“I hate dislike the fans that insist on giving minute-by-minute update’s on Francoeur’s at-bats, meals, hobbies and defensive mishaps. I don’t care how badly he’s sucking in New York. I don’t care what he did today. I don’t care what he did yesterday. I don’t care what he does tomorrow. I. Don’t. Care. … Steve from OH
Man, even a part-time blogger like me can figure out who the number 1 culprit on that subject is.
July 26th, 200912:33 am
birddawgbill – I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend anyone.
Steve – yeah dislike….I don’t “hate” anyone, internet hate is different than like, real life hate. So if I ever say I hate something on here, that’s not the same as like real hate.
July 26th, 200912:34 am
Steve likes to live on the wild side… and he leaves when he wants to.
Thanks, Shamus Thacker. I believe I just said what most of us feel, right?
A-Bomb how come you think the Braves are so aggressive. I havent checked it but I would hazard a guess that their K/BB ratio is one of the best in the league. By the end of the year they have a chance to have four hitters(McCann,Chipper,Yunel,Prado) with more BBs than Ks. Thats just nearly unheard of in todays game. And that screams patientce
July 26th, 200912:38 am
RHR thats cool, and let me say it takes a real man to appoligize especially on a blog. You didnt have to and that says alot about what a good person you are!
Ahh lets blame the manager when the offense is shut out. What exactly could Cox have done better to make them score runs tonight? Seriously tell us.
If you want to get on Cox/Wren about having Norton on the team, that’s a fair critique. Maybe why Cox used three position players to pinch run in a game during the Colorado series, that’s a good one to discuss as well. Lord knows there are many times I’m amazed at Cox’s decision making, but not when the team is shut out.
July 26th, 200912:41 am
AMEN to that fastasballs!
July 26th, 200912:42 am
birddawg – I’m not a fan of generalizations and off color comments and try to be very mindful of what I say at all times…just had one of my ultra-rare moments of stupidity there (ha!). And umm….I’m not a man.
July 26th, 200912:43 am
RG, Just curious are you from Rome? If its none of my business just tell me to get lost.
July 26th, 200912:45 am
Now I,m embarrassed. I actually thought about that but went ahead like a dummy. I’m very sorry. Then let me say you are a truly a GRAND LADY!
July 26th, 200912:46 am
As in, was I born in Rome?
July 26th, 200912:49 am
Is anyone on here from northwest Ga.? I would like to put together a fantasy football league with fairly local folks.
July 26th, 200912:51 am
Yeah, or live there now. The reason I’m asking is you are well informed on the farm teams.
July 26th, 200912:56 am
And umm….I’m not a man … RHR
birddawgbill, at least that’s what she/he keeps telling us. We have been giving her/him the benefit of the doubt. However, she/he has yet to offer any of us proof.
Can someone please tell me how to update to new comments without having to go back a page and then forward again? I’m a fairly new blogger and really kind of dumb to it all.

July 26th, 200912:57 am
birddawgbill. . . I know early on we were near the top of MLB teams in fewest pitches per at bat….
Anyone have the updated stats?
We’re probably better now, but I still say many of our guys still get themselves out. I don’t know how many rollover 4-3 putouts we’ve hit into, but if we don’t lead MLB in that putout alone I would be shocked.
I wasn’t born there, I don’t live there. I stay there sometimes…for a few months…and learn about the world…among other things.

RG, So new that if I was a baby my butt would still be sore from the docter spanking it. I have to ask my wife what a lot of the initials mean.lol
birddawgbill, click on the 2 arrows (refresh) near the top of your page. One is going downward and the other is upward (forming a continuim). However, when the blog activity is slow, sometimes you have to be patient.
I’m pretty sure when I first started posting here and was talking about my roommate from Spain, some folks thought I was Italian.
July 26th, 20091:09 am
Uh … make that a continuum
You mean, the acronyms? Like “LOL” or “ROFL”?
July 26th, 20091:13 am
I haven’t been around while you have in a while, but thank you for my birthday wishes from Tom!

