When was the last time Soriano pitched? I bet Bobby works him and Moylan tonight regardless of the score.
Question, with Carlyle and Huddy both expected to be back, do we really need any new arms? Aside from assuming Kotch is going to cool down (but he looks legit to me right now), I don’t know if we can improve this team a whole lot right now. I’m leaning closer and closer to just not making any moves and adjusting internally from here out. We also have Infante coming back and KJ if they feel he’s ready.

Been looking at doing that, Jeff. Tried to get my father-in-law to chip in since the extra TV will go in the guest room. No dice. That’s a good idea tho, to get it for hubby’s b-day. I would be happy just watching on a smaller set.

Epinephrine…….if you consider a 1 game series a “sweep”…………..Their game tomorrow against the Padres is a make-up game from a rain out earlier in the season. The Cardinals are coming in this weekend to play the Phillies.

Poor Bobby Cox – His three favorite ways to hinder the Braves progress have been taken away from him, by trade (Francoeur), injury (Bennett), or demotion (KJ). The current 6 out of 7 (if we win tonight) streak is proving that his feeble mind is slow to come up with new ways to snatch defeats from the jaws of victory.
Give him time. He has 20 years of experience screwing things up. I have not an unce of doubt he will come through yet again
In other words, we are now seeing just how good this Braves team could’ve been from day one, had Cox had the right people in the right places at the right times.

JJ is dealin, that’s three pitchers in a row…first Hanson, then Lowe, now JJ…I wish we had a better measure to how well they are pitching now but that will come with the Dodgers I suppose

We;ve always had a CHANCE to make it to the post-season. But as long as Cox manages, making the post-season will still leave us with no chance to win the World Series.

The team never needed to be blwon up. What they have done is used a multitude of moves to TRY and achieve what one move couldve done
Fire Cox and you have to take away his chances to misuse Frenchy, KJ,a nd Bennett.
He still has Moylan, and 70-some games to stumble onto new ways to crap the mound. Fear not. Cox is nothing if not consistant in his ability to lead a team to underachievement

So that would mean he gave the green light on moving Frenchy and putting KJ on the DL (when we all know he wasn’t hurt). I would still be using Moylan too, he’s a good pitcher. The Bennett thing – I can’t understand that one, thank God he hurt himself, lol, cause he is just… terrible.

The Bird and Indian: regarding your 8:42 p.m. comment. Actually, I don’t mind him being here, because it’s comic relief at this point (and always for page views).
Although I’ve got to say, it’s a bit sad watching a (presumably) grown man flailing about so desperately, losing it in a public forum like this (I guess that’s where anonymity is actually a good thing).
But I’m surprised that, when the Braves are playing like this, anyone would really see fit to respond to his tired, one-note diatribes.

I think that’s why we don’t make any moves. Hewyard and Freeman are so close to being ready, might even get Sept. call up if we’re in it. Plus we have four guys coming back (Huddy, Carlyle, Infante, KJ), and maybe 5 if you count Bennett (please no). I think the Braves just go with it and see what happens.

One of the good things about Bobby taking Jurrjens out after 6 innings in his last start against Mets while throwing only 85 pitches………is that if Bobby wants to leave him in to pitch the 8th inning (so he can directly go to Soriano in the 9th)…….he can because Jurrjens didnt have to extend himself in his last start.
If Bobby had tried to get him to pitch an inning or two more in that 11-0 game……….then this for sure would be Jurrjen’s last inning.
As it stands right now, Jurrjens is at 96 pitches through 7 innings. If I was Bobby, I’d leave him in for 1 more inning and then go to Soriano (he could use the work). If Jurrjens starts to struggle in the 8th, he can have Gonzalez warm up real quick and bring him in.
