A-Bomb how come you think the Braves are so aggressive. I havent checked it but I would hazard a guess that their K/BB ratio is one of the best in the league. By the end of the year they have a chance to have four hitters(McCann,Chipper,Yunel,Prado) with more BBs than Ks. Thats just nearly unheard of in todays game. And that screams patientce

Ahh lets blame the manager when the offense is shut out. What exactly could Cox have done better to make them score runs tonight? Seriously tell us.
If you want to get on Cox/Wren about having Norton on the team, that’s a fair critique. Maybe why Cox used three position players to pinch run in a game during the Colorado series, that’s a good one to discuss as well. Lord knows there are many times I’m amazed at Cox’s decision making, but not when the team is shut out.

birddawgbill. . . I know early on we were near the top of MLB teams in fewest pitches per at bat….
Anyone have the updated stats?
We’re probably better now, but I still say many of our guys still get themselves out. I don’t know how many rollover 4-3 putouts we’ve hit into, but if we don’t lead MLB in that putout alone I would be shocked.

I used to get the Atlanta paper everyday since I was 12 years old and just all of the sudden they quit delivering this far north. So I was forced to get that joke of a paper from Chattanooga. But it was so bad I just finally quit and started going to the ajc online. But I’m a smoker and I dont smoke in the house so it took me a while to find the blogs and now I think I’m addicted.

birddawgbill, I understand. I used to smoke also. I gave it up a few years ago. So far, so good. I don’t have to tell you that being addicted to the blog is a lot more healthy than cigarettes, right? At least, I think so. You know, a laptop would let you receive the internet while you were outside. The best of both worlds? Maybe, you shouldn’t give your wife my name or address.

birdawgbill, all of these initials were born from text messaging. If you can type, you really don’t have to use any of these when you have a keyboard. However, to understand them, requires a dictionary. There are several online dictionaries for text messaging. Here’s one: (scroll past the numbers)

Also good news — Dodgers just began a stretch where they’re playing 20 games in 20 days — including 7 with Atlanta. . . Their pitching situation should be interesting by the time we face them in L.A. in a couple of weeks.

Bear, yeah he shot over 40 men. He really didnt mean to shoot the guy snoring. He assumed the guys bed was in the same spot as his in the hotel and shot at the oppisite end of his bed but thats where the guys bed was. He was just trying to wake him up. Did you know Wild Bill Hickock backed down from him and they became friends. Over 30 of his kills were in straight up gun fights. The most confirmed straight up duel kills besides his was 11 by Wild Bill. If you like to read he wrote a book called the life of John Wesley Hardin as written by John Wesley Hardin its a great book but you have to understand according to him all his kills were justified. So its a little biased.

With 7 against the Dodgers, we need every edge we can against them. They are on fire and just find a way to win every night it seems. Tonight a bloop single by Blake with the bases loaded. Everything is finding a hole.
But they head out to St. Louis before coming to us next weekend. Then home to Milwaukee and then us again. Tough stretch to say the least.

Bear did you know he served 18 years in prison and was released for being a model prisoner 7 years early of a 25 year sentence. And while he was in prison he got his law degree. Those time life books kinda leave that out.

The A Bomb, with all of the pitching that the Dodgers lost from last year, both starting and relief, I figured they’d have to produce an offense similar to the Phillies, in order to be in the hunt. Who knew that their pitching would be this good? Then they lose Manny, for 50 games, and then don’t lose a step with Pierre taking his place. I thought the Cubs had the best team on paper. So did many. There’s no doubt that, so far this season, the Dodgers are the best in the NL.

birddawgbill, you really should get some sleep. You’re making me feel guilty for keeping you up. I have to call my buddy tomorrow and tell him that I’m actually conversing with a relative of JWH. He’ll go ape. After he did his thesis, all he wanted to do was learn more about the “Old West”. He actually bought land in Arizona. He plans on building a house there, soon. That’s where he’s planning on retiring. I asked him if the heat bothers him. He said, “no, it’s a dry heat”. I said, “so’s my oven, but I don’t plan on living there”. He didn’t see the humor.

I have 3 ruptued disks in my back and a docter that dont believe in pain meds. and my heart doc. want allow them to do surgery so I dont slep but a couple of hours a night. If Carlyle comes back who goes out. The braves have alot of decesions to make with everyone thats due back soon. Maybe they dont need to make a move with Hudson, Carlyle,Infante coming back. Thats like three really good trades if they all come back healthy. Well make that two I’ll reserve judgement on Carlyle. So I still say go get Qualls. Baez I dont know about hes benn here before and I’ve never been impressed by him.

qualls is a far better pitcher than baez but it would cost a lot to get qualls. arizona is said to have a steep price tag on qualls.
i don’t think we will see hudson pitching in atlanta until september unless injuries hit.
carlyle may replace medlen. medlen has done ok enough but i think he would be better off pitching on a normal schedule at gwinnett for now.

I know you’re not serious with the 2nd statement. I believe your first one is a fictitious as the other. OK, all kidding aside, for a split-second anyway, the Braves could use a solid relief pitcher. They have used Moylan (still not 100%) and Gonzalez too much. Another link to Soriano from the starters would be nice.
Any “power bat”, I’m afraid would cost more than the Braves can/will afford.

birddawgbill, 1st of all, you’re gonna hate me in the morning, aren’t you? 2nd, some time you have to explain that moniker, or at least a hint. That is unique. 3rd, I doubt Paul has a girlfriend. If he did, he surely wouldn’t kill her. What’s his odds on getting another. I base that on, what girl would want to be a friend to someone that doesn’t do anything all day except post on a blog? And 4th, chances are, whenever this woman was killed, as long as it wasn’t in Dentz’s house or very close, he has an alibi. There are hundreds of us that will, painfully, testify that he’s been right here, boring the living crap out of us. He’s innocent, an a–hole, but innocent.
