Well now it looks like the Jays GM is saying it’s unlikely Halladay will be dealt this season. Hopefully that takes care of the obsession some of you have with the Halladay/Phills thing.

I understand what you’re saying about other GM’s/FO’s having access to KJ’s past numbers. But his stock is still low regardless. Otherwise, that’s like saying Vaz’s stock isn’t any higher right now than it was at this time last year. It is. Because of what he’s done recently. Just like KJ’s stock has gone down because of what he’s done lately.
What a guy has done recently isn’t the end all be all of what FO’s look at. But it certainly plays into the equation.

Seriously, trading players for less than value isn’t exactly the road to riches, and trading good position players for relievers isn’t value-for-value, in most instances.

Tomahawkin…………..my guess as far as how Bobby will use Infante will be as a super sub. When Infante comes back, Bobby will be able to load the line-up more with either lefties or righties……Diaz/Garret in left………Infante/Church in right. Also, Infante can spell Escobar at short. If Prado has to play first or third to give Chipper or Kotchman a rest, then Infante can play second, unless a lefty is pitching and Infante has to play right field, which means that Conrad can play second.
Regardless, Omar Infante coming back will give Bobby Cox more flexibility to take advantage of pitching match-ups.

I took some heat for saying that Prado is going to go through a “correction” with his hitting, which he is. He will not continue to hit .330. But he is the starting second baseman and I support him.
But the Phillies are going to go through a “correction” of their own also. They really have a weak pitcher going tonight and I think their winning streak will come to an end and they will start to come back to earth. At least I hope they do.

Heath (Cleveland)……………the Giants feed is not in HD either. I just turned to BayAreaFoxSports (the local network that carries the Giants) and they arent offering the game in HD either. The majority of the time they do. But on occasion they wont. They didnt have it in HD last night either.

Wren had to take Frenchy away from Bobby. Trading Frenchy was the only way the team could be assured that Bobby would NOT have Frenchy parked in right field EVERY night!
Wren will have to trade KJ as well. When/IF KJ becomes available to Bobby, you can count on him getting some starts at second base no matter HOW WELL PRADO IS HITTING!
Bobby is like a junkie for certain players. He was a Frenchy junkie and he is a KJ junkie. I don’t trust Bobby on the Prado deal. I would bet that Prado still can’t rest assured that he owns the second base job even though he has more than earned it!
Please Frank Wren, save the Braves nation from Bobby’s indescretions! Trade Kelly Johnson before Bobby puts him back in the lineup!

Nonsense. Kelly Johnson would be first in line to tell you he isn’t a good position player right now. In order for him to get back to that level, he would have to start again, which won’t happen here, barring injury. In short, the deal you’re shrugging off as selling low is one where the Braves would be the ones hoping the Orioles said yes.

I don’t start scoreboard watching until September. This statement does tie in nicely with all of the Halladay to the Phillies paranoia creeping around here, though. The quickest way to guarantee that the Phillies pony up for Halladay is to have them start losing for the next week. Then, pressure builds for that deal to happen. With a 6.5 game lead, they can stand still as long as they keep winning.
So, whether the Phillies win or lose between now and the trade deadline goes a long way in determining what happens with Halladay.

What a play!! this DP combo is looking everyday better. This reminded me of the old Dodger combos of Davy Lopes, bill russell, in terms of coordination. Guys, forget about the middle infield, these two will be here for a LONG TIME. If I will be KJ, i will be playing the outfield in AAA, to be ready for the future.
