that was a cute pick
lost 11 games in july—gave away how many—- 4?
August 1st, 20094:36 pm
man, do we need escobar back in this lineup, including church…any news on church able to swing the bat today?
braves should go all the way if they beat the dodgers
We should have traded for George Sherrill. If Adam hits a three run homerun I’ll shut up but that was a dumbass trade.
I hate this commercial. Are there any lyrics to this song? It’s unintelligable.
Oh, I change my mind. The Olive Garden commercial is unbearable. I hate it.
I’m not happy today. I was happy. Didn’t even want to think about the game today, didn’t want to watch but I’m an addict.
Okay, Matt Diaz… thank you for at least making this guy have to work.
We better win this game.
August 1st, 20094:37 pm
Great AB for Diaz come on Roachy
Nova Scotia Steve
Good AB Diaz…here we go…c’mon Adam…
Good at bat by Diaz
The Bird and Indian
August 1st, 20094:38 pm
Here we go Roachy!
August 1st, 20094:39 pm
Good eye there Adam.
Welcome back, Adam! Good eye!
Good AB Roachy
LaRoche showing patience
Good AB take advantage of this ROSS
August 1st, 20094:41 pm
Well, LOAF has a new talking buddy………..TP ~_~
did I just read that correctly? Is Diory batting .145… wth is that?
wow 3 st8 curveballs Ross is sitting on a fastball
August 1st, 20094:42 pm
Trying to catch Adam…ahem…napping..

lost 11 games in july—gave away how many—- 4?
Excellent point. I’m not going to complain about 11 wins, I think that’s awesome but we can’t fall back into a rut. We have to play better and not waste opportunities to score and take over games.
This line-up does suck. As long as Greg, Kelly and Diory have an A on their helmets… well, you know the rest.
August 1st, 20094:43 pm
pryguy, I wasn’t around the beat a ton when LaRoche was here, so my memory is a little foggy but I don’t know that it was any huge deal with Cox and LaRoche, just a couple misplays at first base that he didn’t appreciate but that was it.
nice ovations for LaRoche, both in introductions and his first at-bat.
ok nevermind fastball right down the middle…….. atleast he didnt hit in to DP
I wish Adam had been picked off. That would have been perfect.
We basically are giving the Dodgers Two innings of baseball tonight with our 7-8-9 hitters today…
And I have no idea how Diory Hernandez still as a job…maybe its because he plays short…cause we sure as hell can’t hit…
You have to take in the fact Diory hasn’t played that much rabiddawg.
and d lowe is batting .206… classic
August 1st, 20094:44 pm
11 for 76. That’s hilarious.
This team just flat sux.
Looks like the same game as last night. Walks followed by poor hitting.
wow Ross swings threw pitch donw middle and so do Diory …… geez
Edward( Bobby Retires after 2009 or Bust )
GOD Diory Sucks worse than Greg norton…jeez!!
Lash La Rue
August 1st, 20094:45 pm
go to well………………………………mitchell
Man, can’t wait for Esco to come back. That Diory is……..well, I’ll just leave it there.
11 for 77
August 1st, 20094:46 pm
I think Bobby is looking for some more less than .200 hitters for backup.
Steve from OH
NS Steve–that’s pretty much it. If anyone else could play SS, they’d be here instead of Diory. Unfortunately, Kelly and/or Martin can’t (well) and we don’t have a good SS prospect (looking at you, Brandon Hicks) to step up and gobble up that PT.
Cy Wolf?…..say it ain’t so.
WHEW!! that diory is awful! Ecsobar can’t get back soon enough.
Darn it…first ROSS strikes out, but he’s done a good job this year. Not been getting many AB’s lately…I wonder if that has anything to do with him striking out, he’s normally a good fastball hitter.
Then…DIORY HERNADEZ has NO BUSINESS being on the major league team. He’s WORTHLESS. Can’t even hit his weight in batting average.
I’d rather have the “butcher” that is Brooks Conrad at SS and his bat in the lineup, than the EASY out that is Diory Hernadez.
Man, do the Braves ever need everyone to be HEALTHY to have any kind of a shot at the WC.
Omar Infante can’t get here fast enough. Enough of this CRAP with having to endure Diory Hernadez at bats!
August 1st, 20094:47 pm
That was a close
To frustrate myself and ya’ll even more, I think we can all agree that Yunel would’ve bashed that Wolf heater down the middle for at least a double, probably a 3-run HR.
Go to your nose Bobby.
August 1st, 20094:48 pm
I like Mark Grace’s announcing
Dead Weight that has to be dropped by Frank Wren as soon as possible:
Greg Norton & Diory Hernadez.
PLEASE Infante GWS!!…i throw up every time Diory comes up with a runner on..
Why does Escobar have to keep getting hurt? I can’t wait until Infante comes back.. Then at least we will have a viable backup in case Escobar can’t go.. Hernandez blows..
August 1st, 20094:49 pm
man, not having infane to backup escobar is killing us. wish we could put hicks in there atleast, though, he hasnt shown anything in the minor leagues either
DLowe is on and popping today.
Lowe looks good today. too bad we can’t score. Maybe if the Dodgers only put the pitcher out there we could score.
OK Let’s get some runs…jeessseee…Harry Carey BBQ spare ribs style
August 1st, 20094:50 pm
still a weak lineup today just as it was yesterday. lowe cant shut them out all day long =/
typical braves.. 2 on with one out and ross strikes out and the same with hernandez..yea thats offense for u…wow cox and wren just suck at choosin which players to send up and send down.. for that reason and many others dont see the braves winning one game against the dodgers here in atlanta or in LA..and the braves make history last night as well..
