Thankfully Bonafacio and Ramizer bailed out Gonzo by having impatient at bats and swinging at balls and pitches in the dirt.
Lets gets some runs!
cabravesfan – wow – totally agreed with you on JJ’s removal (i.e. against it) and you misconstrued it – you are so lucky that I am completely in the tank for you. As a consequence, you must drink a little more wine, and I will consider additional modes of punishment.
Whew….I was sweatin’ bullets.
Beurhle makes history…42 straight hitters retired.
Maybe I should continue to post bad things about Gonzalez
July 28th, 20099:26 pm
A big whew. Thank you Gonzo!
Buehrle is PERFECT again!!
Seriously, Miami should be ashamed, this is a good, young exciting team. I’m not sure how you argue they deserve a franchise. The Oklahoma City Marlins…now that Los Angeles Lakers weird.
Greg Norton HAS to be the worst player in all of baseball. I guess he isn’t content with being an automatic out, he has to be 2 automatic outs per AB now.
how about four runs here…or five
Honorable Mention: Keith Lockhart.
Overflow crowd of 13,128 tonight. Whew
Standing room only at the Land Shark!

I like it.
Let’s go with sweatin’ bullets…I don’t feel like getting the boot from this blog.
Hard choice the people in Miami…South Beach…or the Marlins. Yeah…I can really justify bashing the decision there.
Clout takes a little rib music.
two huge strikeouts by the NL batting leader (H. Ramirez) tonight, one with a runner at third and one out in the fifth, and that one with two on to end the seventh in a tie game.
my bad…glad to see I’ve got you right where I want you
July 28th, 20099:28 pm
Well we got a baserunner….way to take one for the team
It was pretty obvious that Gonzo didn’t want to hit that guy on an 0-2 count…come on, Marlins.
thanks for taking one for the team Nate
Come on and steal a base
hope they can bring him in
Dude, I can’t believe I am missing a good game cuz I am at work and forgot my password… Any Links? Please helpp!!
Rub it Glen!
What’s Diaz hitting? .300-something? Yep, don’t need him messing up a 2-2 game.
Buehrle perfect through 5! Are you kidding me!?
Pitcher throws back-to-back “perfect” games ??….Bet that hasn’t been done in a while…
cubs coming back on the stros, 4-3 now
the hopes of the braves nation rest in your hands mr. hanson
July 28th, 20099:29 pm
Much Like Atlanta, Dolphin Stadium has no commuter rail access to it…
When I lived in Boca Raton, That was the Cop-Out Many People used as to why they don’t attend marlins games….
This BS with Norton has to Stop!
Seriously the guy is a complete joke as a major league player.
July 28th, 20099:30 pm
I’m Not Sure if that has changed but that’s the way it was a few years ago….
RHR: Gary Coleman is actually pretty fat, Shamus.
Correct RHR, but does his diminutive fatness outweigh the ability to enter a Dwarf House door and clear it by a foot? In poundage? Fat azz prolly still weighs 100.
OK, my first sentence confuses even me, just ignore please…
July 28th, 20099:31 pm
White Sox lefty Mark Buehrle has now retired 43 straight batters to set a Major League record.
6th inning. Are you kidding? Wow. Could it happen again?
Dave, I’m telling you it’s really hard to believe a team with no fans, no stadium, no big TV deal, and basically no owner has won 2 more World Series in the last 16 years than the Cubs have won in last 100 and of course 1 more than Milwaukee/Atlanta has won in last 51. Very strange!!!
Meanwhile…Colorado is still trailing 3-0 in the top of the 8th. Still have a chance to be a very productive night if the Braves can get a couple of runs…
Art of managing. Piniella just pinch hits for a position player with sacks full in the 4th inning with TWO out and guy delivers. The Cubs who were losing big are now back in a game that is winnable. Bobby would never do anything unconventional or operate on a hunch. Sometimes you just can’t play close to the vest.
DOB, thanks for pointing that out, but that’s like talking about a no-hitter while the game is still on. Watch Ramirez come back and bite the Braves before this game is over.
July 28th, 20099:32 pm
McCann is due…come on baby. Drive one to gap.
has a pitcher ever thrown even no hitters back to back?
