Don’t you guys that were calling for Prado to bunt feel stupid right about now???

NEVER bunt early in the game. Only in certain circumstances when a single run is needed late in the game, do you even think about bunting.

Earl Weaver used to say that he was glad when the other team bunted, because they were giving him an out.

Exception: when the pitcher is batting with less than 2 outs and a runner(s) on.

A professional is a member of a vocation founded upon specialised educational training.

The word professional traditionally means a person who has obtained a degree in a professional field. The term professional is used more generally to denote a white collar working person, or a person who performs commercially in a field typically reserved for hobbyists or amateurs.

In western nations, such as the United States, the term commonly describes highly educated, mostly salaried workers, who enjoy considerable work autonomy, economic security, a comfortable salary, and are commonly engaged in creative and intellectually challenging work..[1][2][3][4] Less technically, it may also refer to a person having impressive competence in a particular activity or Garret Anderson of the Atlanta Braves.

Heath…………you dont BUNT with one of your best hitting clutch players batting. I remember against the Mets during Sunday’s game, a situation came up in the bottom of the 3rd where Prado was up with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs. People on here were crying for Bobby to call the bunt. Prado hit into a double play and Chipper made the 3 out. Immediately, cries were calling Bobby names for not bunting.

I said, “Bobby was right to have Prado swinging. You want to play for the big inning”. I was called names. Meanwhile, 2 innings later in the bottom of the 5th, Nate McLouth comes up again, the exact situation. Immediately people on here were calling for the bunt. I said, “no, play for the big inning”. McLouth ended up working a walk. Prado then comes up and gets a single with the bases loaded. The Braves went on to score 5 runs in that 5th inning.

Even if Prado hit into a double play instead of hitting a homer in the 3rd……it was still the right move.

Who here thinks Prado can keep his bat going anywhere near as good as it has been ever since he got the starting job? His emergence was so unexpected that I have no idea what to expect in the future. If Martin stays this good (or even close) then the Braves could be one bat away from having a scary lineup (I’m thinking about Heyward and Freeman, and drooling over what could be down the road)

Havent you guys been following Matt Harrison since his trade to the Rangers? Dude is the WHITE VERSION of Horatio Ramirez. Dude cant stay healthy, gives up a lot of hits, high ERA, basically struggles to get through 5 innings, not a very high strikeout to walk ratio. Why would we miss a BUM like Harrison?

Meanwhile, nice dealing by Vazquez. Way to get those 2 strikeouts to end the threat.

What continues to baffle me is that some of you guys RIP Bobby for doing what I see as the right thing (like not having Prado bunt in the top of the 3rd). Yet some of you TOTALLY support Bobby using “his guys” in certain situations, when it is obvious that they cant be depended on to deliver.

Kind of Ironic isnt it………I seem to be in the “minority” when it comes to the times I support Bobby……..and also in the “minority” when it comes to when I RIP Bobby.

Also its funny how the hatred for Yunel has died down. Told you he was money!
