I missed it. What happened to Bennett. What’s the Bravos record since KJ and Norton have come back? 1 and 3 I think. Chemictry means alot and KJ and Norton could mean something.

I umped for many many years and Hohn should be suspended.

It’s about time the Braves get pissed off. I would like to see Javy headhunt tonight.

njbraves, you won’t be saying that when KJ starts his cold streak or Infante doesn’t bounce back. Yeah, yeah, Infante can hit but after an injury like he had and as long as he’s been out, it might take awhile before he’s his old self again.

Robert, even though Canseco has been truthfull doesn’t mean he’s not an assclown. The guy is a joke and my definition of assclown is have a flyball bounce off your gord for a homerun. I think the PED guy could be Rickey.

“Robert..so you think that the entire front office of the Braves has been tricked by Bobby Cox? They all are too dumb to see that Bobby is a bad manager? That is essentially what you have been saying”

No, that’s not what I have been saying. Because I believe the Braves front office is concerned about keeping the team a money making enterprise. It’s a business, and they like Cox because he is a company man

As a fan, what I want to see from the Braves is World Series rings, not profits

Nova Scotia Steve

You cut D.lowe some slack because “he is a proven Major League pitcher.” KK isn’t!

WEll duh!! Let me get this straight, you’re fine with the “15 million dollar man” losing 4 out of 6 because he is a “proven” pitcher but you aren’t fine with the new guy from Japan who isn’t “proven” but up until last night had better stats for the year(except for wins)) than Lowe! Don’t you have your logic a little backwards? I get more miffed at Lowe when he underperforms beacuse he is “proven.” You’re angry at the unproven guy! Why? He isn’t “proven”. I tend to give a new guy to the league more of a break if he strikes out with the bases loaded versus say a Chipper Jones. I don’t know thats just me! Rant on!

How can people say Prado for Bell is not good? We are very deeeeeep at 2nd base and anytime you can get a legit closer for one player it would be a steal. It won’t happen because Towers will wan’t more not because Wren won’t trade Prado. We also have 2 potential closers coming off the books at years end and Bell could fill that spot.

UNC Brave, agree with everything you just said. Don’t think Kawakami is a bad pitcher and I think he’ll continue to get better but there’s no need for him in Atlanta. The Braves have 5 starting pitchers(including Medlan) who are better than him and 6 when Hudson comes back. I know the Braves are not big on “salary dumps” but just give him up for a marginal prospect. The Astros are said to be looking for a pitcher to fall into their lap. Giving them Kawakami would help both teams I think.

Robert-

You do realize there are very few professional sports teams that actually make money right? Most owners buy teams as an investment, part of a bigger transaction, or in some cases simply because they can. You do not buy a pro sports team to become rich. It is next to impossible to make money that way, unless you operate like the Pirates (and even then it is rare that you turn a profit.) I’d just like to point that out to you.

njbraves………..I wasnt aware of the pay dispute between Bennett and the Braves. From what I read of David O’Brien’s posting concerning the issue, the Braves either had to keep him and give him his back pay…..or release him and pursue the grievance. So in other words, if the Braves could have kept him and still pursued the grievance, then they would have brought him up.

Think about it, if the Braves didnt have any intention of bringing up Bennett, then why have him do a rehab assignment in Triple A? Why not send him outright to Triple A when he was healthy enough to pitch? If he is on a rehab assignment, then they have you pay him his Major League salary. However, if he was sent outright to Triple A, then they would only have to pay his Triple A salary.

So in hindsight, you cant tell me that I was “wrong” about him being added to the roster, because Bennett wasnt released for performance related issues. I have no doubt that he would have been called up if it wasnt for the pay dispute.

Also, I didnt say that Kelly Johnson would “kill the Braves”. I said that bringing him up AND sending down Brooks Conrad instead of cutting Greg Norton….would not help the Braves win ballgames. I said that I would support Kelly being on the roster if Norton was released.

I’ve noticed that you are very “selective” as to what part of someone’s postings you want to “pick” to dissect.

Now before you jump up for joy and talk about how Kelly is 4 for 5 since his call-up, might I remind you that Julio Lugo, who was DUMPED by Boston, is hitting .400 with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1 homer, and 3 RBIs in his first 25 at-bats with the Cardinals. Do you think that that kind of production by Lugo will hold up?

5 at-bats by Kelly Johnson wont make me forget about his horrific 1st half. Lets see how Kelly will do the rest of the season.

I just hope Prado can keep it up for the long haul. Like the rest of the season. I agree that I could tolerate KJ on the team if Norton was gone and Conrad brought up. Conrad is a dirt player and I like that. I also believe his enthusiasm was contagious. If Infante comes back the middle of August it will be September 1st before he can get in a groove.
