Well, we have to remain optimistic. Hell, I do to maintain my sanity. On rare occasions when I feel like being a negative Nelly, I try my best to not post, even though sometimes I let some negative comments slip every now and then.
If we win tonight, will that change your bleak outlook? If we win the series, will that change your outlook, or if we rattle off a streak like Philly just did, would that still change your outlook?
Smile, man, it’s baseball. This isn’t a college calculus blog.
It’s hard to skip posts from someone when they have a post every other one. But, I’m doing it because I can’t stand when someone is posting just to “hear” themself “talk”.
Capt Caveman……….well, if your “vast” experience has given you “an edge” over me, then you will be proven right by the end of the season………RIGHT?
If I’m such a “tool” as you say I am…….then I will be TOTALLY wrong when it comes to Greg Norton continuing to SUCK…….I’ll be wrong about Kelly Johnson continuing to SUCK………I’ll be wrong about Peter Moylan, Jeff Bennett, and Buddy Carlyle continuing to SUCK…….and I’ll be wrong about the Braves being out of it by mid-August…………RIGHT?
If you are right and I am wrong………..then the team record and the stats of those guys I called BUMS…….will show that I am wrong at the end of the year.
Capt, i just asked a direct question and got a direct answer. not a lot of room for finding out at what point they might have had interest and lost.
those were a pair of well-placed 94 mph fastballs that Vazquez just made Fielder look human on, and leave Braun at third…..and of course, the hitting machine singles to lead off the next inning.
Heath
idk those are the only 2 sites i could watch games on…. somthing about the MLB has changed a code or somthing is preventing games from being shown now….. so i gotta use Gameday
Someone posted a ustream link the other day, with a password, but I can not find anything on there… Ustream worked the day the the other two stopped working.
Paul , first off I wasn’t commenting on who sucks and who doesn’t. I was referring to your constant ongoing saga against Bobby’s managing.
As for players, the stats speak for themselves, and that’s where I will leave it. As for managing their are so many things that go into it that you would never know. Like who is healthy and who is not, which players are sick or under the weather, which starter is pitching thru pain, etc.etc. These are things that are kept private in the clubhouse so don’t act like you are making your predictions with 100 percent of the facts. Only the Braves have that info.
I have yet to this day known any “fantasy league fanatic” who actually knew a lot about the way “real” baseball is played or managed.
Now you’ve said your peace on this subject ( and just about everything else ) so find another topic or shuttit !!!! A’ight ?
Necromancer…………a team can overcome some bad managerial moves (particularly in blowouts where the offense is putting up a bunch of runs and the starting pitching is going deep enough to make the bullpen irrelevant).
However, the Braves arent going to win every game 9-2. Our offense will eventually fall down to earth and we will HAVE to win games like we should have won yesterday IF the Braves are going to make a run to the play-offs. In close ball games is where a manager pulling the RIGHT BUTTONS is essential. Bad managing can kill a team’s momentum.
If the Braves are still in this by mid-August, I’ll re-evaluate my prognosis. Again, I hope that I am wrong.
Face it, your just a frustrated fantasy league player with an overblown ego and the ability to type like a girl. Other than that you basically serve no purpose here except for comic relief.Capt Caveman

Paul Lentz — I liked this part of the Bowman article in particular.
Who is that Wise guy? If I’ve told this story before, I apologize. But with his tremendous catch to preserve Mark Buehrle’s perfect game on Thursday afternoon, Dewayne Wise produced the reminder of the first day that I saw him during Spring Training in 2004.
As we were standing in the middle of the clubhouse just shooting the breeze with Cox, Wise, a non-roster invitee who had previously been in the Blue Jays system, approached his new manager to introduce himself.
And staying true to his ability to make all of his players feel like they’re wanted and important, Cox responded with a firm handshake, a smile and, “Hey I’ve heard a lot about you, it’s great to have you here.”
Then as Wise walked away, Cox asked, “Who was that?”
I saw on Mlb trade rumors it was thought that maybe Holliday could be resigned…I don’t see this happening at all. BorASS wouldn’t let it go down that why
