There is rain in the area but looks to be mostly southwest of the city (mainly in Illinois)
*Francoeur has left 4 on base so far for the mets
Wayne in Utah
Don’t you guys that were calling for Prado to bunt feel stupid right about now???
NEVER bunt early in the game. Only in certain circumstances when a single run is needed late in the game, do you even think about bunting.
Earl Weaver used to say that he was glad when the other team bunted, because they were giving him an out.
Exception: when the pitcher is batting with less than 2 outs and a runner(s) on.
Oh, I get it! Their guy cann get a hit to center!

Why exactly is Jason Kendall their leadoff hitter?
thanks javy for the free pass!
Hmm…an unintentional intentional BB? Yes, no, maybe so…
Yes Uts Retractable…

Javy Come On!
wanna bet we give up a run here. notorious for getting runs, then giving up some the very next inning. not exactly sure why we do that….
July 24th, 20098:57 pm
I think I heard that Bobby is guest managing for the Brewers tonight.
How many catchers have ever hit leadoff for their team?
Mudwrestling? Uhhhh, not for guys. Duh.
July 24th, 20098:58 pm
Damn. Here comes trouble.
Council is Infegueo the past few games
Javy Come On!!!

A professional is a member of a vocation founded upon specialised educational training.
The word professional traditionally means a person who has obtained a degree in a professional field. The term professional is used more generally to denote a white collar working person, or a person who performs commercially in a field typically reserved for hobbyists or amateurs.
In western nations, such as the United States, the term commonly describes highly educated, mostly salaried workers, who enjoy considerable work autonomy, economic security, a comfortable salary, and are commonly engaged in creative and intellectually challenging work.. Less technically, it may also refer to a person having impressive competence in a particular activity or Garret Anderson of the Atlanta Braves.

