DUDE- why all the hate on Kotchman? One of the best defensive 1st basemen in the bigs. He starting to hit some homers. I’ll take him anyday… I think he will only get better as he gets more comfortable in Atl…
You think Wren could talk Kolb or Wickman off of the couch? Wickman reminds me of a mean version of Barney from the Simpsons.

Paul Lentz-Yeah, so what? I have a nice house, a 35 year marriage to a woman I still talk to, a son who calls several times a week and I guess I’ll just have to forego that place in the South of France for that house in Orlando I visit during Spring Training.
Depends all on what is important to you or who you limit taking advantage of. I’ve never felt like exploiting everyone and everything that comes into contact with my art. I guess that’s why I’ve awarded so many Wurlitzer prizes to this blogs’ denizens and shipped (at my expense) at least 100 prints to others here.
I have a nice house, a 35 year marriage to a woman I still talk to, a son who calls several times a week.
Congrats on the long marriage . Been married 38 years myself and my daughters and grandkids live in houses I built for them on my property within easy walking distance.
Lew………I’m not criticizing you or saying that you dont make money. I’m just saying that artists dont make the kind of money that superstar athletes, musicians, and movie stars make. That’s all. I have no doubt that you have done very well in your life.
As for your 2:28, believe it or not MOST of us have watched the Braves and baseball for more than 20 years and think your view is “limited” at best.
In fact, most of us find your comments to be rude, low class, and lacking of any baseball knowledge what so ever.
It’s funny, when you post about things other than Bobby Cox (3-4 times a year) you usually make rational well thought out posts.
But the Bobby thing has really gone too far. A Braves player can break his leg running to first and your response is that it is Bobby’s fault.
It is also absurd to think that you can post the same basic post 20 times a day and think people will not have a problem with you. Believe it or not, most of the regulars here can quote your thoughts on Bobby Cox in about every situation because we have seen the same post 50 times in the past month.
If you want people to take you seriously or you don’t want to be the butt of every blog joke, you might consider posting on a subject other than Bobby Cox from time to time…..
Paul-Probably better than I deserve, if the truth be known. It’s just that making all that money-well, it just ain’t all that. Like I said-depends on what you want or in Robert’s case, what you see depends on what you’re looking for. Too bad Robert’s tunnel vision is getting in the way of potential rationality.
fleming-Same back at you. My son and daughter in law live in our Orlando house. Gotta take care of the kids when you can-especially in this economic mess.
Thank goodness we can joke about Dayton Moore. ‘Cause folks, had KC not hired him away, I have no doubt that he and not Frank Wren would now be the GM of the Braves.
And I’d be just as cranky as Robert, only with a different target!
I’ll second the sentiments about money. If you can do what you love, put a roof over your head, and keep the home fires burning, then you’ve done OK in my book.
“If you want people to take you seriously or you don’t want to be the butt of every blog joke, you might consider posting on a subject other than Bobby Cox from time to time…..”
That would basically be a waste of time. As long as he is around, the team is poisoned It doesnt matter who bats where, who pitches when, ro whatever – if Cox is in charge of it, it will end up fubar
a 1 if you think we should stand pat
a 2 if you think we need to aquire bat/releiver for this season or
a 3 if you think we should sell off some vets and play for the future
BTW- I think Ricciardi drops his price and moves Halladay by tomorrow. As one baseball executive said Halladay’s value drops 40 % if they wait until the off season. He could help a team for a shot at 2 WS now versus just one next year. If Ricciardi’s gonna take less than I doubt he’ll want to dump him in his division. Hmmm. I’m liking this more every day.

Hey UNCBrave, what if we told you that Wren was going to trade for a starting pitcher and a right handed bat off the bench in mid August, would you be happy then?
If by “sit on his hands” you mean Wren went out and got Nate McLouth when nobody knew he was available AND had him for an extra month than these other teams will have their players, then you are right. Well, The Mets are doing there part Braves fans. They’ve shut out the Rockies for 20 something innings in a row now.
Our teams could actually be tied in the loss by tonight. Who saw that coming while Omar was coming off the tracks just a few days ago?

So what do you think Atlanta is going to try to do with Kenshin Kawakami (i’ll type his name correctly instead of crappy for once).
I’m talking after this season…I think its apparent whenever Tim Hudson comes back he’s the odd man out.
I know it was a gamble of sorts to sign him to the dollar value and length of his contract…but do you believe this was a good sign?
