It was probably Greg Norton who hit Prado…
The good news???? Norton makes contact…
Robert – relax, get some love in your heart and return..
Lew Robert will never grow a functional brain or develop a personality.
Go get ‘im!!
CHIPPER on the fist bump: “Shocking. But it kind of makes sense, [considering] how the ebb and flow of the way the game was called.”
“Never seen it before in my 16 years. [Players and umpires] exchange banter all the time, but never a handshake or a fist bump. I guess Baker thought he deserved a hand shake.”
Marc in FL

Prado HAS NOT BEEN TRADED! Oliver is a known Met supporter who was just trying to clog our blog tonight with this BS trade. I listen to XM and can assure you that no such trade announcement was ever made. If a trade was made, some media outlet somewhere in the world would have mentioned it by now, none have. And it would be a stupid trade that would never realistically happen in the first place, so common sense tells you it’s probably not true. It’s just a Mutt screwing with you, let it die.
I repeat, THERE IS NO PRADO FOR BELL TRADE, IT DOESN’T EXIST.
Braves thought ump Jerry Meals’ strike zone Tuesday was as inconsistent or worse than Hohn’s.
“The last two games’ performance by the officials is something that makes you sit back and wonder,” Jones said. “And as a player, it makes you not want to play when that stuff happens. Because you don’t have a chance.”
July 30th, 20096:58 pm
Mercy…I know injuries are part of the game but….I don’t believe Prado had anything BUT his ankle stickin’ out from behind that “protective” fence…and even THAT was exposed for only a second or two…I’d like to know the odds of that happening…
wow blog ate the post anyway
soriano and gonzalez are currently type A free agents
g.anderson is a typ B
Bobby Cox – “I don’t know why, but I like Kawakami”
yeah, i don’t know either.
The A Bomb
July 30th, 20096:59 pm
Meals, Hohn, Darling. . . Who in the blue hell put this crew together.
Hohn needs to be with a strong crew chief. . . one that would have put a stop to that crap last night.
Lew – stop eating
sugar, processed foods, pasta, rice and bread
(all sugar really)
you will peel off the weight
July 30th, 20097:00 pm
It’s amazing that a player can SUCK for the first half of the season, get sent to the minors on a rehab assignment, come back and go 4 for 5 and then get inserted into the #2 spot of the order.
Still, I’ll reserve judgment until after the game is over with as far as Kelly batting in the 2 hole is concerned.
but Jeff Bennett was a type B free agent!
July 30th, 20097:01 pm
Paul – agreed.
Looks like will get some draft picks, after Anderson,Gonzo and Soriano depart
July 30th, 20097:02 pm
Chipper Jones is my favorite player and that is why. Chipper tells it like it is, and I respect him for it.
I mean , someone comes on here and makes a bogus trade post and y’all are running around chasing your tails in circles asking someone to verify it
Half the frickin peanut gallery believed it when someone posted that Blaine Boyer died a couple of weeks ago
It just helps to have a CLUE as to how to sort bs from good information (in other words,Steve, to know who to assign credibility to) –
unbelievable, dodgers still trying to gte holliday, marlins trying to get nick johnson
Bennett wasn’t a type b, he just was a little b
Prado was playing well for a couple of weeks but lately he’s been slumping and hitting into a ton of key DPs like last night with runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out, he hit into the inning ending DP. Prado’s a very nice utility player but Infante can easily take his place and we’d be getting a true closer.
July 30th, 20097:03 pm
can the braves not file a grievance against hohn? umps are supposed to be non biased.. it seems to me that one would deserve a suspension at the least for showing such obvious and blatent bias and unprofessionalism.
Steve from OH
July 30th, 20097:04 pm
Yeah I often give credibility to the ideas of a guy whose brain has been damaged by recreational drug use.
I prefer to give “brain-damaged” folks credibiity as opposed to “no-brained” folks like yourself. I’ll ask you again–what gives you the authority to dismiss an opinion like that? And what gives you the impunity to be a moral judge against what Lew does for a living. A day’s work is a day’s work, dude. Quite frankly, how dare you look down on someone else’s occupation? Is what you do for a living really that much better and more “honorable?” I don’t say this much, but you truly are a f’ing jackass.
Robert, get a life…grow up and shut up. There is no place for that type of crap on here. I mean, I always knew you were a complete idiot lackin of an emotional intelligence at all…but, it could be tolerated with your hee-hawing, one-trick pony nonsense. Really, it just gives a lot of insight into what type of person you really are…not that it wasn’t already painfully obvious. You are right…you shouldn’t value the opinion of any one who has ever don recreational drugs…oops, there goes half of our college educators…
Bay Area Steve
Why do respectful, rational people continue trying to reason with the likes of that fool?