I have a feeling that this will be one of those games where the offense hits and the pitching sucks… That happened a lot during interleague play…
Heath…………you dont BUNT with one of your best hitting clutch players batting. I remember against the Mets during Sunday’s game, a situation came up in the bottom of the 3rd where Prado was up with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs. People on here were crying for Bobby to call the bunt. Prado hit into a double play and Chipper made the 3 out. Immediately, cries were calling Bobby names for not bunting.
I said, “Bobby was right to have Prado swinging. You want to play for the big inning”. I was called names. Meanwhile, 2 innings later in the bottom of the 5th, Nate McLouth comes up again, the exact situation. Immediately people on here were calling for the bunt. I said, “no, play for the big inning”. McLouth ended up working a walk. Prado then comes up and gets a single with the bases loaded. The Braves went on to score 5 runs in that 5th inning.
Even if Prado hit into a double play instead of hitting a homer in the 3rd……it was still the right move.
Who here thinks Prado can keep his bat going anywhere near as good as it has been ever since he got the starting job? His emergence was so unexpected that I have no idea what to expect in the future. If Martin stays this good (or even close) then the Braves could be one bat away from having a scary lineup (I’m thinking about Heyward and Freeman, and drooling over what could be down the road)
July 24th, 20099:00 pm
And, what exactly is “Infegueo”?
in one of those little plastic pools for kids, yeh come on!!!
Boog: “It hits those stands and then it’s a foot race between Diaz and Prado”
But of course Diaz wins, he did P90X!
where the hell was that pitch?
What is going on here
July 24th, 20099:01 pm
go figure, we finally score JV some runs and he cant get anybody out.
Marc From Fl
I was one of the Kotchmeister haters early in the season because he doesn’t hit for power at a power position, especially in our lineup
But not making any errors makes up for that
And Javy Has been Garbage this Inning, Perfect team for Javy to have his D game!
Is Roger going out to the mound or what?
This is really uncharacteristic for Javy. Not throwing strikes…
plus, if prado were to bunt, they would’ve walked chipper to load the bases and hope for the dp
Geez, Javy’s having a meltdown here. It’s been a while since he’s done this.
ok, here’s javy’s bad inning. If he can keep the lead for the Braves we should be good
What is happening to our Javy?
Rut R’oh Raggy!
I’m just curious. What is Craig Counsell’s lifetime batting average against the Braves? He just always seems to kill us, doesn’t he?
I would enjoy it…
July 24th, 20099:02 pm
This is dangerous…very dangerous
Craig Biggio comes to mind…
Bobby looks like he’s itching to pick his nose now…
cabravesfan……….as long as Schafer, Francoeur and Kelly were in the line-up…..it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for us to ever hit like this with any kind of consistency.
Now, things are different (unless Bobby can find some way to squeeze Kelly Johnson back into the line-up, lol)
Co-Sign on that!
Counsell has been a pain in our Asses his whole career
July 24th, 20099:03 pm
We both need to enjoy it.
We need innings out of Javy. Can’t afford to go to the pen early in this game after yesterday.
Prince Fielder reminds me of Reuben Studdard…
Heyward walks again
Soph – Infuego = on fire.
July 24th, 20099:04 pm
Steve from OH, nolie, any other draft lovers: http://mlbbonusbaby.com/2009/07/22/draft-review-atlanta-braves/
Scroll to the bottom for his overall take.
Needed that by Javy.
buh bye, fatboy!
To Prince Fielder….!
“Hoe Sit Down!”
well i was feeling good about the game
July 24th, 20099:05 pm
They’ve found a good out pitch for Fielder. One more to get out of this.
cabravesfan – you are one sick puppy!
RHR – I know I was just being an ass b/c of the way he spelled it.
as soon as you learn that it’s all about me…
July 24th, 20099:06 pm
Oh, and b/c he’s a Brewers fan.
Lowe pitches SUNDAY BOOG
Good Damage Control By Javy…
That is the worst Inning I’ve seen from Javy since I can remember!
Anybody else get the feeling that we are going to have to score 8+ to win this one?
Good to see Javy regroup and take control of that inning!
Actually, en fuego= on fire.
Speak much Spanish in Wisconsin?
Havent you guys been following Matt Harrison since his trade to the Rangers? Dude is the WHITE VERSION of Horatio Ramirez. Dude cant stay healthy, gives up a lot of hits, high ERA, basically struggles to get through 5 innings, not a very high strikeout to walk ratio. Why would we miss a BUM like Harrison?
Meanwhile, nice dealing by Vazquez. Way to get those 2 strikeouts to end the threat.
July 24th, 20099:07 pm
Nice rebound Javy!
under the circumstances, that was good damage control from Javy. Keep up the scoring, we might have to out slug them in order to win against them
Yeah…I don’t really like domes a whole lot.
July 24th, 20099:08 pm
Kotchman up, 1 out.
Oh I missed that Soph, not paying attention.
My guess for the trivia question is
and Pudge Rodriguez
McFann @ 9:07 -
Me either and especially baseball in domes. It’s meant to be played outside!
Hold it…Kendall is their leadoff hitter?
Wow…that might be crazier than having your catcher bat—uh……
July 24th, 20099:09 pm
I hope we score a lot…
Milwaukee is a good team and we have to realize how good Javy has been for us…
Sometimes pitchers have to battle…I think this could be one of those “gutsy” performances you hear about in post game interviews!
Where have all of Kotchman’s doubles gone?
and now im feeling better
July 24th, 20099:10 pm
way to prove me wrong kotchy
What is the trivia Q? It’s about catchers?
Now the Yankees want Halladay because of Wang’s injury
SF/COL underway…go Giants.
July 24th, 20099:11 pm
How is it that nobody on this team can bunt?
Is bunting failure contagious?
In my opinion the Yankees would have to give up
Chamberlain or Kennedy
Jesus Montero – C
Austin Jackson – CF
July 24th, 20099:12 pm
What continues to baffle me is that some of you guys RIP Bobby for doing what I see as the right thing (like not having Prado bunt in the top of the 3rd). Yet some of you TOTALLY support Bobby using “his guys” in certain situations, when it is obvious that they cant be depended on to deliver.
Kind of Ironic isnt it………I seem to be in the “minority” when it comes to the times I support Bobby……..and also in the “minority” when it comes to when I RIP Bobby.
Man This Team Sucks Overall in bunt attempts!
Javy is usually a good bunter
team still needs some bunting practice
Ok, I’m gonna say this until the Braves prove me wrong. Damn our inability to bunt!
July 24th, 2009
Man This Team Sucks Overall in bunt attempts!
Not according to Chip Carray
Still don’t understand sending down Conrad and calling up KJ.
July 24th, 20099:13 pm
Whoa. That was hit hard.
Take that Counsel, you annoying little sh*t.
July 24th, 20099:14 pm
Lucky break!!! (well in the brewers case .. lets hope not)
The Kotchmeister is One Slow S.O.B. CheeseWhiz!
Vicente Padilla has been diagnosed with the swine flu.
I hope he gets better soon
NO MORE BOBBY
ATTENTION KJ LOVERS – Prado is our second baseman!! Johnson had pretty much the first half to prove he should be our starter and blew it. I don’t think he deserves to even be on our roster at the moment but Bobby sticks with his favorites.
Also its funny how the hatred for Yunel has died down. Told you he was money!