July 26th, 20091:16 am
I used to get the Atlanta paper everyday since I was 12 years old and just all of the sudden they quit delivering this far north. So I was forced to get that joke of a paper from Chattanooga. But it was so bad I just finally quit and started going to the ajc online. But I’m a smoker and I dont smoke in the house so it took me a while to find the blogs and now I think I’m addicted.

Roman Gal, I’ll relay your thanks. I never did tell him I was a day late. With everybody taking vacations now, the rest of us are getting plenty of overtime. I’ve been too tired to even read the blog, much less participate.
RHR, I read enough. Believe me, I know you’re all woman! (and probably then some!)
July 26th, 20091:22 am
RG, yeah, What is rofl? I never claimed to be smart. Actually my son that has Aspergers has shown me alot of what I know. He doesnt do well with other children but hes alot like Mr. Monk on t.v. We were told his IQ was off the charts.

Rolling on the floor laughing. If you want to know, all you have to do is type it into google. You know what “Google” is, right?
July 26th, 20091:29 am
That’s what McCann wears right?
July 26th, 20091:30 am
birddawgbill, I understand. I used to smoke also. I gave it up a few years ago. So far, so good. I don’t have to tell you that being addicted to the blog is a lot more healthy than cigarettes, right? At least, I think so. You know, a laptop would let you receive the internet while you were outside. The best of both worlds? Maybe, you shouldn’t give your wife my name or address.
July 26th, 20091:32 am
jump the shark. pretty close.
July 26th, 20091:35 am
RG, yeah I know what google is. I’m not new to the computer I just never used it talk. I mainly used it for fantasy ball of some kind, and researching the old west I love that stuff. I’m a relative of John Wesley Hardin.

birdawgbill, all of these initials were born from text messaging. If you can type, you really don’t have to use any of these when you have a keyboard. However, to understand them, requires a dictionary. There are several online dictionaries for text messaging. Here’s one: (scroll past the numbers)

Well ladies and gentlemen I gotta go watch the mlb networks highlights and then off to bed talk to yall later. God bless and goodnight.
July 26th, 20091:46 am
birdawgbill, “John Wesley Hardin”, is a relative? Wow! A friend of mine did his college thesis on the “brutal wild west”. Your relative was his “main man”. Didn’t he kill over 40 people? If I remember right, and this may be greatly exaggerated, didn’t he shoot a guy for snoring too loud?
Who uses some of these acronyms?
WAMBAM – Web Application Meets Brick And Mortar
July 26th, 20091:47 am
The A Bomb, that’s good news. Thanks.
July 26th, 20091:52 am
Also good news — Dodgers just began a stretch where they’re playing 20 games in 20 days — including 7 with Atlanta. . . Their pitching situation should be interesting by the time we face them in L.A. in a couple of weeks.
July 26th, 20091:59 am
Bear, yeah he shot over 40 men. He really didnt mean to shoot the guy snoring. He assumed the guys bed was in the same spot as his in the hotel and shot at the oppisite end of his bed but thats where the guys bed was. He was just trying to wake him up. Did you know Wild Bill Hickock backed down from him and they became friends. Over 30 of his kills were in straight up gun fights. The most confirmed straight up duel kills besides his was 11 by Wild Bill. If you like to read he wrote a book called the life of John Wesley Hardin as written by John Wesley Hardin its a great book but you have to understand according to him all his kills were justified. So its a little biased.
July 26th, 20092:00 am
You see there Bear you sucked me back in.lol.
The Bird and Indian
July 26th, 20092:02 am
Roman Gal: Why did you have to make fun of the new guy?
The A Bomb, I’ve got to say, as well as the Braves have been playing, I think they can beat anybody right now. However, I’ll take any edge we can get. If we throw the ball around as we did against the Giants, late in that 4th game, we can also lose to anybody.
July 26th, 20092:05 am
The addition of Matt Holliday ensures that the Cardinals will look to move Troy Glaus. The Giants, Braves, Rangers and Tigers are expected to show interest in the former AL homerun champ. : MLB Trade rumors
With 7 against the Dodgers, we need every edge we can against them. They are on fire and just find a way to win every night it seems. Tonight a bloop single by Blake with the bases loaded. Everything is finding a hole.
But they head out to St. Louis before coming to us next weekend. Then home to Milwaukee and then us again. Tough stretch to say the least.
July 26th, 20092:08 am
Sorry, buddy. Go to sleep. We can get into this at another time. I find this stuff very interesting. However, I did find a quote of his. “They tell lots of lies about me,” he complained. “They say I killed six or seven men for snoring. Well, it ain’t true, I only killed one man for snoring.” … I only hope his offspring have mellowed out a bit.
July 26th, 20092:12 am
Bear I’m very mellow.
I just saw the braves arent the only one Gallardo gives fits. He has a 0.75 era versus the NL east. Thats awesome.
July 26th, 20092:16 am
actually the blog is losing its allure.
braveheart does a drive by every now and then. bay area steve is to infrequent. bubdylan is in distress. chrisklob has not been around in a year. bravesdave did not even check in when francoeur got traded.
flange does not post at night. at least he is GEORGIA.
the overnight crew has dried up.
Bear did you know he served 18 years in prison and was released for being a model prisoner 7 years early of a 25 year sentence. And while he was in prison he got his law degree. Those time life books kinda leave that out.
The A Bomb, with all of the pitching that the Dodgers lost from last year, both starting and relief, I figured they’d have to produce an offense similar to the Phillies, in order to be in the hunt. Who knew that their pitching would be this good? Then they lose Manny, for 50 games, and then don’t lose a step with Pierre taking his place. I thought the Cubs had the best team on paper. So did many. There’s no doubt that, so far this season, the Dodgers are the best in the NL.

