Robert, I don’t even get the “we need a reliever” argument, in fact I haven’t heard an argument, lol, just people randomly calling for a new reliever. No idea why, makes no sense considering the two arms we’re getting back soon.
Another bat wouldn’t be bad, but I just don’t think that’d be enough to spark this offense. We have the wrong people swinging for the fences (just about everyone on the team), and a new bat isn’t going to fix that.
I would say YES to your first question. Win/Loss record is the only thing really hurting him. Rumor had it on the door was going to press charges on Bennett so he asked for his release. BMAC you a stud!
dangit. whats the score? whats going on? i came home to find that Bill Hohn had broken into my house and stolen my television, computer, and ironing board. now i am having to use the internet at the library. this is lame.
This is where not having Escobar hurts. Also, not having Omar Infante hurts to because he can come in a play shortstop on a night like tonight. Diory Hernandez is simply over matched right now. He could definitely use some seasoning in Triple A right now.
Stanton is the # 2 prospect in all of baseball. Maybin is a five tool center fielder. The Marlins offer is better than anything the Braves can offer unless we included Heyward and Hanson which we won’t.
Some people don’t understand that we can’t get a superstar player without trading Heyward or Hanson. Freeman is a good prospect, but nowhere near the level of Heyward or Stanton. Low A-Ball pitchers won’t get us anywhere.
Rob from SC……..not that Heyward’s 3 strikeouts in itself is cause to keep him in the Minors…….however, as I’ve said before, Jason Heyward will more than likely stay at Double A for the rest of the season.
If this same umpire crew works another Braves game at the Ted, I am going to sell Bill Hohn replica mustaches in the fan plaza. Then you can wear one and eject everyone sitting around you for no particular reason at all.
Try to get the your trading team partner do what what teams trading with the Pirates are doing … have them take on most of the salary
The Pirates are in full salary dump mode, the Braves are just in a holding pattern. In order to get your trading partner to eat salary, you have to give up more in talent. They aren’t going to just keep eat salary to be nice. I think it makes more since to trade for a need and at a salary point that comes close to a match. Kind of like what they do in the NBA.
How in the he!! can anyone explain Bobby’s lineup tonight? The Braves are in dire need of a win and he runs out the combo of Diory Hernandez and Kelly Johnson????? This is the same old Cox stupidity that just kills me. It remind of the Tony Graffanino Danny Bautiste days. Is there any way we can trade Bobby at the deadline for some common sense????
Rob from SC, I normally agree with you, but the Phils just got Cliff Lee without giving up a superstar top prospect. They kept their top 3-4 prospects, no? Admittedly, do not know nearly as much as most of you on here regarding prospects…among other things.
I think all the major deals are done. The Padres might move Adrian Gonzalez, but who cares, the Indians might move V-Mart (would be the biggest move), I don’t think Halladay is going anywhere. Probably one or two relievers getting moved around.
but the Phils just got Cliff Lee without giving up a superstar top prospect.
No, but they did get a good package. If we had a group of prospects like that in the minors, I think we’d probably already have a big bat with us now. But we don’t. Brown, Taylor and Drabek are their Hanson, Freeman and Heyward. We aren’t giving those three up and neither are they. But we cannot match Donald, Marson, Carrasco and Knapp. I’m actually higher on Carrasco than most anyway, so take that with a grain of salt.
I agree with you, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Dodgers or Red Sox make a big deal. As much as I despise the Sox, they seem like they are ready to pull a trigger on something big to jumpstart that team.
