Somebody (shrink, I think) made a statement last night that I was Paul. So, I went along. When he didn’t return for a while, I truly was hoping that I was a skitzo and maybe I WAS Paul. So, I thought if I repressed the desire to be Paul, he would go away. It seemed to be working for a long time…..but alas, even I couldn’t write that much BS. Maybe Braveheart or N8 could write that much, but it ain’t in me, I guess.

It was fun while it lasted.

(now, I hope he doesn’t think this means I will actually read any of his bull, because it doesn’t and I won’t.)

WITHOUT QUESTION, the Braves should place Norton on waivers, and claim Kotsay!!! With right-handed hitting O.Infante due back very soon, Norton is less important. But frankly, he’s not important anyway given that he can’t hit the broad side of Sam’s Club this year.

Paul Lentz…you have no idea what moves will be made. Some of these guys have to pitch, whether you like it or not. They can’t get rid of all of them. And another thing that’s bugging me about you, you keep bringing up Hampton as a goo non sign by Wren. FW offered Hampton more money than the Astros did. He chose to play in Houston to be closer to his family. So please stop saying you were defending FW’s decision not to resign Hampton. Braves would have been better off with Hampton than KK. They could have used the extra money for a bat.

Thanks, Steve (and Efrim). I understand the trade from the Cards’ perspective. They’re tied for first, want to keep Albert Pujols happy, and think Holliday is the last piece they need to make a run in the postseason — even if you lose him in two months. If the Braves were in the same spot in the standings, they might make that deal. If you’re 6.5 games out, however, and your system has already been depleted, I think not.

Comparing Kelly to Rollins is a huge stretch. This KJ thing depending on how it plays out will make or break BC in the eyes of many. If KJ is allowed to start ever in place of Prado(Prado goes 3 games without a hit) and hits for one week like gangbusters and gets his starting job back, then goes into his “death roll” the fans will have BC’s head! Then again if he hits like gangbusters the rest of the season he’ll be proclaimed best coach ever, I suppose. My money is on Prado.

Exactly right UNCBrave. I have been ranting about this since yesterday morning. In a career full of head-scratching or even moranic decisions, sending Brooks Conrad back down to get KJ back to Atlanta is possibly the worst. In the middle of the best run in about 3 years that Conrad helped ignite? I love the Braves but Bobby Cox is hard to stomach.

jeffrey d……….I meant to say “cog” instead of clog. It was a typo.

I write a “novel” (as some of you say)…..yet you guys can pick up on “one typo”, lol.

Hey, no biggie, lol. I have no problem with you guys pointing it out. All it does is motivate me to make sure that I eliminate typos from future postings. After all, if I want you guys to read my postings, then you guys have every right to “demand” that I make postings that arent filled with typos (just like I have a right to “demand” that the Braves make better decisions then they did yesterday when it came to keeping Greg Norton over Brooks Conrad).

I appreciate you guys keeping me on my toes with pointing out the typos. If it improves the quality of my postings, I’m all for it.

Monty, KJ has never hit like gangbusters for more than a three-week stretch in his career. His average has been steadily going down the last two years, obviously since NL pitchers have him figured him out. One of the anouncers said Bobby wanted him instead of Conrad for his experience. Oh, he’s experienced all right – in dropping routine fly balls and muffing grounders.

Paul Lentz

July 24th, 2009

njbraves……….cant you read the writing on the wall? Given what has happened recently with Bobby getting 2 of “his boys” (Kelly Johnson and Greg Norton) back……..what makes you think that Jeff Bennett and Buddy Carlyle (2 more of “Bobby’s boys”) wont be joining another of “his boys” (Peter Moylan) back in the bullpen soon? They will form a “lethal” 3some. However, instead of being “lethal” to the other team…….they will be “lethal” to our chances to win games.

You really dont get it, do you? If Frank Wren wasnt intent on allowing Bobby to get “his boys” back, then there is NO FREAKING WAY that Greg “Mr. 5 for 46″ would be on the roster right now. There is no way that Kelly Johnson would be on the roster either (because you know that Bobby will make sure that Kelly gets some at-bats to “get him going”).

So the ship has already sailed on this season. You can bank on it.

Anybody who reads this blog knows exactly how you feel about Francouer, Conrad, Bennett, Moylan, Carlyle, etc. Nobody else on this blog repeats themselves as frequently as you. Please, please, for the sake of everyone else on this blog, just state your opinion once and let it be! Joey……….Bobby wanted Kelly back because he is one of “his boys”. Bobby wasnt going to get rid of Greg Norton, so Conrad was the odd man out.

It’s “survival of the unfittest” time.

njbraves………..you asked “how can I predict what is going to happen”? When it comes to roster moves concerning “Bobby’s boys”…all I have to do is go back and look at what happened in the recent past with “Bobby’s boys”.

Ryan Langerhans, Pete Orr, Chris Woodward, Blaine Boyer, Micah McBride, Scott Thorman, Jeff Francoeur, Kelly Johnson, Greg Norton, Peter Moylan, Jeff Bennett, Buddy Carlyle, and Julio Franco (his last stay with the Braves). And these “examples” of “Bobby’s boys” are just from the past couple of years.

So knowing that the above “Bobby’s boys” got extensive playing time DESPITE showing how much they SUCK………..what makes you think that Frank Wren wont activate Jeff Bennett and Buddy Carlyle? What makes you think that Bobby wont continue to use Greg Norton as a pinch hitter and give Kelly Johnson at-bats at the expense of more productive players?

I am making my prediction based on an extensive track record when it comes to how Bobby has managed in the past. I just didnt make predictions based on a whim, lol.

Prado at 1st…Conrad at 2nd…Kotchman on the bench. I know Bobby has forgot more baseball then I know but it seems so obvious.

Instead of platooning Diaz, move him in at 1b for Kotchman everyday.

It’s time to move Chipper to 1st. It opens a spot for Prado and Conrad to play everyday and moves Kotchman to his rightful spot sitting next to Norton on the bench.
