That’s what pisses me off. Javy makes one or two bad pitches and this guy gets away with murder.
The Brewers suck. I’m still pissed at Corey Hart for his sh***y throw to Brian in the all-star game last year.

this start by JV is exactly why we should be looking to trade him. the knock on him is he is not a big game pitcher. given a 4-0 lead he has to be able to hold that for 7 innings. i like everything he has done for us this year but if you can get a bat for him do it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok this is not just a reaction to this game but an observation over the entire season, chipper is no longer a middle of the order bat. he gets on alot with walks and singles and occasionally shows some pop. thats a number 2 hitter not a 3 or 4

Game ova…Turning point was Chipper K’s with the bases loaded….They threw him a change-up and Chipper has been getting A LOT of 3-2 change-ups…

I was just hoping Brian would get a walk which probably would have been more significant than a hit and then Yunel could have come up for the four run homerun.

Vazquez cant pitch lights out every time out. On nights that the doesnt have it, the offense has to pick him up, BY SCORING. The bullpen is going to have to come in in the next inning and two and shut them down. The bench will also have to deliver a key pinch hit before the game is over with.
And that is what SCARES me.

They got the three run homer from Prado in the third, but they should have gotten a lot more. Chipper and McCann both left them loaded. Oh, well. New game. It’s 5-4. Does Cox leave Vazquez in or does he dare go to the pen? We shall see.

Yeah because no pitcher ever has bad games. Lets not kid ourselves here, the Brewers have a good lineup, we weren’t going to just put up zero’s across the board. Javy made a bad pitch to Braun, he took advantage. His control looks a little off tonight but the guy has been one of our best 2 pitchers all season. Getting a bat and losing him will not make us better.

Nice RIP by Chipper. The homers are starting to come for him. That was right down the middle. That is how you hammer a mistake.
I’m not going to dogg Chipper for that bases loaded strikeout. That is going to happen. Notice how I havent ONCE ripped either Chipper or McCann when they have struggled. I may say “that wasnt a good at-bat” or something along those lines. But I have not, nor will I, advocate benching them.

I really don’t think you’ll see Atlanta touch this team and make another move. They may not be the best in the East and they may not even make the playoffs, but they are playing well and I think you hold your guns, bring up a few of the youngsters and sign a free agent hitter. Anybody know what the free agent class looks like after this season?

TurnThePage…….it’s a no brainer, Cox should leave Vazquez in. He’s pitched decent, just left a few pitches up that were hammered. He’s at 77 pitches. If he doesnt extend himself this inning, then maybe he can come out in the 7th as well.
