Ahhh McLouth of the South beat me to it….funnier too
Wayne in Utah
Somebody (shrink, I think) made a statement last night that I was Paul. So, I went along. When he didn’t return for a while, I truly was hoping that I was a skitzo and maybe I WAS Paul. So, I thought if I repressed the desire to be Paul, he would go away. It seemed to be working for a long time…..but alas, even I couldn’t write that much BS. Maybe Braveheart or N8 could write that much, but it ain’t in me, I guess.
It was fun while it lasted.
(now, I hope he doesn’t think this means I will actually read any of his bull, because it doesn’t and I won’t.)
July 24th, 20094:19 pm
You have to prove that you’re Paul. Do you know how to spell Moron
July 24th, 20094:20 pm
WITHOUT QUESTION, the Braves should place Norton on waivers, and claim Kotsay!!! With right-handed hitting O.Infante due back very soon, Norton is less important. But frankly, he’s not important anyway given that he can’t hit the broad side of Sam’s Club this year.
Paul Lentz…you have no idea what moves will be made. Some of these guys have to pitch, whether you like it or not. They can’t get rid of all of them. And another thing that’s bugging me about you, you keep bringing up Hampton as a goo non sign by Wren. FW offered Hampton more money than the Astros did. He chose to play in Houston to be closer to his family. So please stop saying you were defending FW’s decision not to resign Hampton. Braves would have been better off with Hampton than KK. They could have used the extra money for a bat.
Piedmont Blues (ex-BFIR)
Thanks, Steve (and Efrim). I understand the trade from the Cards’ perspective. They’re tied for first, want to keep Albert Pujols happy, and think Holliday is the last piece they need to make a run in the postseason — even if you lose him in two months. If the Braves were in the same spot in the standings, they might make that deal. If you’re 6.5 games out, however, and your system has already been depleted, I think not.
July 24th, 20094:21 pm

Maybe Paul Lentz is one of DOB’s aliases on here
Steve from OH
July 24th, 20094:23 pm
No prob, Piedmont. Not sure how highly regarded Cordier or Lyman are, but IMO they could be useful as relievers down the road…
Another Heyward v. Stanton piece:
To me, this is like the Braves trading Freddie Freeman, Cole Rohrbough and whoever, for 2 months of Matt Holliday.
Oops, that was Efrim’s statement, LOL! Here’s the Heyward v. Stanton piece:
July 24th, 20094:24 pm
He did throw the man a compliment later last night…..kinda like throwing gas on a flame.
McLouth of the South
Wayne he just called you a Moron. Kick his azz! Fight on the blog!
Great new blogage C-Rod. Thank you
The Bird and Indian

I used to actually read most of Paul’s posts. I just don’t have the time anymore. I’m scrolling down and then see a 10 paragraph post and automatically know it’s Paul the poker player without looking.
Chop Chop, I’m getting a headache translating,lol.
July 24th, 20094:26 pm
Comparing Kelly to Rollins is a huge stretch. This KJ thing depending on how it plays out will make or break BC in the eyes of many. If KJ is allowed to start ever in place of Prado(Prado goes 3 games without a hit) and hits for one week like gangbusters and gets his starting job back, then goes into his “death roll” the fans will have BC’s head! Then again if he hits like gangbusters the rest of the season he’ll be proclaimed best coach ever, I suppose. My money is on Prado.
Exactly right UNCBrave. I have been ranting about this since yesterday morning. In a career full of head-scratching or even moranic decisions, sending Brooks Conrad back down to get KJ back to Atlanta is possibly the worst. In the middle of the best run in about 3 years that Conrad helped ignite? I love the Braves but Bobby Cox is hard to stomach.
jeffrey d……….I meant to say “cog” instead of clog. It was a typo.
Damn, lol, you guys are really something with correcting my typos, lol. I’ve seen some TERRIBLE spelling by other posters, I mean some REALLY TERRIBLE postings. Yet very few postings when it comes to correcting them, lol.
I write a “novel” (as some of you say)…..yet you guys can pick up on “one typo”, lol.
Hey, no biggie, lol. I have no problem with you guys pointing it out. All it does is motivate me to make sure that I eliminate typos from future postings. After all, if I want you guys to read my postings, then you guys have every right to “demand” that I make postings that arent filled with typos (just like I have a right to “demand” that the Braves make better decisions then they did yesterday when it came to keeping Greg Norton over Brooks Conrad).
I appreciate you guys keeping me on my toes with pointing out the typos. If it improves the quality of my postings, I’m all for it.
