long time braves fan
Rob from SC
You better love Escobar now
EscoBAH! I love it!!
TOLD YA, OMG I SOOOO CALLED THAT!
WOW. Dude is on a roll. That’s some freakin’ pop.
Yunel EFFIN Escobar!
COME GET IN MY POSTER, SON!
A walk for Garrett Anderson. That’s a professional hitter.
The Bird and Indian
Marc called it.
NOW THAT’S WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! Way to go Yunel!!
I mean that is freaking huge.
Yunel has a bad attitude toward Lincecum.
Holy COW !!
BTW, funny giants blog -
YUNEL FOR CLEANUP!!!
True Braves Fans

Can Yunel win an award every week?
boy do i like escobar hitting lower in the order
1st HR against Lincecum by a right handed pitcher in 176 innings. WOW
That Crazy Cuban….just don’t know…he can’t do that…. against The Freak !!
lol couch tater – well done.
Bat Masterson…my brother in Tokyo and I share an account…the picture quality is pretty good…there are the occasional stoppages but you can always quickly switch to the other network feed (or either radio broadcasts)…overall it’s awesome, that plus the bloggage lets me feel like I still live in Atlanta…
Way to go Escobar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for showing me that I was right to have faith in you.
I bet that a lot of fantasy baseball players took Giants pitching for the pitching tonight, lol. I took Braves pitching.
Beatin’ the Freak! Beatin’ the Freak!
July 22nd, 20098:02 pm
I think I just woke up the house with that Escobar HR! This is almost unreal how good this team is right now.
Great to see Esco smile
Look at that smile.
Are the Braves an offensive juggernaut? Geez.
Wow!.440 with runners in scoring position. Clutch. got to give Cox some praise putting Esco in a RBI spot.
July 22nd, 20098:03 pm
I smell a sweep already!
Yunel sure loves the 6th spot
Where would we be without Prado & Escobar?
It’s the hair, The Freak needs a haircut, good thing he won’t get one till after he leaves town now. Bwahahaha!!
You just got to love the way Yunel jogged the bases………..with some arrogance………you owned that Yunel!!!!!!!
July 22nd, 20098:04 pm
My neighbors heard me! That’s for sure.
Yeah hitting him 6th certainly isn’t something I would have thought of, and it really has paid dividends. Just huge to win this game, if we can pull it out. To have a chance to sweep the team that was first in the WC-good things. Very good things.
Let’s go JJ.
Only the fourth three-run homer that Lincecum has ever allowed. Others were by Braun (twice) and Beltran.
Waybe in Utah,
I might be “foked up”…………
Esco Go Go!!!
Wonder if they walk Loaf to get to Esco again?? Haha. Not too bright PREFERRING to pitch to the BEST hitter in the league with RISP.
Which sets the table for Yunel. Man, I am freakin’ good (read my 6:11 post!).
July 22nd, 20098:05 pm
I won’t say he “hammered” that one…but….Yu nels another one !! (Ba-da-boom)
Not even Bobby will find the way to lose this one.
Ruth is the answer
July 22nd, 20098:06 pm
Linecum already up to 56 pitches through only 3 innings. I just dont see the Giants coming back, given the way their offense is struggling.
1st HR against Lincecum by a right handed pitcher in 176 innings.
I love those Jinx Stats, (more so when they work in our favor)!!
This is fun. Really, really fun.
Seems like that jerk with Fox Rosenthal claimed that Yunel dodges the best pitchers. What do you call Lincecum, the not really right handed Cy Young super pitcher. Will he take back his stupid words? Don’ bet on it, if he is typical of the network for which he works.
July 22nd, 20098:07 pm
I wonder which team will lead the NL in ERA after this series, lol.
McFann – Did you see this?
walter Johnson is the answer
Yes it is. Hopefully he’ll start getting more attention for what he does right.
There might be some stat getting forget here. Anyone has the number of error for the braves last 20 games? I bet is low. They have been doing this clean.
