Bobby should have used David Ross to pinch hit there. We are up 3 runs. A big hit there by Ross could have put the game out of reach.
Still, I’m confident that Soriano can get the job done.

So, I guess there were only 4 guys available on the bench tonight and Cox didn’t want to use his backup catcher? All I can think of. You know, how often does it burn a coach for using his backup catcher? The odds are so small, you are better off using him in that spot…especially since he swings a good stick.

They’d never admit it, but there is a certain percentage of the “Braves fans” who post here who are disappointed that McCann just hit that homer and that KJ turned that double play and had that bunt with the great slide. The level of schadenfreude on this board is staggering.

I think Soriano is coming to to close, Church, Prado, and Escobar are all injuries, Diaz, Hernandez, and Norton are all available. I’m of the belief something is wrong with Ross. Bobby was using him a lot earlier in the year and to good effect, and lately he, well he had Moylan batting tonight, lol. There’s something wrong with Ross…

Hey, Vazquez had another solid performance. His trade value went up a little more. Think we can swing a deal for him before deadline? After all, we have Kawakami, and he’s just too valuable to trade.

Watching Brooksie try to play short would be plain ugly. No chance his bat could justify playing him there. Plus, shortstops don’t dip.

If the Braves had bigger bats in the OF this year and production at 2B for the whole season Kotchman would not take nearly the crap he does. He is a great defensive 1B and solid hitter. Power numbers are lacking and below even expectations. He seems to be coming around. He will be a great first baseman on an otherwise great hitting team.

OK, I’m usually the last to blast Cox, but WHY IN THE WORLD is Moylan batting right there. Is David Ross dead? And if you’re going to hit a pitcher, why not Jurrjens or Lowe or SOMEBODY with more than five career at-bats?
That’s absolutely, positively piss-poor managing that likely will go unnoticed unless the Marlins score 3 or 4 here in the 10th.

While Kotchman hasnt made any official errors as a Brave…..he has made two MENTAL errors in the past week (that weak A$$ toss in the Giants game last Thursday that began that MELTDOWN in the 8th inning).

Many thanks to Fredi Gonzalez for letting Ayala pitch to McCann. Unless there’s something wrong with Pinto, there’s no way Ayala should have been left in to pitch to 2 lefties.
Maybe Pinto can’t go 3 nights in a row. That’s the only explanation, because he’s dominated the Braves. Then again, we have to consider who Fredi coached under.
He got to see the manager in Atlanta make all sorts of inexplicable moves regarding the bullpen in game-deciding situations. He certainly learned all he needed to know about late game strategerie from our illustrious manager.
Fortunately for the Braves, Chance the Manager is not the only dugout decider capable of very questionable moves.

Jman……….if this game were to go another 4 or 5 innings, we would lose. Our best bullpen guys have been spent. So going for the knockout punch would have been worth it with having Ross pinch hit for Moylan.