I am not sure if the Cards needed somebody to protect Pujols bad enough to give up a “Freeman plus” package??? Just seems to be a stiff price.
WTG Billy Beane! Nice job.
Train Wreck Bystander
July 24th, 20094:27 pm
September call-ups just around the corner, and you guys are dreaming about paring down the roster. It will soon be stuffed to the gills with all your favorite AAA & AAAA players.
IOW, we could have both Norton & Kotsay.
Lentz…do you have brain damage??
July 24th, 20094:29 pm
Kinda like beating your forehead against a brick wall, it would be. I think I’ll pass.
Sweet Baby Jeebus…PLEASE…do NOT let Kelly Johnson be in the starting lineup tonight….there could well be one of them nucular meltdowns around here if… “Mr Mojo” …gets the starting nod….tia
I went to visit my mom in the nursing home and in the corner was a little old lady muttering “morons…morons” and typing rapidly on an old laptop. I think I found Paul!

Your doing what I tried doing a few weeks back. Reason with an a-hole. You will only be frustrated in the end, my friend.
If you just disregard a pest, it will eventually go away. Kinda like a worrysome fly on a hot summer day.
And Brooks Conrad too! And Wes Timmons and Van Pope! OMG we’d have the grittiest white guy no-skill team ever!
That article was very complimentary to Heyward, nice read.
Paul – I usually let typos slide. But not when they make something hilarious.
Like Jimmy Rollins and his clogs. Or Chipper and Yunel making bread in the doughout. Or the classic but possibly overquoted your and idiot
July 24th, 20094:32 pm
Monty, KJ has never hit like gangbusters for more than a three-week stretch in his career. His average has been steadily going down the last two years, obviously since NL pitchers have him figured him out. One of the anouncers said Bobby wanted him instead of Conrad for his experience. Oh, he’s experienced all right – in dropping routine fly balls and muffing grounders.
njbraves……….cant you read the writing on the wall? Given what has happened recently with Bobby getting 2 of “his boys” (Kelly Johnson and Greg Norton) back……..what makes you think that Jeff Bennett and Buddy Carlyle (2 more of “Bobby’s boys”) wont be joining another of “his boys” (Peter Moylan) back in the bullpen soon? They will form a “lethal” 3some. However, instead of being “lethal” to the other team…….they will be “lethal” to our chances to win games.
You really dont get it, do you? If Frank Wren wasnt intent on allowing Bobby to get “his boys” back, then there is NO FREAKING WAY that Greg “Mr. 5 for 46″ would be on the roster right now. There is no way that Kelly Johnson would be on the roster either (because you know that Bobby will make sure that Kelly gets some at-bats to “get him going”).
So the ship has already sailed on this season. You can bank on it.
In my euphoria I forgot Reid Gorecki and Matt Young…can’t wait for the infusion of grittiness this team needs!
I don’t think you will see KJ starting until Chipper takes a day off.
July 24th, 20094:34 pm
“If it improves the quality of my postings, Im all for it.”
Only way this happens is if your house burns down with your computer in it
I write a “novel” (as some of you say)…..yet you guys can pick up on “one typo”, lol Paul Lentz
It’s getting beyond the point of a novel. It’s more like the Harry Potter series.
It is easy to butcher someones name when they are irrelevant to the team and gets little press time, but you should probably ask someone who knows about the guy, like Paul, who knows all, before you totally trash him. Though I doubt anyone really noticed the mis-spelling.
July 24th, 20094:35 pm
Steve, but to make that gritty white guy team complete, we would need:
Wait for it
Let’s go get him and make Wayne happy!
What a team!
I Have not heard anything of maybe puttin kk in the bullpen and when Huddy is ready make him the 5th stater
“You really dont get it, do you?”
Pot, meet kettle…
I got a fever! And the only prescription is… tonight’s lineup.
July 24th, 20094:36 pm
Except that he’s re-issued the first book seven times instead of writing seven different ones…
What a buddy!!!
July 24th, 20094:37 pm
I hope you’re right…(but I’d add Kotchman to the possible day-off list also)
Does Brayan Pena have a Brayan Pena?
I heard it was MFIKY.
MFIKY, however, does not need no damn Brayan Pena.
Nova Scotia Steve
I love this time of the day…new blog…its Friday…big Braves game tonight…Vazquez on the mound….my co-worker is gone for the day and I ain’t doin sh*t all for the rest of the day….
Except blog about the Braves
No one compared Rollins to KJ. Stats were given that compared Rollins’ first half to KJ’s first half as a reminder to anyone who tries to use short term stats to determine a players potential. Using those stats, KJ actually had a better first half that Rollins
3.5 hours to game time…..
