“Hoe Sit Down!”
Vazquez 4 – Fielder 0
sick golden sombrero
Nice job, Javy. Nice job. Way to battle after the leadoff single.
Nova Scotia Steve
YYYYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS….I’m gone to the bathroom
MLB.com says 110 pitches.
Rough night for Prince
Wow Javy strikes out Fielder 4 times-wow!
golden sombrero for fielder. He’ll probably celebrate with some nachos in the dugout
….now 0-4 with 4Ks. THAT…was ACE stuff right there.
Steve from OH
Wow, Vaz reachin’ back for 95 there to get Prince. Nice.
golden sombrero? Go for platinum
Don’t trade Javy he’s a battler
Looks like Javy was going to throw what he wanted to no matter the sign.
Cards likely to dangle Glaus
The addition of left fielder Matt Holliday all but ensures that the Cardinals will attempt to trade Troy Glaus, who is on a rehabilitation assignment while recovering from surgery on his right shoulder.
The Giants, Braves, Rangers and Tigers are among the clubs expected to scout Glaus at Class AA Springfield this weekend, according to a major-league source.
Glaus, a third baseman who recently has played some left field on this assignment, no longer has a position with the Cardinals with Holliday in left, Mark DeRosa at third and Albert Pujols at first.
So their 3 and 4 hitters failed to get the runner in, where have I seen that before tonight?

4 Ks for Fielder … wow, great pitching Javy!!!
Braves pitchers for the rest of this series take note of that
Let it be known, Bobby Cox finally made a good move by sticking with Javy! I would have yanked him out a couple innings ago.
Which brings me to my next point. Having a bunch of lamers in the bullpen is all on Cox. If Wren could just fill the pen with who he wanted.. (Without having to give Bobby “slots” for his boys.) This team would have better options.
Can we squash this “trade Javy” rumor now?
Ok. So who pitches the 8th?
the hopes of the braves nation rest in your hands mr. hanson
would bobby dare to bring back javy for the eighth? how many pitches has he thrown so far? i almost would like to see him back for the eight instead of moylan…

Have a tofu dog Prince.
Yup, “hoe sit down” times 4 for Princey tonight.
Cards over Phillies 8-1 F
SF leads Colorado 3-0 Btm 6th
Houston edging the Mets 5-4 Top 8
Um…I’m borderline OK.
Greg Norman time
More Runs Please!!!
Can we please score 13 runs now?
Come on Norton. Earn your keep.
July 24th, 200910:49 pm
HOLY CRAP GREG NORTON GOT A HIT
Take tat Nawt’n haters!!!
All of the sudden frogs are falling from the sky.
Norton actually got a hit. Miracles do still happen
Javier Vazquez really stepped up in that 7th inning. He grinded out 7 innings, 110 pitches.
Meanwhile, Norton gets a hit. That hit will buy him another month of pinch hit at-bats.
Norton hit. Eat it Paul
The end is near. Going to confession, brb.
Norton is the key to the World series!
Turnberry was last week, dude…
Crap…Norton got a hit so the Braves will keep him another year
Norton for the HOF. Disable him now. Bring him up in August for his monthly hit.
July 24th, 200910:50 pm
LOL Go Norton! Prove BC right!
Half a Mendoza! Way to go Norton!
What was that? Did Norton really get a hit? No…..really?
My boy Nate.
Yeah! There We Go Nate-Dawg!!!
that was much needed
well that makes me feel a whole lot better…
Yay, Natey Nate! Insurance!
Hell teah! Go Nate!!!
there we go norton!
He’s had good swings all night.
Outta here-watch Norton round the bases too-so graceful!
That was Huge!!!
Thank You Nate.
Somebody heard my plea.
Way to go Nater! Good Tater
Pinning the bullpen on Bobby is idiotic. Have you looked around either league? Leaky bullpens are everywhere. The talent is spread so thin across so many teams.
For the record, from a non-hater, Bobby’s achilles heel seems to be an inability to manufacture runs when needed & overreliance on fading veterans.
nate dog w the 2 run shot
wait wait wait you think Norton remembers where all the bases are????????????

What did I tell yeah. McLouth is comin alive
But in other news, I will refer to Norton as “the Shark” from here on in.
that a boy!!!!!!
See now, that at bat right there is where “Big Game Javy” would of had his melt down. Braves playing meaningful games down the stretch this year. I think Vazquez is going to pitch a considerable amount better than he was last year for the Chi Sox…….can’t be too worse than he was, but still. Guy is absolutely more comfortable in ATL than he was playing for Ozzie.
It would certainly be great if we could somehow keep both Hudson AND Javy. Perhaps some team would consider Kawakami. If I was Frank Wren, I’d explore that before making a decision on Hudson or Vazquez. It’s not like Kenshin has been THAT bad. And it isn’t like his contract is awful. 14.6 million over the next two seasons.
It was a reference to a post earlier in the blog.
Oh wow. this stuff of like trying hard to win. Getting ahead, falling back then fighting back. Did teh bravos take some sort of class over the ASB to learn hos to play with some heart>
Hopefully this will help McLouth get back on track.
That should put it away….
Wayne in Utah
Can you believe it? BC had the nerve to use that washed up Norton and KJ!
McLouthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Nice RIP there. I told you McLouth naysayers to have faith in this guy. Needed insurance runs there. Still, with Moylan coming into the game…….it would be nice to get a few more insurance runs.
we gonna win this one folks
Good night. Is that the sixth or seventh ball caught on the warning track tonight?
July 24th, 200910:52 pm
Can’t have too many runs. We’ve proven that a few times already
Prado didn’t get cheated on that one.
lol, funny Nova…
Nate “The Great” McLouth with a 2nd decker!
Good for him and Javy can breathe just a little bit more!
Ah, ok, must’ve missed it, LOL! Still, I like “the Shark” for Norton, don’t know why…
This is an OMEN men & women. Greg Norton may be HOLY.
does anyone else think that corey hart should play a character on “trailer park boys”?
I believe kelly johnson was running for Norton. Cue a Paul Lentz diatribe…
July 24th, 200910:53 pm
good game from chipper.
Don’t get too excited guys. Moylan still has a chance to blow it.
Brewers have GOT to deal for relief pitching…and a starter if they want to get in the playoffs. This has been their bugaboo all year.
ata boy nate
From here on out, he is officially Greg Norman. He’s batting 1.000 as the White Shark. And like .105 as Norton.
Rob from SC
July 24th, 200910:54 pm
Wren made a move by getting Nate
Mclouth, great one but Norton set him up nicely
If the team had eaten chilidogs at the Varsity, they would have about 5 HR’s more tonight.
Philly 1 Cards 8
I have taken a week of Annual Leave in October should I make reservations at the Ptree Plaza? Or maybe the Claremont, maybe just stay with friends under the Techwood Viaduct
All right B-Mac, put this bad boy out of reach.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
