Not to worry, we will find a way to get you there – maybe VJ can pick you up on his way back with CAB in hand – and he sounds like a Southern Gentleman who can accompany us – or at least maybe he’s not a “creepy guy at the gas station”. And RHR, we are here to support you – “it ain’t over till it’s over”

From the SI Pop Culture grid -
Person Josh Johnson would most like to interview: “Kirby Puckett. One of my idols growing up.”
lol yeah. I can tell he’s a big fan.
RHR, you OK? lol
July 29th, 20097:55 pm
Are you kidding?! Thanks.
KK is what he is a fourth starter going against a no.1 tonight.
Krispy Kremes thrives under pressure, been getting out of jams all year…maybe our future closer if Gonzo and Sori walk next year
Eff friggin’ John Wooden! Eff friggin’ Vince Lombardi! No one was better than The Bear!!!!!!!!!!!
July 29th, 20097:56 pm
Wait..what? Why would I not be okay?
July 29th, 20097:57 pm
Really, remove Slowey, and insert Baker, my point is this team has to get better and more clutch, b/c these guys are not CLUTCH!, yes but what has S.F done since the Atl series? looks like they regianed theri W/C perch to me!

Paul (I hope I don’t regret this)
I have noticed that you have been behaving better lately. You are still a one trick pony though. We already know (about 100 times) that you don’t like Francoeur, you think we need some arms, you think Hudson should be a reliever when he returns, and you despise Greg Norton as a player.
Get off the long posts, and the constantly repeating the same thing over and over again, and you might actually get read more often.
Unlike some folks, I don’t normally appreciate a dreadfully long post. If you can’t say it in less words, you’re probably don’t need to say it.
Just my humble opinion though.
Dunno, you’re just in a giddy mood. Fun to see you that way.
July 29th, 20097:59 pm
Bonafocio was out by a good half step i mean how can you miss that call.
Big AB here…KK vs HR, part 2.
FS Florida says that boy was out! Nice turn by Prado.
July 29th, 20098:00 pm
Must be endorphins, Shamus. I just got done running and turned the game on.
TcD – not exactly a ‘Southern’ Gentleman – transplanted New Yorker who spent 20 years in Virginia, so almost southern. cabravesfan will vouch for me (maybe – depending on the current status of her list).

