Why do I sense a possible DL stint in the future of a certain pitcher? DOB

Hell, is it possible for him to be on it til the end of the season? We might actually contend if that were to happen!

I called last night in one of my “Bank On It!” Phrases that he’d probably be tired out by the middle of the fifth inning…

How do you say please stop stealing money and go back to Japan in Japanese?

There aren’t people in the minors who can do a better job that this guy?

Balls or Home Runs… and he’s getting paid 8.5 million. At least Hampton stole his money without also killing the team on the field.

In all fairness to KK, DOB did mention his shoulder earlier in the blog today. If Cox knew that, and sent him back in after giving up a homer to the pitcher, then this is on Cox.

Gonna be tied for 5th, 4 games out of the WC after tonight’s loss. It’s going to be really hard to overcome all those teams if they can’t even beat the Marlins–especially since most of them are improving themselves.

“Way more important for your negativity to be proven correct than for your team to have a decent season, huh?” nolie

I know that comment wasn’t directed at me, but I must comment on my behalf. I don’t wish for failure. But when I’m on here making rational, thought out points and homers want to argue with me and start calling names, and throwing their “knowledge” around, I’m GOING to play the gotcha game.

I don’t remember who it was (don’t really care), that I’m going back and forth with about this 4 games over .500 thing. But all I was trying to do was make a point, that other than the 5-1 start, this team for some reason has not gotten to 4 games over .500 in the last year, with MANY chances to do so. So I cautioned on assuming the wild card was ours, when we cna’t get to 4 games over (since I’m pretty sure that an 83-79 record is NOT going to get the job done).

Damn right I’m gonna continue to play “gotcha” with smart ass bloggers that want to start a battle that they can’t win. Especially when I made the point, it was civil and for nothing more than conversation sake.

Thanks for your time.

PS: KK isn’t very good. Big shock. Didn’t make it past the 5th inning. Predictable.

If there is a single moron out there that STILL thinks that Hudson won’t be in the rotation when ready, step up to the microphone and preach away. Paul….. you out there?

Kawakami’s control has been so bad that when he finds “THE AMERICAN STRIKE ZONE” he gives up a bunch of “AMERICAN DONGS.”

ERA be damned. He asks for this almost every single start. Tonight they punched him out.

Braves have to stop treating him as if Japan will declare war on them if they get him out of the rotation. Skip his start ANYTIME you can prior to Hudson coming back.

I got a bad feeling that this is where the wheels are going to come off for this team. We will get swept by the Marlins and its all down hill. i hope I am wrong.

BTW…KK has got to go to the pen when Huddy comes back. And if we are forced to keep him in the rotation next year, I hope he improves, because it will suck to have to say goodbye to Javy or Huddy. I commend him for all that he has to handle in his first year, and I hope he improves, but he is a # 5 starter at best and we have too much pitching talent (given Huddy comes back well) to have a true # 5 guy in this rotation.

You people are blasting the offense and KK, yet the people who were discussed the most as trade bait for the Braves were Vazquez and Yunel. You don’t want to give up Heyward or Freeman and Hanson or JJ so who do you trade. Trading any of these guys do not make us better. You just plug one hole and open up another. Supes………..Kawakami had one bad outing tonight. It happens. However, he has done a decent job overall.

Also, you still dont get the thing about getting “maximum” use out of our players. If Tim Hudson had been in the starting rotation all year long instead of Kawakami……do you think that the Braves would be much better than we are now record wise? The Braves have hardly scored any runs for Kawakami this year. So unless Hudson had an ERA under 1.00 this year, he wouldnt have a much better record than Kawakami.

Also, Kawakami has had a couple of games that Peter Moylan “blew up” and had a meltdown in, costing him a couple of victories.

Which gets to what I’ve been saying all along about the Braves problems. Tim Hudson replacing Kawakami in the starting rotation does not make the Braves a much better team.

Meanwhile………..Garret Anderson just RIPPED another homer run. Game not over yet. If the offense can wake up, then the Braves can make a comeback. Garrett now batting .299 in 274 at-bats this season.

Marc from FL

I don’t see this team selling and here’s why:

End of this year: Hudson walks, JJ signs
End of 2010: Javy walks, Hanson signs
End of 2011: KK walks, Hewyard signs or we pick up a bat
End of 2012: Lowe walks, who knows for sure this far out

Bottom line though, we’re set to stay in contention the next four years while freeing up more than 10mil a year (KK’s contract scales right?) to make room for offseason signings and locking up young talent. I think this is all part of FW’s plan to be honest.

However, given the fact that he is coming off elbow surgery………plus the fact that we need a power arm in the bullpen……….then having Hudson in the bullpen makes sense.

Yet you cant see that. You think that having Tim Hudson in the starting rotation will make our starting pitching so strong, that it can over the lack of depth in the bullpen and the absence of a decent bench.