July 30th, 20097:05 pm
Stay off my boy Kelly tonight…he needs your support…tia
Ohh…and it’s 5-6…
Wayne in UT- could’nt agree more with you on Kawakami (not on Prado, ‘tho!). But dang KK throws a lot of pitches, I mean a tunnnnnn of ‘em.
Ok game time, have fun all
g’night and god bless and whatever I say to bless those atheists amongst us !
July 30th, 20097:06 pm
That idiot Hohn shouldn’t be allowed near a Braves game ever again. Clearly he has an ax to grind with the club and the fist bump was unprofessional.
I need to learn who to assign credibility to? Seriously? Coming from you? Gimme a break.
“Quite frankly, how dare you look down on someone else’s occupation?”
I dont look down on his occupation. I look down on his choice to have wasted his brain with drugs to become a fat shiftless loser
Again, Lew started in on me , not the other way around
July 30th, 20097:07 pm
dogs-been doing just that for ten years-I’m diabetic. Don’t eat white carbs, soda, sugar or any other carb except green veggies and whole grains-It’s how I got the blood sugar under control.
However, I gained over a 100 pounds in two years AFTER they got the blood sugar under control (I weighed 190 when this all started). I’m taking 5 separate medications that list weight gain as a side effect. THAT’S the little thing they DON’T tell you.
Hate to tell Robert, but I haven’t had a Twinky for decades. Besides, nothing he can say about my weight is anything I haven’t head before from much more intelligent people than him. Let him rant on. He’s making a much bigger fool of himself than he can hope to make of me.
"Chef" Tim Dix
I think the Lew/Robert thing is to quote the Prez, “A teachable moment.”
“I need to learn who to assign credibility to? Seriously? Coming from you? Gimme a break”
Yup, you. Imagine that.
July 30th, 20097:08 pm
Again, who gave you the authority to be a judge of other people’s morals and values, Robert? I’d love to see your explaination for this.
July 30th, 20097:09 pm
It’s time…to PLAY BALL!!!!
Let’s go Braves!
Bennett in the latest rankings is still a type B free agent with a score of 64.248 ahead of about 18 pitchers still
July 30th, 20097:10 pm
“I’m taking 5 separate medications that list weight gain as a side effect”
Uh huh. I bet you a “gland problem” Basically what you are saying is you’re fat but its not your fault, your EXCUSE is the medication
No accountability, no responsibility – Of course, what would I expect of you
Dogsb–the secret to weight loss is simple–calories in<calories out. No magic diet or anything. Control your portions and you’ll control your gut.
Get ready as Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves take on Billy Hohn and the Florida Marlins.
Robert your a azzhole
The Braves CAN and probably HAVE lodged a formal complaint against umpire Billy Hohn with the league office. I’m sure the league office was on top of what happened before they were contacted by the Braves. They monitor games just like fans do.
those must be the sorriest 18 pitchers in the history of the game
jeff bennett—the billy hohn of pitchers
Roman Gal good one lol
July 30th, 20097:11 pm
SHUT THE FRAK UP.
Don’t encourage this person is ONLY capable of posting/commenting on ONE THING. BOBBY COX.
Robert, you’re the Bill Hohn of bloggers.
Oh, and you better hurry and grab your popcorn. WWE SmackDown is about to come on.
July 30th, 20097:12 pm
“Again, who gave you the authority to be a judge of other people’s morals and values, Robert? ”
I have a working rational brain. I give MYSELF the authority to not give credence to someone who admits they destroyed THEIR brain with drugs
You have a problem with that , then, well, then you have a problem Not me
what vabravefan said
Roger McDowell is AWESOME!!!!
July 30th, 20097:13 pm
Good one RG. Funny.
Oh, and for Robert–glandular problems can in fact induce massive weight gain or loss if not identified or treated properly. But I’m sure you knew this already, right?
July 30th, 20097:14 pm
Paul dun put the “mojo”… on my boy Kelly….
2 up…2 strike outs.
looks like the braves got a big hole in there bat tonight
You have a problem with that
Quite frankly? Yes, as your premises are, um…faulty at best.
The Braves’ Aug. 16 home game against Philadephia has been changed to an 8:05 p.m. start to accommodate ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. It had been scheduled to start at 1:35 p.m.
Why is ESPN so un-accommodating when it comes to schedules (and the Braves)??
