany Soto for that matter.
B-Mac having the last laugh!
That would have been a double play wouldn’t it?
300 Major League pitchers and we get the only one who can’t pitch on a warm summer day.
August 1st, 20095:21 pm
Mitchell yes it would have
Robert: Damn it Donk you shouldve positioned Lowe differentl
August 1st, 20095:22 pm
16 balls – 9 strikes – 30 pitches
Hopefully he’ll get a chance to catch his breath here…
So I was thinking before bed last night…With the way Kenshinty Kawakrappy loops his beach balls into hitters every 5th day.
He’d probably make a great $8 million dollar starter in my slo-pitch league
August 1st, 20095:23 pm
Could we get some power hits in this inning? Please, please, please.
you really think this lineup will score another run or two?…doubtful
August 1st, 20095:24 pm
I love it.
