“Your 7:56 quote about shopping at the gap…”
I Like that quote Chief!

Way to go Esco…. Show the haters why you deserve respect, and dont need to talk.
July 21st, 20098:03 pm
I bet Phil Neikro is the answer to the trivia question.
I agree, 6 spot is perfect for Yunie. This game is real close to being put a way. Another run or two or three for good measure, but this should be enough barring a Chernobyl
I do what I can Boss!
I wonder if Escobar understood McCann’s speech….At least KK has his own interpreter …Escobar should get his own personal interpreter…
That was the first fly ball out.
Great stat just given about the Giants not yet to overcome a 3-run deficit.
July 21st, 20098:04 pm
Chip and Joe
Please don’t jinx us tonight…?
I love all their first pitch swinging. It’s making Lowe very efficient.
July 21st, 20098:05 pm
Can’t blame there. Lewis is fast.
Lowe looks pretty good so far tonight. Sinker is working.
Did we ever think (in May & June) that we’d see this this kind of performance?
Honestly, I had my doubts, but this is nice!
Rob from SC

Heyward 0-2 2K’s
DOB..did you take French at Kansas for the ladies….
Nice stab Chipper
Good Olee Stab Hoss!
Flashin’ the leatha tonight.
C’mon Cubbies. No “lovable losers” tonight please…
Damn, the defense is looking really good tonight as well.
July 21st, 20098:07 pm
Francouer just dropped a ball in RF…
Hmmm, Phillies and Cubs tied, who would you rather win that game?
D!! chipper must be feeling 27 again with this recent braves surge
This is good
I can’t complain about Verizon and Geico commercials tonight. No commercials on Peachtree.
July 21st, 20098:08 pm
D Lowe is dealing! Only 1 ball hit in the air and it was a foul out, every other ball hit on the ground to an infielder or through for a single
July 21st, 20098:09 pm
Bream/Belliard/Blauser/Lemke/TP/Justice/A.Jones all helped the Braves win all those years, not just the pitching. It’s good to see that we have both good pitching and defense with this ‘09 team.
Steve Carlton threw 304 innings in 1980.
Church taking the walk
July 21st, 20098:10 pm
Here comes the bunt…
Steve from OH……..I’ve been listening to Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper (the Giants announcers) for years. They announce like they are having a normal conversation over a cup of coffee. That’s their style. And they are definite homers, lol. When Bonds was playing, Krukow was a big Bonds supporter.
Another great play.
Oh and by the way, we may be watching Escobar morphing into a flat out star. Not a good player-but a star. Just think, two years ago Baseball Prospectus was calling him a “utility player”.
What is this team going to do if Mac and Chipper keep heating up? Of course, we are slated to lose tomorrow with Tiny Tim on the hill–but taking 3/4 in this series would be really nice. This is a different team than the one we saw in April and May, no question.
“Now Walk It Out!”
That’s such a dumb song…!
So nice to see a Church walk vs. a Francoeur Flailing out (or single).
July 21st, 20098:11 pm
Cubs are closer to Braves than the Colorado, so cubs win and braves win and colorado loses, we move a game closer
Phil Niekro had 342 innings in 1979.
July 21st, 20098:12 pm
Lowe and Vazquez could give bunt lessons to the rest of the team.
Lowe needs to help McLouth with bunting.
Nate’s due for a big fly.
Derek Lowe, designated bunter, anyone?
That too Heath (Cleveland).
July 21st, 20098:13 pm
Phew!!! The ESPN gametracker made that bunt look like an infield popup! lol
need to get McLouth going
Let’s add on natey-baby
Counting games back in the WC right now is just silly. Braves need to keep winning series. Once it gets to late August, then worry about the teams in front. Right now, just keep playing good ball. I mean, a three game sweep of the Phillies would change everyone’s thinking. It’s just not worth doing the math right now.
July 21st, 20098:14 pm
Everytime y’all post “WC” it makes me think “World Cup” lol
July 21st, 20098:15 pm
Boy, Nate could use a day or two off.
And Escobar might need to help him hitting
McLouth is not a leadoff hitter
He needs a day off!
Superhoo – instead of watching Gametracker, try this link (about the same bandwidth)
What is the deal with Nate lately? He seems to be having a lot of strikeouts and O-fers.
