Cards likely to dangle Glaus
The addition of left fielder Matt Holliday all but ensures that the Cardinals will attempt to trade Troy Glaus, who is on a rehabilitation assignment while recovering from surgery on his right shoulder.
The Giants, Braves, Rangers and Tigers are among the clubs expected to scout Glaus at Class AA Springfield this weekend, according to a major-league source.
Glaus, a third baseman who recently has played some left field on this assignment, no longer has a position with the Cardinals with Holliday in left, Mark DeRosa at third and Albert Pujols at first.
Let it be known, Bobby Cox finally made a good move by sticking with Javy! I would have yanked him out a couple innings ago.
Which brings me to my next point. Having a bunch of lamers in the bullpen is all on Cox. If Wren could just fill the pen with who he wanted.. (Without having to give Bobby “slots” for his boys.) This team would have better options.

would bobby dare to bring back javy for the eighth? how many pitches has he thrown so far? i almost would like to see him back for the eight instead of moylan…
Pinning the bullpen on Bobby is idiotic. Have you looked around either league? Leaky bullpens are everywhere. The talent is spread so thin across so many teams.
For the record, from a non-hater, Bobby’s achilles heel seems to be an inability to manufacture runs when needed & overreliance on fading veterans.
See now, that at bat right there is where “Big Game Javy” would of had his melt down. Braves playing meaningful games down the stretch this year. I think Vazquez is going to pitch a considerable amount better than he was last year for the Chi Sox…….can’t be too worse than he was, but still. Guy is absolutely more comfortable in ATL than he was playing for Ozzie.
It would certainly be great if we could somehow keep both Hudson AND Javy. Perhaps some team would consider Kawakami. If I was Frank Wren, I’d explore that before making a decision on Hudson or Vazquez. It’s not like Kenshin has been THAT bad. And it isn’t like his contract is awful. 14.6 million over the next two seasons.
Oh wow. this stuff of like trying hard to win. Getting ahead, falling back then fighting back. Did teh bravos take some sort of class over the ASB to learn hos to play with some heart>
McLouthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Nice RIP there. I told you McLouth naysayers to have faith in this guy. Needed insurance runs there. Still, with Moylan coming into the game…….it would be nice to get a few more insurance runs.
I have taken a week of Annual Leave in October should I make reservations at the Ptree Plaza? Or maybe the Claremont, maybe just stay with friends under the Techwood Viaduct