hearing rumors that danys baez could be headed to atlanta.
birddawgbill, you really should get some sleep. You’re making me feel guilty for keeping you up. I have to call my buddy tomorrow and tell him that I’m actually conversing with a relative of JWH. He’ll go ape. After he did his thesis, all he wanted to do was learn more about the “Old West”. He actually bought land in Arizona. He plans on building a house there, soon. That’s where he’s planning on retiring. I asked him if the heat bothers him. He said, “no, it’s a dry heat”. I said, “so’s my oven, but I don’t plan on living there”. He didn’t see the humor.
July 26th, 20092:29 am

But I want bore everyone with the old west aas they came to talk ball. sorry about getting off subject everyone.
Did anyone see what that kid in KC did tonight. He set th team record for Ks. If they can get any hitting they could be dangerous next year.
who is joan baez? never heard of her.

I hate to correct someone that is on the same page as I am, but if you’re quoting scoots, it’s “doo doo”.
That little phrase was my creation. Scoots just uses it in respect. s’truth. get it right guys or you are gonna hurt my feelings
Shamus: Oh no! Please don’t be Lentz.
July 26th, 20092:40 am
Shamus Thacker, goodnight man. Oh, don’t have nightmares. I seriously doubt if anyone will ever confuse you with the Dentz-Lentz man.
i only steal women’s underwear.
July 26th, 20092:41 am
Shamus noone will ever be another Lentz. I actually thought he would be on here all night since the Braves lost telling everyone how right he was and how he knows more than anyone who works for the Braves.
July 26th, 20092:42 am
braves should sign wladimir balentien to a minor league contract.