Man, come on Nate. Need to at least put the ball in play baby!
I apologize. I was reading over the blog the other night when I was on & was like, dude, steve never responded to me about his arm. Turns out you did & gave me your own High School ball story. Just wanted to tell you I read your response after all. I felt like an a$$. Sorry to hear about the arm btw…sounds like you’re still having issues with it?
Whoo-hoo! That was a fun inning (the third)…that’s one way to get a walk, BMac!
I woulda been on here sooner, but the Bird started having a serious freak out–flying all over the place and slamming into everything. Scary stuff…back in the cage now, and calmed down.
July 21st, 20098:16 pm
Prado! Keep it going!
Team MVP Nuff Said!!!
Good hit by Prado to pick up McLouth and drive in the fifth run.
Prado doing some more “correcting”
July 21st, 20098:17 pm
Prado is a BEAST!!!
Correction anyone? I guess that Prado is well into “correcting” himself tonight? Lol.
Prado doubters please step forward…and apologize directly to the man!
If there has one guy that’s been cold, it’s McLouth–but gotta hand it to the guy, he still gets on base even when struggling. He’ll come back around eventually.
Heath (Cleveland)……….you barely beat me to the punch with the “correction” thing.
July 21st, 20098:18 pm
Put Church in Center tomorrow.Nate needs a day off imo
So much for that 1.00 ERA for Sandowski.
Giants in deep doo-doo right now.
Hopefully, the Braves sweep the Giants and “wake them up” too (since the Giants play the Rockies next).
Nate-Dawg has been having a lot of O-Fers lately, but he is still drawing his walks…Joe and Boog Mentioned that last Night…
If you are Kelly Johnson you have got to be thinking “Man, I may never play second base for the Braves ever again”
Alright everyone, I finally get to leave work. Heading by the Commissary then watching the rest of the game at home!
I released Matt Holliday earlier this year and added Prado – starting too look like a genius on my fantasy team, lol.
Steve from OH
July 21st, 20098:19 pm
Hey, no biggie Bobby’s! The only problems I have with the shoulder is it is definitely very weak compared to before and to my left. But I still play a lot of golf and hockey with no problems, though I haven’t played any ball since I left school (unfortunately). I’ve got full ROM and no pain, and hence, no complaints!
July 21st, 20098:20 pm
Hopefully the Braves sign Escobar and Prado to long term deals in the offseason. Hanson and Jurrjens too.
Cubbies-Phils still 1-1 in the top of the 5th.
Brian EFFIN McCann!
YEAH BABY!!!!!!!! BMAC TOUCHES EM’ ALL!!!!!!!!!
Who are these guys wearing the Braves uniforms?
MAN THIS TEAM IS CLOWNING!!!!
When is Mac gonna start hitting again?
McFann has a big smile on her face
July 21st, 20098:21 pm
Good lord, suddenly this team isn’t missing anything…I’ll take it
Original Jon………..nothing wrong with Nate McLouth. He is just in a little slump. We have other guys picking up the slack right now. It isnt like he isnt going to bust out of it. Be patient. Slumps are part of the game. It isnt like he is going to go through a stretch where he bats .240 in a 900 at-bat stretch with only 16 homers.
3 run jack for McCann. A few days ago, some of you were talking about McCann slumping. The past few days he has started to heat up. Give McLouth some time to bust out of his.
Meanwhile, nice to get into that Giants bullpen early.
Folks we are looking at a different braves team than the one that played through June
Wow. Bring on Lincecum!!!(waving my fist in the air)
After nearly getting hit by a pitch, BMac strokes a 3 run homer to center field.
Maybe Gonzales and Soriano can get a night off.
BOOM!!! BMac! Walk Chipper, face BMac. Not a good idea. Looks like BMac is gettin’ his swing back in order.
If I were the Phillies, I would not get to comfortable
Oh man, I hope they show the same kind of offense for Jair tomorrow against Lincecum.
STICK A FORK IN EM!!!
With leads like this all the time, maybe having Jeff Bennett back won’t be that bad! (shudders)
MAN are we scoring some runs……Please Bobby don’t tinker with this lineup!!!
Seriously – where has THIS team been all year? GREAT defense, timely and productive offense. The pitching has been here, but…..Day – um! About time huh?