Lowe looks on his game (though the first 3 anyways) would hate to waste … another … winning opportunity
More helium bubble cargo…
August 1st, 20094:51 pm
Lowe may have to do the hitting today as well ~_~
Ok Bravos’ lets get some hits and put Wolf under some pressure!
Nova Scotia, me too. Grace is a very good anouncer that calls the game down the middle. I think, just from listening to him the last few years, that he really repsects Bobby and the Braves.
We’re stuck with Diory until Infante comes back, which sounds like is still a while away. I think the latest I read was end of August? Damn whoever it was who hit him…I don’t even remember.
I think if we put KJ and Norton in there we would have some pop. LOL.
August 1st, 20094:52 pm
Can Derek Lowe hit in the 8 spot and Hernandez in the 9 spot?
August 1st, 20094:53 pm
“WHEW!! that diory is awful! Ecsobar can’t get back soon enough.”
I know, he just seems to have no idea what he’s doing up there. Who is the shortstop for gwinnett? I have to imagine he can’t be much worse than what Diory is doing right now. You never know what someone will do when they come from triple-a to the majors as evidenced by Brooks Conrad and his performance but I have to imagine the Braves didn’t think Diory would be this bad at the plate. Time to give someone else a shot till Omar gets back.
Lowe pitches well when the pressure is on man…people rag on him about his salary but he’s a money pitcher.
His past play-off records…Game 1 of the season on ESPN against Phillis…VS Beckett on Fox a couple weeks ago…and here again today with the ball parked packed and another national broadcast…
Conrad played some SS at Gwinnett…..Conrad or Chris Burke are better options that Diory
Can’t Brooks Conrad play shortstop? I have to assume he’s capable of it.
What did he not do up here?
August 1st, 20094:54 pm
Is Will Ohman still with the dodgers?
and chris totally agree man. a weak lineup again…bring some players up here that can hit and put the ball in play.. Norton hernandez and many others just are awful.. when will the 2 managers get with it.. and i have to watch the yankees and whitesoxs play where chicago is shelling A.J Burnett in the 2nd inning… go soxs screw those yankees..
N8 needs to turn it on! Like that!
Good job, Nate.
Glad Grace is doing a good job. He’s always been a favorite of mine. Dealt with him back in the day on a few Maddux stories since they were teammates and buddies with the Cubs.
August 1st, 20094:55 pm
You cannot field a team nightly with 2 and 3 starters out and expect to win. Mccann should have been in the lineup today. I understand the philosophy of resting him. But when you already have starters out then he has to play.
You rest him when you have a full healthy squad to play the game.
We’ll take it. Maybe that’ll get Nate going.
I agree Jeff, screw the Yankmees!
August 1st, 20094:56 pm
NORRIS. Do not question our HOF manager.
McCann should be in the line-up but he hasn’t had a day off in a long time…
Ok Chipper lets play some long ball!
They have this to say about him on his Yahoo! Sports player page:
Injury Note 60-day DL as of May 28, 2009 (Sore left shoulder)
August 1st, 20094:57 pm
I’ll say it again, we should have traded for Sherrill.
I can’t believe we would trade Casey Kotchman. I mean, it’s not really that big of a deal. LaRoche will probably be fine.
I just can’t make sense of the fact that we have these retards still in the clubhouse. How bout Norton, Kelly and Diory for a bucket of Big League Chew?
When we have to put out a lineup like this is when we are really missing Omar Infante. Ross should be batting 8th with Infante at short in place of Diory and batting 6th or 7th. Even if we get guys on in the middle of the order the bottom is easy to pitch to.
yea we have a veteran player in Gwinnett and we have diory up here to stink it up.. yea thats a winning attitude.. guaranteed if conrad or Burke were given a chance to come up and play short they would do a fine job….bad managment of the farm system and players again..
August 1st, 20094:58 pm
Good play n8!
18 Wheels of Love
Carroll, tell Mark Grace thanks for talking Peavy into turning down that trade to Atlanta!
Diory is an automatic out.
Pick him up chip
August 1st, 20094:59 pm
lol woah that was a strike
Wow that looked like a strike…
Got a break there!
everybody seems to be throwing it by the future hall-of-famer
where that was?
I’d walk Chipper.
August 1st, 20095:00 pm
Stupid decision by Wolf.
Awesome. Chipper needs to give the ump a fist bump.
There We Go “Hoss!”
There we go Chippy.
Yes, the missed call by the ump helped! Throw Wolf out!
Thank you for stealing Nate and not getting thrown out. Wasted at-bat by Martin.
Yes, I’m throwing Martin under the bus for not getting him over.
Let’s just get a run Braves. Give D-Lowe something.
This seems like that rare game where our pitcher might actually keep it even.
Huge run. What’s with these fly ball? I thought he was going to catch that.
Awright, Chipper!!! Wolf is crying fowl on that one pitch. Oh well, that’s the shakes, dude.
August 1st, 20095:01 pm
We’ll take that too.
We’re due for a “break.”
Frank from KS (now living in CO)
I thought you were done with this team after last night……….what’s the deal?
a fly ball that didn’t find a glove to land in
Yeah shut up dodgers, you could have just walked him.
first inning–the fair/foul ball
this inning–strike/ball 3
reverse ghost of billy hohn