I liked the 1PM start better because they’re playing at 4PM the following afternoon while Philly has an off day
Robert-Yeah, while living in Florida, I listened to Morning Radio (happens when you do rock and roll artwork for a radio station-so much for not holding down a job). Felching was a topic of uproariousness some years back. Never knew anyone who had indulged though. At least before you
July 30th, 20097:15 pm
…guess Chipper didn’t want to K like the other guys.
Van Den Hurk just mouthed….’this is gonna be easy!’
And I’ll say, I’m 6 feet on a good day and closing in on 230 – in other words, a forty-ish fat ass. But I know the reason. It’s not side effects of a medication that “they” (the infamous they) didnt tell me about I eat too much. I accept responsibility for what my life is – instead of finding excuses
Hey Lew, if the side effect of the medication is weight gain, then if youre gonna take that medicine, you eat to EAT LESS
whats with Chipper being so aggresive latly….. he is always know for having a good AB working the count and getting a good pitch to hit, or drawing a walk
July 30th, 20097:16 pm
I read that the ball that struck Prado on the ankle was hit by Norton.
Roman Gal Get ready as Chipper Jones and the Atlanta Braves take on Billy Hohn and the Florida Marlins.
No Robert-Apparently it’s YOUR gland with the problem. Mr. Bozo.
Agree, that we need to get ahead early in this game….
Not a good start, K K ground out
I have always thought of DOB being the Commanding Officer (CO) on this blog and Lew was the Executive Officer (XO).
You kinda dont mess with them.
July 30th, 20097:17 pm
“Felching was a topic of uproariousness some years back.”
Ive heard that people find most anything uproariously funny when they’re stoned. Guess it’s true
The Sunday night ESPN games suck if you are in from out of town. A long drive back to South Georgia after an 8pm game vs a 135 game.
I thought there was a limit as to how many times you could play on ESPN Sunday Night baseball of 3. I guess the limit is only how many times you can play Sunday night games at home though.
July 30th, 20097:18 pm
Robert-Time to go play with yourself some more. I’m going to go watch the game. I’ll keep my pants zipped, though. You? Not once Bobby makes a call to the bullpen you don’t agree with. Rapture awaits you. Hee Haw. Grunt, grunt.
“Quite frankly? Yes, as your premises are, um…faulty at best.”
I’m confidant you’ll find a way to deal with your dislike of me. Happy trails
July 30th, 20097:21 pm
Yeah, that’s me. Antagonistic Buffalo Butt. Later.
The blimp view of the stadium made it look like there was about 500 people at the game. Whew.
July 30th, 20097:22 pm
If Prado is hurt we need Brooks Conrad back by the 3rd inning.
the hopes of the braves nation rest in your hands mr. hanson
to get those compensatory draft picks….you must first offer arbitration, right? if so, you would think that anderson and maybe gonzo would except it…
maybe added motivation should be to have in their minds that if they lose again they’re back at their old stomping grounds of .500 baseball
July 30th, 20097:23 pm
Good start for JV.
Nice inning By Vasquez
Woooooooo, wait a minute. Blaine Boyer died?
(that was a joke, but I remember that post and remembered it was not funny at all until people started believing it just because it was posted on this blog. Talk about credibility issues for some of you.)
Mets threatening early….could there possible be a series sweep?
July 30th, 20097:24 pm
Oh, and before I leave you to your unhappy existence, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that there isn’t much evidence to support your theory that one’s high-level reasoning and thinking abilites are significantly impaired by moderate marijuana usage. There is some debate about memory, but in terms of high-level reasoning activities, you’re off-base from what I gathered, never mind your claim that it “destroys your brain.” The most significant adverse effects are likely pulmonary. Hence, at least one of your premises is faulty. Shall I continue?
July 30th, 20097:25 pm
so how does offering arbritration work? Anderson Makes 2mil this year what would the arbritration offer be?
Nice to see Mac go the other way
July 30th, 20097:26 pm
McFann – I seem to remember someone likes her some doubles!
Woo hoo…no 0-fer for McCann tonight.
Way to go get that pitch Mac.
here’s that situation where if they really need to score him
Why is KJ who is batting 228 playing instead of Prado who is hot. Bobby is to old for this job and needs to go
July 30th, 20097:27 pm
DOB and the Blog,
How can I listen to the Braves online? Is there a free site anywhere?
Hohn was givin’ McCann the “stink eye”…
Yeah…who was that?
Waytago, BMac! It’s ON now!
GA is productive even when he’s making outs right now…
July 30th, 20097:29 pm
ohhhh no…I getting worried…Prado….now Escobar
Mets threatening early….could there possible be a series sweep? Heath
Mets are quietly becoming an awesome Major League Baseball National League baseball team in spite of their injuries.
Frenchie is on fire !!