Can Chipper at least take one pitch from the new pitcher?
cabravesfan – that is where I will always be.
July 28th, 20099:33 pm
There has been consecutive no-hitters…but I am not sure about perfect games….for which he has a chance.
tight ball game
C’mom Mac …..clutch time!
July 28th, 20099:34 pm
Big spot in this ballgame
July 28th, 20099:35 pm
Mac = owned
Does Mac have a hit tonight?
McCann continues to be anti-clutch.
Stagnant offense tonight. Off day was a detriment.
just wish chipper would quit his best impersonations of frenchy…. that could have been a big inning.
damn…I’m guessin its Moylan time now right…
July 28th, 20099:36 pm
wow! Mac just not up to the task tonight. Mac seems to disappear in too many games. Not good for your clean up hitter.
MLB will send you a new password if you click on the link.. Assuming you can check your mail from work. (Most ISP’s offer a web based email link to POP3 mail on their homepage.)
There have NEVER been consecutive perfect games. Only pitcher to throw 2 straight no hitters was a Reds pitcher in the 30’s. I’m blocking out his name. Think it was 38.
ok gonzo didn’t blow the game, but my boy moylan is next and he is another candidate!!!! Just make sure one of those “sinkers” stay high and I’m off the hook yet again! Braves fans love to complain about the bullpen so they’ll forget all about lil ole me!
July 28th, 20099:37 pm
I’m calling a game winning hit by ESCO in the 9th to win it!
“”Pitcher throws back-to-back “perfect” games ??….Bet that hasn’t been done in a while…”"
That would be one of the greatest feats (if I’d wanted to amuse the house yankees, I’da used “feets”) in baseball, if not arguably THE greatest.
The Braves had back to back no-hitters earlier this year when Frenchy and Logan batted back to back in the line up.
Rob from SC
Jonny Vandermeer SP?
Moylan in but the game is tied, he should be on his game
Leading Off an inning against a fast Marlins Lineup, Not Good!
I miss Brooks Conrad. He did everything right.
July 28th, 20099:38 pm
Moyland in…everyone hold on, you never know if it’ll be “good Peter” or “bad Peter” out there on the mound!
DOB has me on IGNORE due to past indiscretions. Even though I continue to have his back in the Hudson-Bow Incident.
“has a pitcher ever thrown even no hitters back to back?”
Yes. Once, in the late 1930’s or early 40’s, pretty sure it was like 1938 or 1939 — Johnny Vandermeer of the Reds.
geeez , we have LOB something like 12 tonight
July 28th, 20099:39 pm
Any reason from Chipper about why he no longer takes pitches.
dont know if it was mentioned but heyward had 2run homer tonight in the first game
July 28th, 20099:40 pm
you dissing my boy?? how dare you!
Best impression of Frenchy? Are you kidding? Chipper can’t do it all you know.
Wait..who am I dissing?
The Bird and Indian
July 28th, 20099:41 pm
43 in a row.
I got a perfect game question…
If someone throws a perfect game, yet the team gets an error on a pop-FOUL ball, and the end boxscore results in 0-0-1 does the pitcher still get credit for a “perfect” game?
Oh no, i really wanted to know if he had a hit. I didn’t think so but haven’t been in here the whole time so wasn’t sure.
July 28th, 20099:42 pm
Mets helpin’ us out (4-0 now in the bottom of the 8th)….we need some runs! First things first…got to get ‘em here Pete.
July 28th, 20099:43 pm
The Stache …rings him up !!!!!
Hermida, that’s ridiculous.
Professional play folks
There goes the perfect game.
touch batter for Pete. THese kind of at bats scare me.
Woohoo!!! That’s a Yunelesque mental gaffe!
Walk ends the perfect game for Buehrle.
WOW! Hermida pulled a braves stunt on the basepaths, we’ll take it!
Aww he walked him. It’s over.
July 28th, 20099:44 pm
heads up Escobar
Not hitter still intact.
WOW GREAT PLAY ESCO!
There goes the perfect game and no hitter.
K-zone syas walk was a strike
Hee hee hee!
There goes the no-no too.
July 28th, 20099:45 pm
and now a hit…stand and applause everyone…just amazing stuff