July 22nd, 20098:08 pm
JJ dominating the Giants lineup. No surprise….
I am a little surprised that the Braves are having this much success.
I think Yunel likes hitting in the 6 hole
I know you are not mocking my overuse of emoticons right?
July 22nd, 20098:09 pm
Yunel has unique instincts with his running and hitting. He knows how to step up with added pressure. Yunel is the future!!!!!!!!
MLB Network is as stupid as ESPN. Larkin tried to say something good about the Braves and the host basically stepped in and just said forget the 4ER, let’s look at Lincecum’s strikeouts. HUH???
July 22nd, 20098:11 pm
If the braves don’t give Yunel a long term deal at the end of this season, they are nuts. He and Mc Ann need to be the key of our lineup for years to come.
Escobar is such a baller.

I think Bobby has finally got his lineup…would like to see us one more arm in the bullpen though
Lincecum isn’t looking so Freakin great tonight is he?
Bat masterson ,I have the mlb.tv premium it works very well most of the time. A good (cable or DSL)connection is a must.
Has anyone mentioned that Lincecum looks like Mitch Kramer on Dazed and Confused? Remember the pitching scene before O’Bannion (Affleck) chases him off the field?
Lincecum is at 61 pitches already… me thinks he won’t be out there too much longer either. We are getting in to their BP really easily this series.
OK..I’ll go ahead and ask…What…is our magic number?… (Doubt we’ll lose any more games this year)
July 22nd, 20098:13 pm
My God the blog slows down when things are going good. Where is willieg? Herschel Talker? Hell, N8 doesn’t even frequent the place as much when the team is playing well. I mean, my goodness, if it just weren’t for Bobby Cox, this team would be 25 games over by now I tells ya! /rolls eyes.
“From this day on, I’ll play even harder,” Escobar said. “I met kids that watch the Braves play all the time. From this moment on, they know that they met Yunel Escobar. And I’ll do whatever it takes to not let those kids down so they feel proud of having a friend like me.”
Heath (Cleveland)…………Right when the McLouth trade went down, I suggested dropping Escobar down to the 5 hole in the order. I guess that someone could say “better late than never”.
I knew that we could play this way. It was just hard to see a number of people on here to see that. I CANNOT stress the IMPORTANCE of getting rid of the easy outs in the line-up. We are much me adept at working the count, getting the starting pitcher’s pitch count up, then earlier in the season.
Here’s what I would have said if I were on the blog in the fourth inning after Yunel’s homer:
Actually the game was over after we scored in the first. Or perhaps the way we scored.
But seriously, game over. Bring on Zito.
We gotta work on our bunting. Geez.
July 22nd, 20098:14 pm
JJ should definitely take some bunting lessons from Lowe and Vazquez after this game.
Somebody teach JJ how to bunt. Anybody but Diaz.
The Freak shoulda dropped that one…easy double play
Heath, well I think a lot of the media friendly players like Lincecum/Wright/Ortiz etc. can’t do any wrong and I guess they’re all like friends, I guess.
Thanks for posting that! I would have gotten to it eventually, but I’m glad you posted it so I could read it now.
Makes that home run even better!
Mitchell, I will send MFIKY to your front door if you jinxed this.
July 22nd, 20098:15 pm
Fan in Va………this line-up was forced on Bobby. “His line-up” included Jeff Francoeur, Kelly Johnson, and Jordan Schafer.
Are you kidding me right now?
Almost got that one outta here.
July 22nd, 20098:16 pm
welcome back Nate!
Thatta boy Nate!
I love how many pitches Church see most ABs. He might not be an impact bat, but at least he grinds out quality ABs versus our former right fielder.
As McLouth hits a bullet… love it.
Wow I thought for sure that was a HR by Mclouth, that thing was smashed!
That was a rip by McLouth. That is the fastest I’ve seen a ball hit the wall in quite some time.
Kaboom……. welcome to hotlanta Mr. Lincecum!!!!!!!!!!!!!
damn…i wish he got that bunt down
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
