Wow the Kelly love is getting deep in here. “he could become one of the best 2B in the game”
Not on my watch!
When Casey hits one, they are bombs. Hard to believe he has not hit more when you consider what a good contact hitter he is. Always getting the bat on the ball.
Their Right Field has four decks to it…check out ballparksofbaseball.com for proof…
But I love the homer, Rock On!!!
KJ could steal 40 bases a year..if they’d turn him loose…
July 26th, 20093:42 pm
KJ stealing 2B! Guess he wants to remain a Brave.
I know what you’re saying but technically I think it is considered “upper deck” at that park…nevertheless the ball was crushed
Gov. Clinton Tyree
Look at Kelly takin’ the base. Aggressive!
Sorry, who was it that said Kotchman didn’t have power?
5 homeruns baby. And slowly counting.
Nice day for KJ
Erased that bunt attempt by DLowe
Looper’s finally worn down Kendall. Or he no longer gives a shi!.
Time for Nate to redeem himself
Awful attempt of a bunt. Who is to blame for our inabilities to bunt a runner over? You would think that our pitchers would be practicing.
Whoo look at TY Johnson go!
July 26th, 20093:43 pm
nate needs to put on the jets there
Nova Scotia Steve
I just got chills when I read the word “Kolb”….man that was a rough year
McLouth of the South – it’s Mixxo’s special reverse psychology. Guaranteed to work 99% of the time.
Oh well. Apparently if we hit a grouner here they home right in on a Brewers glove.
I don’t McClouth is comfortable batting leadoff…
July 26th, 20093:44 pm
As disappointing as the loss yesterday was…if the Braves just keep winning series (which they will, again, with a win today), getting into the playoffs will take care of itself.
Kotchman has untapped power………lol wtg casey
Is DOB being nducted into the Hall of Fame?
Its All good We Got This Game in the Bag…And Plus there is nothing better than Chicks that dig the Longball, lol
Yeah PWHjort Matt Holliday is no where near as good as Tex. The Braves should have gotten Kotchman and a top prospect atleast or traded him elsewhere for the better package.
July 26th, 20093:45 pm
PWHjort..ok, you are on the wrong page too my friend. It is not about doggin Kelly Johnson. I like Kelly Johnson.
What it is about is using an asset that is expendable to address a need for this baseball team. That’s all it’s about.
So if not KJ, who do you want to trade? Escobar? Prado? Infante? Some prospects, if so which ones? Do you want to nothing?
But stop making this all about Kelly guys. This is about the team. I put the team’s needs first.
Steve from OH
Well Steve, then you should join us in speculating which need KJ will help the team address rather than telling us how ++ he is.
Well, I’m not much of a speculator, but I do see matches with Arizona for Qualls and a prospect or two (though I’m not a fan of their system), Seattle (he seems like a Jack Z kinda guy), but I’m not entirely sure what we’d ask for, San Fran, and St. Louis. Like I said, you could use him to address the need in the bullpen, but I’d want some quality minor leaguers back too, or you could use him as part of a larger package to get someone good.
Braves need to sign that mini-Chorizo….
Nice play Kotchman!
My internet service was giving me problems when I was getting ready to type out about Diaz being known for having a couple of bad at-bats and then BAM he gets a hit like he did before the Kotchman homer.
Also, nice RIP by Kotchman here. He got A HOLD of that one, lol. I like Kotchman batting in the bottom of the order. He surprises with the homer from time to time. His glove work warrants his lack of consistent power.
5-0 lead will hopefully be safe.
July 26th, 20093:46 pm
Anyone notice that whenever Casey Kotchmen hits a homerun….he absolutely destroy’s it…
Like he’s homers are cheap
Sorry To Get My Panties in a wadd… I was having too much fun…
I will offer you a truce…? “The Stickiest of Icky”? LOL
Muntoya 1st after 80 laps at Brickyard 400.
McLouth of the South -
SOS’s “OVER” might be a bit strong, but I know what he’s thinking…
Oh, and see Soph’s 3:43.
That was NOT a strike
July 26th, 20093:47 pm
YES OR NO: Will we see a complete game today for a change?