nolie, I’m sorry. I read the blog from time to time, but don’t participate too often. I knew a correction was in order, but didn’t have the time to research the origin. I thought I knew it though. Please forgive me. I’m a friend of Tom O’Hawke’s, if that helps. (He always says great things about you)
July 26th, 20092:47 am
nolie, I think she saw through that scam. I figured it was worth a shot though.
July 26th, 20092:51 am
If Carlyle comes back who goes out. The braves have alot of decesions to make with everyone thats due back soon. Maybe they dont need to make a move with Hudson, Carlyle,Infante coming back. Thats like three really good trades if they all come back healthy. Well make that two I’ll reserve judgement on Carlyle. So I still say go get Qualls. Baez I dont know about hes benn here before and I’ve never been impressed by him.
July 26th, 20092:52 am
I wasn’t mad Bear, just fussin’ for fun. I agree that RHR is prolly too smart to fall 4 it, but you never know till you try huh?
July 26th, 20092:56 am
I’m hearing Baez and Glaus is who we are searching for. I guess Glaus plays first if we got him.
July 26th, 20092:57 am
Shamus noone will ever be another Lentz. I actually thought he would be on here all night since the Braves lost telling everyone how right he was and how he knows more than anyone who works for the Braves
When you type from the time you get out of bed, until the time you get back into it, with nothing more than a few minutes for nourishment, day after day, something has to give. Let’s be fair. There isn’t a man among us that could keep up that pace. Nor would any of us want to, but that’s another story for another time. Right now we should be rejoiceful that the idiot has finally tired.
qualls is a far better pitcher than baez but it would cost a lot to get qualls. arizona is said to have a steep price tag on qualls.
i don’t think we will see hudson pitching in atlanta until september unless injuries hit.
carlyle may replace medlen. medlen has done ok enough but i think he would be better off pitching on a normal schedule at gwinnett for now.
July 26th, 20092:58 am
i think bennett will go to gwinnett when he comes off the dl. not a spot for him unless someone gets hurt and honestly he should’ve been on his way out before he broke his left hand.
July 26th, 20092:59 am
Bear: You didn’t know? Paul doesn’t have a job. He is an online poker player. No seriously search him on Google with poker behind his name.

I wasn’t mad Bear, just fussin’ for fun
Don’t worry, nolie, I read the blog, quite a bit. I just don’t participate too often. Tom O is always telling me to. He says “stop being so shy, (expletive)”. Anyway, I know you’re only kidding around, just as I am. I know it would really take an awful lot to piss you off. I seriously doubt that I would have that in me, even by mistake.
July 26th, 20093:11 am
m hearing Baez and Glaus is who we are searching for.(Bird/Indian)
I just do not see how they are gonna afford Glaus. I do hope they are at least asking “Zona what it would take to get Qualls who is one of the more reliable relievers over time unlike most.
July 26th, 20093:14 am
i’d be willing to bet this stack of stolen undies that the braves won’t get qualls. arizona wants too much.
July 26th, 20093:25 am

Bear: You didn’t know? Paul doesn’t have a job. He is an online poker player. No seriously search him on Google with poker behind his name. …. The Bird and Indian
I know you’re not serious with the 2nd statement. I believe your first one is a fictitious as the other. OK, all kidding aside, for a split-second anyway, the Braves could use a solid relief pitcher. They have used Moylan (still not 100%) and Gonzalez too much. Another link to Soriano from the starters would be nice.
Any “power bat”, I’m afraid would cost more than the Braves can/will afford.
July 26th, 20093:28 am
The Bird and Indian
You seem to know that Paul Lentz character pretty well. Do you think if he makes a big poker score, he’ll buy them a big bat?
July 26th, 20093:29 am
The other day Paul said he was from Cal. Are you sure hes the poker player or the cop that was charged with trying to kill his girlfriend. Not trying to start nothing just wondering. The cop was from Cal.
July 26th, 20093:40 am
“The other day Paul said he was from Cal. Are you sure hes the poker player or the cop that was charged with trying to kill his girlfriend. Not trying to start nothing just wondering. The cop was from Cal”
birddawgbill, 1st of all, you’re gonna hate me in the morning, aren’t you? 2nd, some time you have to explain that moniker, or at least a hint. That is unique. 3rd, I doubt Paul has a girlfriend. If he did, he surely wouldn’t kill her. What’s his odds on getting another. I base that on, what girl would want to be a friend to someone that doesn’t do anything all day except post on a blog? And 4th, chances are, whenever this woman was killed, as long as it wasn’t in Dentz’s house or very close, he has an alibi. There are hundreds of us that will, painfully, testify that he’s been right here, boring the living crap out of us. He’s innocent, an a–hole, but innocent.
