“I’m not going to bash Bobby Cox for leaving in Vazquez to pitch the 8th. ”
Agreed, but I will bsh him for leaving Vasquerz in after giving up a baserunner/home run in the 8th. He came to the rescue two batters too late – puts Gonzalez into the game with a man on instead of the bases empty, which is two different scenarios entirely
If Cox takes Vasquez out after the home rrun , it stays a 3-2 ballgame
wow if we get swept you have to figure its real close to season over i hate to be negative but lets remember we have the best team in baseball coming up for about 7 games
we have to come back and win. i cant take 3 losses in a row. if we lose i am going to drink every bottle of salad dressing in my fridge. i got like 9 of them. a couple are chunky blue cheese. that’ll show em.
Robert – I have to agree a little. With the monster homerun followed by the crushed line drive out it was obvious that Vazquez did not have it anymore. He should have come out right then
So now if we can win this game for a second time, we will have overcome Cox’s mismanagement. But while we are trying to win it, Cox will still be working hard at continuing to mismanage.
That’s right Robert, the bad 0-2 pitch to Helms and the WP that followed had nothing to do with the Fish tying the game. Yep, it was all because of a runner at 1B. Thanks for clearing that up for us.
kotchman had an error the other night. unless they changed it after the fact. He should have had one earlier in the year when he did run to first base to tag a man out. he waited on the pitcher and the guy was safe. so…kotchman has had errors. they may be holding out on him because of his rep. but the guy has made some bone headed plays.
Are you frickin kidding me??? He got three runs of support, and couldn’t hold it. And couldn’t get out of the 7th inning. ENOUGH with the pitty party for Javier Vazquez.
HE gave up the HR to Ross, and HE gave up the walk (that ended up scoring).
Javier Vazquez NOT being a stopper robbed this team of a win. Not the team robbing him. I’m not saying he hasn’t been robbed before. He has.
But not tonight against a team we’re chasing in the wild card hunt and in a MUST WIN situation. Time to man up and bring your A game.
welcome back to 500 boys and girls. the braves are about to be swept by the marlins.. unexcusable and now there tied. 2 runs in the 8th and will guarantee a marlins walk off win…. went from a good team to a bad team once again in 3 games.. congrats..
I have no sympathy for Bennett. At a game earlier this season I watched him walk buy a bunch of kids asking for autographs over an hour before the game (they make people leave the designated autograph area when it gets under one hour before the first pitch) – he told the kids he would be back after he warmed up a little and then laughed. He knew full well that the kids would be cleared out.
WIth his being granted free agency, do the Braves have to pay him anything DOB?
yep. i just looked it up. they took his error off the book and changed it. it was an obvious error. bobby even took him out of the game after he did it.
Lol Robert, get counseling man, the only thing Bobby’s done all series that was probably stupid was use Norton to pinch hit. As Diaz falls deeper in his hole….
