“Damn i leave the room and that happens. I knew boog and joe talking up how atl hasnt allowed a hr in however long would come back haunt us.
Good Point, I guess Chip Carey Rubbed Off on Joe and Boog…”
But seriously they kept mentioning that stat Way Too Many times!
Ok, people – deep breath. Let’s start over.
…2-0 now for SF.
July 24th, 20099:59 pm
Javy doesn’t seem to have his best stuff tonight, would be nice for the offesne to pick him up.
Steve from OH–
Hmm…no, I think it was that inning…
I don’t trust lefties.
Supes Your boy has let us down tonight.
Gee, thanks for the tip.
I hope he redeems himself at his next at bat!
This guy has a 6.12 era. We need to hit this hard!!!
Alright this guy looks nervous. We can so take him.
Come on. I’m kidding.
For some reason though I just can’t stand Craig Counsel.
I still think we’re going to win. I’m not talking trash about the Braves. Give me a break.
Yep, Mac had a great at bat except he left three runners on base. Kinda Frenchy-like???
Prince Fielder reminds me of Kool, of “The Fat Boys.”
Other Than Martin Prado Being Clutch and Going Yard the Offense has looked like the offense of the first half…
July 24th, 200910:00 pm
Holy geez that was an awesome catch.
Nova Scotia Steve
McClouth has hit the ball hard all night. Nice catch.
Oh, yeah…it was a great AB…
Who screwed up? Their stupid outfielder, ’cause he caught it!
if he starts you off 2-0 take a pitch or two Nate
Avoid the rush, hate Nate early.
you know its coming.
July 24th, 200910:01 pm
I’d take Councel over KJ or Norton any day. Heck, I’d take Hampton off the bench over those two.
Braves pitchers had gone 77 innings into the second half without giving up a homer until Braun’s shot off Vazquez
If it weren’t so true, I’d get mad at that…
p.s. this pitcher is the luckiest man of the face of the earth.
That’s what pisses me off. Javy makes one or two bad pitches and this guy gets away with murder.
The Brewers suck. I’m still pissed at Corey Hart for his sh***y throw to Brian in the all-star game last year.
July 24th, 200910:02 pm
this start by JV is exactly why we should be looking to trade him. the knock on him is he is not a big game pitcher. given a 4-0 lead he has to be able to hold that for 7 innings. i like everything he has done for us this year but if you can get a bat for him do it now!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shamus- i thought you were gonna say the kool aid man.
ok this is not just a reaction to this game but an observation over the entire season, chipper is no longer a middle of the order bat. he gets on alot with walks and singles and occasionally shows some pop. thats a number 2 hitter not a 3 or 4
July 24th, 200910:03 pm
Mitchell . . .try 2 valium and calling gamblers anonymous . . . might help you calm down
Game ova…Turning point was Chipper K’s with the bases loaded….They threw him a change-up and Chipper has been getting A LOT of 3-2 change-ups…
BTW, I would NEVER throw Ryan Braun a fastball…Just ask Tommy Hanson
OMG Their Fans still do the Wave?
Now that you mention it I could definitely see Prince Fielder filling in for the Kool Aid man if he’s ever sick or something
July 24th, 200910:04 pm
I gotta a bad feeling about the outcome of this game…
Milwaukee may have the least attractive fans I have ever seen in my life…or maybe its just an off day or something
I didn’t know what happened. I thought somebody said Chipper came up short.
I was just hoping Brian would get a walk which probably would have been more significant than a hit and then Yunel could have come up for the four run homerun.
Seriously, this is a bunch of crap.
I see, Chipper… strike out. Not good.
T’Hawkin – our fans still do the wave too. They were doing it when I went to the game last weekend vs. the Mets.
July 24th, 200910:05 pm
Did they just say that if we lose tonight if would be on Chipper?
Vazquez cant pitch lights out every time out. On nights that the doesnt have it, the offense has to pick him up, BY SCORING. The bullpen is going to have to come in in the next inning and two and shut them down. The bench will also have to deliver a key pinch hit before the game is over with.
And that is what SCARES me.
That’s because minus Prado, that’s what you got cept for the jettisoning of Mr Frenchy.
Same Here, about your post about Corey Hart and that Garbage throw in last years all star game…
Rob from SC

Now I feel Better
there we go Chip!
Marc from FL
We got lucky I think on the check swing, but I’ll take a homer!
Chipper Where was that in your last at-bat!!!
CHIPPPPPPERRRR….coulda used that last at-bat however
Woah! Maybe Chipper finally fixed him left handed swing and made up for his lame strike out!
Chippa! You’re forgiven…for now!
The third and fourth innings were a nightmare for Atlanta. Chipper just redeemed himself for leaving them loaded, though. Left handed at that!
Oh yeah! Now he goes deep…
Home Run Chipper! makes up for leaving the bases load a little bit!
Chipper….right after the piece dogging himself for no power. Nice.
chipper is no longer a middle of the order bat. he gets on alot with walks and singles kelevra
Good call, man
right thing to do chipper
BUT IT’S THE WRONG PITCHER!!! shoulda done that when the bases were full
July 24th, 200910:07 pm
I think a troll caught that in the right field bleachers or wait it mighta been Bud Selig
LOL at whoever claim Chipper no longer a middle of the order guy . . .
