This is where I am already missing Conrad. Have anyone noticed the record since we brought back KJ? and how Prado is in a losing a little of the spark?
I don’t know what to make of him. He frustrates me more than all the other players who frustrate other Braves fans could ever frustrate…
And then he goes out there and hits the ball all over the place. And then he swings at everything and looks like a damn fool and pisses me off all over again.
No. I’m NOT joking. Javier has been victim of this team’s pathetic offense before. But tonight they scored 3 runs for him. Against a team we’re chasing. That means they’re a good team, right? I mean, after all, “we’re good” so somebody with a better record, who has handed us our ass two nights in a row, much be better than us, right? Last time I checked, that’s how it works.
TONIGHT, Vazquez failed to do his job. If he’s truly the Ace that you all claim he is.
I couldn’t give a sh!t less if nobody agrees with me.
did i just hear the marlins announcers call norton one of bobby’s pinch hit bullets? more like a pinch hit air rifle…that’s all norton ever hits when he swings.
Tomahawkin, Gonzo hit a year high 97MPH tonight, and had TOO MUCH life on the slider, a better problem than not enough like Lidge used to have. He was unlucky with that slap-hit grounder that Chipper (literally) rolled over on. He’s a live arm that gets more strikeouts than not, he’s fine. Our bullpen hasn’t cost us a lot of games this year, it’s mainly been a stagnant offense (see tonight). Our bullpen’s fine, and we have Carlyle (who was a monster being the diabetes trip) is coming back – that costs us zero prospects and he’ll likely replace Logan or Acosta.
I know I’ll catch hell for this….since KJ got back to the big club….offense not as smooth. Makes ya think. The “curse” of the Baby Braves…..other than Mac.
So sad how predictable this team and manager is. Late leads blown, bobby tries his best to lose with him anal sex partner norton pitch hitting. He is the worst player on a major league roster
logic seems to leave people when something bad happens…Norton pretty much had to hit…Church is hurt and Ross has to stay on the bench in case Mac can’t go for some reason…just think before you speak
OK I hate to say this but Bobby must go. He trots out the same relievers every night and does absolutely nothing NEW unless forced to get the team going. It is a TIRED FORMULA AND ONE THAT IS NOT WORKING!!!!
N8 the dude pitched 8 1/3 and gave up two runs that were actually his fault. This isnt XBOX where your best pitcher throws CG shutouts every time. This is the major leagues. You really can’t ask for a better outing.
The reason that Norton is on the roster is because 2 years ago I accidentally gave Norton Bobby Coxs photos. In the photos I gave Norton was a pitcher of Bobby Cox and a goat.
Activating Greg Norton right before the All-Star Break should have been writing on the wall. Not having a quality pinch hitter that puts “fear” into the other team (like the Phillies do with both Greg Dobbs and Matt Stairs) is the difference between a team being “happy” with winning 6 of 10……….and a team winning 10 in a row. The Phillies pull a couple of comebacks in that 10 game winning streak, with the help of a couple of timely pinch hits by both Dobbs and Stairs.
Yet, many of you cant see that. You cant see why having a BUM like Norton come up in the bottom of the 8th inning of that Saturday game against the Mets………cost the Braves a chance to come back and win that game.
And now we have Peter Moylan coming in in a pressure situation. We NEED him to send this game to extra innings. Can he deliver?
Please make sure..Wren gets the memo that this Offense still sucks…maybe even worse than everybody thought…still missing 2 or 3 integral parts of an offense to excel…this team will not get in the playoffs..
yea we send brooks conrad down for that loser of so called hitter norton.. cox and wren u both should be shown the dooor.. wren signing that old washed up pitcher in kawakami who cant win.. and now the ball game will be won right here and now….. moylan is in and game is over.. way to suck it up boys…
All the crap about Norton I hear totally takes away from what he gave us last year.
It bothers me. He was one of the best pinch hitters in baseball last year and clearly he’s lost it and may very well be at the end of his career.
I’d much rather have Conrad and I’m getting close to blowing my brains out about still not having Infante but at least acknowledge what Norton contributed off the bench last year.
I don’t care if we lose this. We’re better than the Marlins, we’d beat them if we were at home. We’re going to go back to Turner Field and we’re going to kill the Dodgers.
Sure would have been nice to have Conrad start at 2nd tonight instead of Kelly. Here is a deadline deal Braves could make release Norton and bring Conrad back up.
Agree with what Joe Simpson said. Javy Vazquez did his part, this is on the offense. 3 runs is the most they are going to give us each game its going to be hard to win. Got to do better. Josh Johnson is a tough pitcher but they could have done more tonight and the 1st night. Giving no kind of breathing room for their relievers. Soriano blew a save and now Gonzo. Chipper has got to do better. Mac showed up tonight. Nate got that bloop to fall but thats the only hit from our 1st 3 spots in the order. With Esco going out, needed more from them.
Rob from SC………….what’s going on with Heyward is that he is a 19 year old kid learning that even Double A pitching will make adjustments when you come up and hit over .400 from Single A ball.
If the Braves do not make any moves and end up 3rd or 4th, I’ll be bad. I hate investing all my time if they aren’t going to do something to improve….whether that be for this year or the future.