Umps screw us over again
July 29th, 20098:02 pm
The Marlins And Their Speed Kills Us!
Bonifacio was out at first. Should’ve been a DP.
Kawakami has looked suspect at best his control is illuding him yet agaian whats new and grooves one on a 3-0 count to Hanley plain dumb just dumb
Well the umps cost us one there
Looks like the Blues cost us a run there.
Listen at fat ass Boog laughing.
Umps got us again
There was a lot of blazing speed and athleticism on the bases on that play, folks. Damn.
And now, Kawakami better keep Hanley at third and not spot Johnson a 2-0 lead.
Well there ya go, gotta love the Vaunted pitching staff.
Why not walk Ramirez when it gets to 3-0? *sigh*
Well….that’s it folks.
See ya tomorrow.
———- and again the freakin umps cost us a run, and probably the game.
July 29th, 20098:03 pm
Reality – give it up, you were called out, and properly so. Now…just wish the man good health, and let it go!
RHR: Must be endorphins, Shamus. I just got done running and turned the game on.
Cool RHR, we’re kinda doing the same thing. I got tore-up and turned the game on…
the ump missed a call but that doesnt mean you start throwing wild and decide to throw one down the pipe to the best hitter in the nl to this point
Hudson can’t come back fast enough
I really wish they’d just shutup about how great the Phillies are.
Cmon guys the Umps aren’t pitching. neither are they playing the game. You have to overcome stuff like that, and the Braves can’t do that!
July 29th, 20098:04 pm
Kawakami is terrible. I dont care if he’s our 4th or 5th starter… he is just terrible. we pay him too much and he is painful to watch.
Yes, and Mt Everest is just a little hill.
July 29th, 20098:05 pm
TcD maybe VJ can pick you up on his way back with CAB in hand
Yeah, I’m here and staying…though that may not be the greatest thing for y’all–I’m really on the warpath, now.
All righty! I’m on it…
Yep Joe, he has given up a run in 3 innings, what an ass. His era is 3 for this game. PATHETIC!!!
Now watch how fast the braves want to get out of this game, 123 and probably 3 first pitch swings.
I am impressed with how KK has worked out of several jams, especially when he could not throw a strike
Does everyone still think that the Braves only need a RP if they are going to make a deal?
July 29th, 20098:06 pm
Mixxo i mean im ticked off myself and we left a runner stranded at third with less than two outs (unacceptable) but to say this game is over after 3 haha man come on you need to learn the game and chill out comments like that need to go seriously go cry somewhere else
Mixxo, bye…Thank God!
Thanks! Reply is on the way!
I doubt I am getting anywhere TnBrian, and I really doubt you’re bad enough to move me.
Marlins play the game in FF at 4x and braves play it in REW 2x
July 29th, 20098:07 pm
Marlins defense on so far tonight
I’m gonna lose my mind!!
That stinks, too, because I had just found it…
Terry Pendelton to Chipper: How many licks to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? Ah 1? ah 2? Ah 3?
And swearing at me as well tsk tsk. I don’t recall cursing anyone here.
July 29th, 20098:08 pm
Freddy Sanchez the SF inst gonna help us either.
the hopes of the braves nation rest in your hands mr. hanson
that is a tough break, because bonifacio was definitely out. at least it only cost us one run… we need to get it back right here though.
nice ankle-high strike one against Anderson..
KK is a 17 game winner on the Yanks…Mr.Kremes will give you 6 innings of 2 run ball…it’s not his fault that the offense blows every time hw pitches
Son, I’ve probably FORGOT more than you’ll ever know about baseball.
July 29th, 20098:09 pm
“Cmon guys the Umps aren’t pitching. neither are they playing the game. You have to overcome stuff like that, and the Braves can’t do that!”
Like Soriano was suppose to overcome not getting the low strike call. They will miss them every now and then but they can corretly call Prado out and Bonafacio safe. Both plays looked similar to me, they both reached the bag about the same time.
And another freaking grounder to first! Sheesh!
Hey, have they had the friggin’ over-shift on tonight? I actually haven’t seen either of his AB (not a problem, considering the results).
And it must be muggy there, because he’s not wearing his glasses to catch.
Oh, damn, almost got a tear in my eye reading the Conrad article. Call the dude up!
Oh, and tell an editor to clean up the fourth from the bottom paragraph
3-4 hitters are now 1-12 in the series.
Any pitcher who can get through three-innings of Major League hitters, with one run scoring, no matter how he does it, has done a good job.
July 29th, 20098:10 pm
Jake, like I said Booby should’ve finished the walk instead of allowing Soriano to get frustrated.
July 29th, 20098:11 pm
And now F. Sanchez is gone. The Pirates have stripped it down. Good luck selling tix and winning games next season.
Steve from OH
I’m impressed that Huntington was able to get Alderson for Freddy Sanchez. Good deal for the Buckos..
Hey all RHR- I’m here now, your sanity is safe…
Feast Or Famine Offense So Far…
I think we are Among the tops in the league in games in which we’ve scored 10 or more runs, at the same time we are among tops in the league in game where our offense has been shut out…
July 29th, 20098:12 pm
KK back to the hill, Lemme see, maybe he will maybe he won’t but either way money says he loses this game.
Yeah Frank Wren, the Braves don’t need to make any moves. Just “stand pat”. Pathetic.
Looks like we’re heading for another hat-tipping day!
over/under on number of runs scored tonight by our bravos?
July 29th, 20098:13 pm
Mixxo your comments are assinian and your attitude is poor and i highly doubt you know one third the amount of baseball i know now do us a favor and go to bed.
Lucky me–I’m not wearing my cap tonight. And even if I was…
yeah, im kinda bummed about what the Pirates have done.. im moving to Pittsburgh in 3 weeks for grad school. going to those games will be interesting, to say the least.
July 29th, 20098:14 pm
Hugh Jazz: Yeah Frank Wren, the Braves don’t need to make any moves. Just “stand pat”.
Hugh, I wholeheartedly agree!
If we lose tonight, even the WC looks kind of impossible since fish will be 2 games ahead of us and our offense is starting to look ugly again.
“Jake, like I said Booby should’ve finished the walk instead of allowing Soriano to get frustrated.”
Soriano didn’t get frustrated. No matter who is up there you have to throw a strike. If he throws the same pitch to the next guy Couglin or whatever his name he could have just as easily hit the ball for an extra base hit, maybe not a homer, but either way its a blown save. You never know what would have happened. Easy to say I told you so when thats the case.
July 29th, 20098:15 pm
I’m afraid the vaunted Braves offense has suddenly gone very cold. Last night’s loss could very well turn the season.
July 29th, 20098:16 pm
hmm… why isnt Heyward up here, anyway??
KK just cannot throw strikes. I wish we could trade him.
braves fan lmh
I don’t get KK one minute he is pitching good and then all of the sudden he looks like he couldn’t hit water if he fell outta of a freaking boat!
July 29th, 20098:17 pm
cabravesfan – welcome home – I wanted to point out that I figured you would not want to come to Atlanta while the Braves are in your town, hence there is no rush.
This…is not good.
I think More teams are going to start Employing the secondary Shift on B-Macc to make him hit the ball the other way more…That’s gonna be bad because he is pretty much a dead pull hitter
July 29th, 20098:18 pm
Hudson, please come back, soon.
Since everyone is chipping in on traes. Basically I think the Braves should ( or have to) stand fast. They ain’t gonna win much of anything this years, but they can start building some chemistry and keep this gang together waiting on Heywood, Freeman, and even Schaffer while letting the rest of teh kiddies mature.
Lee will be only a 60/40 pitcher and they mortgaged some of the future
Of course if the Buccos have something to give away how about Doumit, Duke and McCutchen for a switch-hitting Third basemen, who was once an MVP
KK, Is Really Playing With My Emotions Right Now!
sweet fancy moses, this is sad
No not Chipper—Pendleton
July 29th, 20098:19 pm
KK throw a strike i mean hell make them beat you dont give them the game i cant stand that he reminds me alot of chuck james and we all know how that went down oh yea nice balk
“I’m afraid the vaunted Braves offense has suddenly gone very cold. Last night’s loss could very well turn the season.”
Or they have just ran into some top of the rotation guys. Nolasco had been hot and Gallardo and Johnson aren’t really people you just go and tee off on.
DOB: That was a GREAT deal by the Pirates. The guy they got for Sanchez, who was supposed to be a dump in salary, is one of the better prospects in baseball.
And the Pirates haven’t been winning or drawing since the early ’90s so it doesn’t matter that he was dealt regarding those two issues.
Phils made a great deal and wrapped the division up as well today.