July 24th, 20094:38 pm
or we can ask Roman Gal-she seems very…intimate with him
And you go and one-up me….hahaha, perfect
Nova Steve – I’m right there with ya.
July 24th, 20094:39 pm
The Three Faces of Eve vs. The Two Faces of WayneFromUtah
I do think that is how Bobby will get him some AB’s. And the ocassionall double switch. Maybe even a rest of Prado once in a while, if KJ seems to be coming around.
Typed the same thing three times and forgot he just typed it…we will see it again in just a moment. Paul, apparently you thnink responses to your blog mean we really want to have conversations with you. Sorry for the inconvienance. We don’t.
I think Paul Lentz is an employee of AJC sent here to get hits on the old blog and it appears to be working. Keep it up guys, DOB is probably somewhere laughing.
July 24th, 20094:40 pm
It’s his twin brother Andruw Jones
Alabama Brave-I don’t really think that DOB has time to be himself and Paul Lentz. Honestly, I’m not sure how Paul Lentz has the time to be Paul Lentz. Cloning, perhaps? Split personality?
July 24th, 20094:41 pm
After all this pretending to be “he who must not be named”, I think I will reintroduce my alter ego, the famed “Proton”, who is always positive about the Braves!
Paul L., There is absolutely no need for you to repeat yourself so many times regarding how you feel about certain players/roster decisions. Anybody who reads this blog knows exactly how you feel about Francouer, Conrad, Bennett, Moylan, Carlyle, etc. Nobody else on this blog repeats themselves as frequently as you. Please, please, for the sake of everyone else on this blog, just state your opinion once and let it be! There is no need to post ad nauseum all day and night, especially because you aren’t going to convince others to share your opinion based on how many times you repeat yourself. In fact, people will respect you more if you take this advice.
July 24th, 20094:42 pm
Oh, and before I check out to do some work…Chop Chop, hilarious stuff.
I’m thinking .500 sounds about right.
Paul Lentz…who exactly do you want to pitch oit of the bullpen?? It can’t always be the same two guys.
I’m hearing the starting lineup is:
1. K Johnson 2B
2. G Norman 1B
3. K Johnson SS
4. G Norman 3B
5. K Johnson CF
6. G Norman LF
7. K Johnson RF
8. B Pocoroba C
9. P Moylan P (Given a rare staring nod)
July 24th, 20094:43 pm
cabravesfan – seem to be a bit obsessed with RG’s guy- must be something there in your subconscious.
Wayne in Utah….You’re right. I just can’t stand this moron.
Wayne in Utah!
“3.5 hours until game time”
Atta boy…Glad to see your on top of things…
July 24th, 20094:44 pm
I think all this Kotchman trade talk is hilarious. What contending team would want him? But if some GM is drunk enough to take him, I say go for it.
Think the Mets choke?
Wait’ll you see me, mate!
Go Wayne Go!
Chop Chop, these posts are great!
By the way, how does one become one of “Bobby’s Boys” (kind of sounds like gay porn, huh)
at least Greg Norman can still hit the ball
Wayne-That Proton move would probably result in the creation of N8 Neutron.
Dayum…I meant Norton….well….so much for that
July 24th, 20094:45 pm
Hi It’s not RG’s guy I’m interested in…she can have him
I see we’re convincing Greg Norman to leave golf and sign a contract with the Braves. Bold move, let’s see if it pays off.
The Braves have Greg Norman?
That’s an easy one for the organist. Just play the Jaws theme every time he strides toward home plate.
Joey……….Bobby wanted Kelly back because he is one of “his boys”. Bobby wasnt going to get rid of Greg Norton, so Conrad was the odd man out.
It’s “survival of the unfittest” time.
njbraves………..you asked “how can I predict what is going to happen”? When it comes to roster moves concerning “Bobby’s boys”…all I have to do is go back and look at what happened in the recent past with “Bobby’s boys”.
Ryan Langerhans, Pete Orr, Chris Woodward, Blaine Boyer, Micah McBride, Scott Thorman, Jeff Francoeur, Kelly Johnson, Greg Norton, Peter Moylan, Jeff Bennett, Buddy Carlyle, and Julio Franco (his last stay with the Braves). And these “examples” of “Bobby’s boys” are just from the past couple of years.
So knowing that the above “Bobby’s boys” got extensive playing time DESPITE showing how much they SUCK………..what makes you think that Frank Wren wont activate Jeff Bennett and Buddy Carlyle? What makes you think that Bobby wont continue to use Greg Norton as a pinch hitter and give Kelly Johnson at-bats at the expense of more productive players?
