I don’t care if he has called taht high curveball all day. When the catcher catches it above the belt, that thing was NEVER a strike and its stupid of an umpire to call a strike, consistantly or otherwise, that isnt a strike.

Supes………..Kawakami has had a number of starts where he has pitched 6 or 7 innings. He isnt going to mow them down every time out. He grinded out 5 innings and only gave up 1 run.
It isnt like our bullpen is being over extended right now. We arent winning right now because we arent getting hits against Barry Zito.

that pitch was a ball but haven’t the Braves learned today that if there is 2 strikes and the ball is close, they need to swing. This ump has been terrible – at least 3 strikeouts now on pitches that were clearly balls

with Kotchman, does it really matter if he goes on a 15 game hitting streak but rarely comes up with a rbi and rarely scores any runs?
i dont think it matters one bit. over the span of his hitting streak he has zero homeruns, 4 runs and 5 rbi. assuming he played 160 games in a season, at this current pace of “hitting” throughout a full season he would end up with 50 rbi and 40 runs. so i say again, does it really matter if a guy goes on a long hitting streak, yet doesnt score or drive in runs?

very unprofessional of the ump to simply say “get the fu#$ out of here”. I hope that this ump gets called out for his terrible game and for his being unprofessional.
I am simply amazed that it took Cox this long to get thrown out of this game. Very one sided with the balls and strikes

Inning should be over now, after that non-call at 2B.
I’m thinking that the umpiring crew is sticking it to Yunel. Strike zone is a little wider for him than anyone else. Close calls at second are consistently going the other way.
And the way the umpires are glaring at Yunel in these situations leads me to believe that it is personal.

I believe the only recourse the Braves have is to ask the league to review the game film. Otherwise, if you tick off these guys too much, it could come back to haunt you later.
One of the reasons for hoping Escobar learns to settle down a bit. These guys are human, and they DO remember the antics from the players.