I’ll take it but gotta love how hes 3-4 with the 1 he missed being the biggest one if the night.
Alright Yunel, show off your grown man moves.
The curse of KJ
“”The bench will also have to deliver a key pinch hit before the game is over with.
And that is what SCARES me.”"
Noooo worries, we got Ed Norton.
Just hard to tell at Tooner Field because we hardly sell-out unless the HomeTown Mets/Red Sox/Yankees are in town
I think there was backspin on that one for Chipper
Oh yeah its heap, not yunel.
July 24th, 200910:08 pm
They got the three run homer from Prado in the third, but they should have gotten a lot more. Chipper and McCann both left them loaded. Oh, well. New game. It’s 5-4. Does Cox leave Vazquez in or does he dare go to the pen? We shall see.
“this start by JV is exactly why we should be looking to trade him. the knock on him is he is not a big game pitcher. given a 4-0 lead he has to be able to hold that for 7 innings. i like everything he has done for us this year but if you can get a bat for him do it now!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Yeah because no pitcher ever has bad games. Lets not kid ourselves here, the Brewers have a good lineup, we weren’t going to just put up zero’s across the board. Javy made a bad pitch to Braun, he took advantage. His control looks a little off tonight but the guy has been one of our best 2 pitchers all season. Getting a bat and losing him will not make us better.
Hmmm, so does Cox send Javy back out there again? Or maybe a “fresh arm” might actually preserve this lead?
You really can’t classify Chipper as a power hitter anymore
holliday is 3-4 tonight.. the gamble might just pay off for the cards
Nice RIP by Chipper. The homers are starting to come for him. That was right down the middle. That is how you hammer a mistake.
I’m not going to dogg Chipper for that bases loaded strikeout. That is going to happen. Notice how I havent ONCE ripped either Chipper or McCann when they have struggled. I may say “that wasnt a good at-bat” or something along those lines. But I have not, nor will I, advocate benching them.
Again, nice RIP by Chipper.
Go 1 more with Vazquez
Nova Scotia Steve,
Thats what the beer is for.
July 24th, 200910:09 pm
I don’t care what anybody else thinks, I like Ryan Braun as a player. He is hard nosed, plays the field well and has some thunder in his bat. Gotta like him.
If it weren’t for the Olympics…would the Braves have built such a big stadium? Have they ever really needed 50,000+ seats on a consistent basis?
Well…..at least McCann didn’t fly out to the warning track this time
chipper just isn’t a middle of the order guy..
OK Bobby. Time for you to work your magic and bring in the bullpen goons. If we get 8 run lead it may be OK to bring in Moylan. Is Bennett OK for Bobby to bring in? Bobby must have been having nightmares with his boy Bennett not being available to blow ball games. Don’t worry Bobby, it won’t be long!
Chipper redeems himself.
I guess that BMac is saving his redemption for later in the game when it will be more meaningful.
Alright Javy, we need a 1-2-3 inning.
July 24th, 200910:10 pm
Is Gonzo available tonight? I am assuming no?
Way Chipper was talking today he’s feeling relatively healthy. He could go on a white-hot tear at any time. Could be the beginning of that time.
Shamus Thacker………..your 10:07pm posting was too funny.
I really don’t think you’ll see Atlanta touch this team and make another move. They may not be the best in the East and they may not even make the playoffs, but they are playing well and I think you hold your guns, bring up a few of the youngsters and sign a free agent hitter. Anybody know what the free agent class looks like after this season?
Lol tomahawkin i have never been to the ted when some moron didnt get the wave going.
July 24th, 200910:11 pm
Brian McCout 0-4 so far … By the way, what the heck is happening no Nate McL*OUT*?
TurnThePage…….it’s a no brainer, Cox should leave Vazquez in. He’s pitched decent, just left a few pitches up that were hammered. He’s at 77 pitches. If he doesnt extend himself this inning, then maybe he can come out in the 7th as well.
Conrad played SS for Gwinnett tonight
I don’t trust our Bullpen against this offense, I’m gonna get flashbacks of those two losses in Colorado watching this bullpen perform
And We Can Ill-Afford to give this brewer offense extra outs to play with “Nuff Said!”
I respectfully disagree.
July 24th, 200910:12 pm
Can someone ship some HGH to our boy, McCann?
This game would be over and he’d be on his way to setting some records.
Feel like I’m watching Glenn Hubbard with all of these warning-track fly balls.
Was it in Milwaukee several years ago that Lloyd McClendon whacked one of the weiners in the race with a bat?
how come all the negative people say game over when the team is losing but never when they’re actually winning?
Are they closet fans of the opponents???
I gotta a bad feeling about the outcome of this game… Me
yeah and then he homer’s but seriously what is that his 12th? i mean its almost august
Sorry…I was probably that moron
July 24th, 200910:13 pm
GET THIS DUDE OUT
FA class for hitters begins and ends with Bay and Holliday
Brian McOUt? Really?
Yeah. What’s he ever done anyway? Other than, you know, being the best hitting catcher in the national league for the past four seasons.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