I agree, he’s got speed and talent. But playing for Bobby he’s not going to be using that speed. Sounds like another good reason for him to get a fresh start somewhere where his talents can continue to shine.
KJ/Church/Medlen for Ludwick/Relief Pitcher
I knew we would add on eventually.
Such little faith on the Braves blog.
Gotta love that Atlanta Braves starting pitching. Get a couple runs and head straight to Soriano in the 9th.
Close game and the starter leaves in the 5th or 6th? Outlook not so good.
July 26th, 20093:48 pm
I want To See a Complete Game Today…Especially with the off day tomorrow… Our Blow-pen will be well rested for the exhusting series in Florida
A complete game would be huge…especially with the off day tomorrow…huge
mini-Chorizo doing his best Bo Jackson impression – running right out the end of the stadium.
BravesFaninMD, sure would be nice.
This Braun guy…is starting to get on my nerves !!
July 26th, 20093:49 pm
Need another DP here.
And a hit for Fall Out Boy.
Stop stealing my material! Haha
Where was that?
July 26th, 20093:50 pm
WOW! CLOUT COMES THROUGH!
if the Braves just keep winning series
since after the All-Star Break they’ve won 2 series and gained two games in the standings … however since they’re only winning series and not sweeping some of them they’ve also lost 2 1/2 games in the standings.
So really winning two series so far has only netted them a loss of a half game in the standings.
Sometimes winning a series is not enough, sometimes they’ll need to have sweeps in there as well
Go Go Gadget Arm!
WHAT A CATCH
Nice catch Natey !!
Prince is having a tough series, huh?
Hell Yeah! Nate-Dawg!!!
Oh my Natey Nate. Great catch!
All I'm Saying Is...
By this point in the season, I’d rather my 1B have 25 cheap homers than 5 shots. But let’s not quibble with a rare event (i.e. a Kotchman homer) as those runs are huge. LET’S GO BRAVES!
can o corn
Nice grab there by Nate. Just a loud out, lol.
Make up for lack of runs driven in!
Phill’s winng 9-2 …… there is no catching them
July 26th, 20093:51 pm
What a catch by Nate!!
The Braves D is playing on it’s own hot streak. Man, every other inning they’re is a play like that.
Ugh, Corey Hart? Are you serious?
Damn. Good thing we tacked some on last inning.
Tomahawkin – I’m giving you a death stare right now, just so you know.
No way we see a complete game now…. Lowe needs to concentrate and finish the job!!!!
no more shut out…
tell ya what…i have to eat a little more crow…d-lowe is “ace-ing” up today…pitching great. i have been harder on d-lowe than most (due to his contract), but he is giving us exactly what we needed today…
Freaking bad camera work. I have no idea where that homer landed. Who was holding that camera?
Loaf Didn’t Even Move! LOL
July 26th, 20093:52 pm
Forget about that s***.
I guess that was a no doubter. GA did not move a bit. Nice to still have the lead.
Man I think that’s soo funny man…
This is for you…check out the link
Gotta admit, as much as the Brewers love the ball down, I was a little concerned with Lowe and his sinker today.
Good catch by Nate
Then a 2 run HR given up ~_~
Rob from SC
fix your Sh** now Lowe
Might be time to yank Lowe.
July 26th, 20093:53 pm
I missed most of the conversation. Who are you trying to trade KJ for?
Loaf didn’t need to waste his energy by moving…that was a no doubter, knew it as soon as I heard it.

Are there grooves into the infield holes that only Brewers know how to hit into? Seriously
Paul…I’m not sure it EVER came down…if it did …I think it was out of camera range….
July 26th, 20093:54 pm
Ryan Braun and Randy Winn=Braves killers
Not going to gain ground on a team that is on the run the Phils are on right now… They have gained a lot of ground in the WC, though. All they have to do (for both races) is just keep winning series.
No worries, dude it’s all good (however, if you cursed us I’m joining up with RHR to hunt you done…)
of course, right after i write that he lets up 3 hits, including a 2-run jack!
Nice bobble KJ
Hotdammit. This is not good.
KJ is such a f’ing poser!
….and here come the wheels.
Now, there’s the All-Star glove work that we’ve come to love from Kelly Johnson.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