I am making my prediction based on an extensive track record when it comes to how Bobby has managed in the past. I just didnt make predictions based on a whim, lol.
Biff threw me off….on the whole thing !!
Paul Lentz – Do you think the Braves will make the playoffs this year? I can’t trust the opinions of any of the idiots who blog here.
Today’s blog has wore me out. Hope we win and everyone have a good one. 15% of the bloggers post 90% of the useful information
The Braves offense has been “HOT” lately, that is what has been carrying them. They will not stay that way the rest of the year. What the Braves need is consistantsy from the “Big” names: Chipper, McCann, McCloth. Those 3 guys must produce and produce consistantly for the Braves to do anything. Prado, Escobar, & Diaz will cool off eventually. Sending Conrad down made NO sense!
Or you could be “Protein” in honor of the mess on Peter Paul’s monitor…
July 24th, 20094:46 pm
Fact of the matter is, everyone ,not named Soriano, in the Braves bullpen is hit or miss. Not much we or they can do about it.
You’re on early…u still at work?
We don’t have Greg Norman anymore…..(sorry, couldn’t resist)
Always glad to be of service to the blog. (I could have said 3.5 hours of paging past PL posts before gametime)
July 24th, 20094:47 pm
You have an obsession with Kotch Dog.
Dude is what he is. Average. He’s below average offensively (for a first baseman), but well above average defensively. So we’ll call him average.
Luckily, he typically bats seventh or eighth and the Braves have a SS, 2B and C who are all WELL ABOVE AVERAGE offensively. Hopefully it evens things out a bit. It has lately anyway.
jeffrey d…………at least I try to put postings out there that I feel will help IMPROVE the Braves……….unlike a number of other posters who make postings PROMOTING playing time for the “favorite” players, despite the fact that they SUCK and that they DO NOT help the Braves win games.
I don’t think his name is Micah McBride, DA, at least look up his name if you keep using it.
July 24th, 20094:48 pm
Paul Lentz, I couldn’t agree more with your comments regarding “Bobby’s Boys” It always amazes me how he will take someone out of the lineup who is red-hot just to get some at bats for someone who is ice cold!
cabravesfan – you don’t look well – maybe you should go home!
Same Old Stuff

Paul Lentz – Do you think the Braves will make the playoffs this year? I can’t trust the opinions of any of the idiots who blog here.
YOUR an idiot…go blog somewhere else if ya don’t like it here!
July 24th, 20094:49 pm
Yes I am…not even 2:00 yet- and I get to sit in Friday traffic on the way home! Whoo Hoo!
(I’m usually on during the day- just haven’t been overly motivated today)
July 24th, 2009
jeffrey d…………at least I try to put postings out there that I feel will help IMPROVE the Braves……….
I hate to break this to you, but your posting have no affect on how the Braves perform
Paul, if the Braves make the post season will you agree to leave the blog for one year? That’s all Bobby and Frank are waiting for so they can put the real good players in the lineup.
Paul-Your posts will help the Braves? Finally got a hold of Wren, did we?
Ok..I gotta leave in a few minutes….SOMEBODY please….post the starting lineup….the suspense is killing me !!!… ( And….Greg Norman)
I must have been out of the office when everyone decided Kotchman was the worst 1B alive.
No surprise there…
I hope you all read the vent today – http://projects.ajc.com/vent/sports/braves/2009/07/24/
Prado at 1st…Conrad at 2nd…Kotchman on the bench. I know Bobby has forgot more baseball then I know but it seems so obvious.
Instead of platooning Diaz, move him in at 1b for Kotchman everyday.
It’s time to move Chipper to 1st. It opens a spot for Prado and Conrad to play everyday and moves Kotchman to his rightful spot sitting next to Norton on the bench.
July 24th, 20094:50 pm
I wish. Unfortunatly I have to be careful with my work time- I’m taking a few days off in August so I can’t bail too early today
I’m not convinced that we need Mark Kotsay, but I’m all for claiming Jamie Kotsay off waivers.
July 24th, 20094:51 pm
Paul Lentz…KJ has been back for one day and got a hit in his only AB. Yet, you have already decided that he will get 4 starts a week at 2nd. Give me a break. You’re a MORON . You are assuming what will happen. You rattle off the names of a bunch of so-so players and use them as your proof?? And who the hell is Micah McBride?? Get a name right if you’re going to use it. Yeah, Moylan is struggling now, but he has been pretty solid for most of his tenure with the Braves. You complain that he is overused, but you don’t want anyone else to pitch because you say they all stink. Who do younwant to pitch???
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
