Mets up 5-0 on the Nats. Weird stat that I saw the other day. We are 5-4 versus the Nats. The rest of the NL East is 26-4
The walk to the pitcher hurt, but let’s not forget the out Matty D gave away as well…should have been an error…
We cannot put runners on in front of Randy Winn. I swear we got out Albert Pujols more than we got out this guy.
July 20th, 20097:48 pm
you can see the writing on the wall for this game.
Hey guys! I just went back and looked through the comments but what is up with the camera angles tonight?
July 20th, 20097:49 pm
OK, nice lineup i had. ….and nice home run by Anderson
well, there’s one of them back!
Loaf…on the board
Way to go LOAF!!!!!!!!
Garret LOVES the high cheese!
Holy cow. That was a frickin blast by Loafer.
G-Anderson will be catching up with Chipper pretty soon in the HR category, eh?
We may have a couple of Braves finding there power stroke.
Careful GA, you might out product Chipper this year if you keep this up.
July 20th, 20097:50 pm
Nice hearing “Tonto, jump on it” and not that country song
*product = produce
Loaf Garret on a blackberry from the dugout by the gatorade
Come get in my poster, kids!
I like the fat kid clapping his hands by putting a fist into his open hand. Nice camera work
44 pitches through 2 innings for Hanson. If he doesnt settle down, this could be a short night for him. I still feel that he can go 6.
Meanwhile, there goes 11 innings of no hit ball there.
What did I say about the offense picking up Hanson? I’ve been saying all season that Garret can turn on a fast ball.
Whats up with McLouth and the no hitting?
that’ll help the team’s mindset, now they should be thinking “hey, we CAN hit this guy”
good job GA, that ball was crushed. maybe hes been taking his chondroitin
July 20th, 20097:51 pm
3rd in NL in WHIP at 1.05
-8th in NL in ERA at 2.86
-2nd in NL in Ks at 141
-9th in NL in IP at 126.0
Man is dealin’ this year. (HEATH)
yes he is. with him the WHIP usually says it all. When he can keep it down, he has very good seasons;when it drifts up, he doesn’t. wonder what his K/100 pitches is this year? gotta be better than it often is.
Moving strike zone, gotta love it.
God Diaz that was a Nortonesque at bat…..it was right down the pipes quit whinin at the ump and swing.
Was that Spike Freakin’ Lee… that caught that Loaf bomb ??
Rob from SC
Diaz does nothing in the field or with the bat so far
Heyward catches that ball
Jman (Yunel is a Cyst)
July 20th, 20097:52 pm
I dare anyone in this blog to ever badmouth Garret Anderson again… It took him a while but he’s one of the most consistent hitters on this team.
still a bit early to be calling it here……if it’s 2-0 in the 7th …..then maybe
STFU and sit down Matty!!! That was a strike ALL DAY LONG!
I’m not really ready to trust Hanson with this important a game, so I hope I’m wrong.
Matt probably said… “WHAT THE FREAK UMP! THAT SILLY PITCH WAS CLEARLY NOT A STRIKE! I know you have a job to do Rob, but come on fella.”
Matt Diaz to umpire: Kiss my white behind.
July 20th, 20097:53 pm
“That’s the thing about Anderson, he’s got such strong hands that he doesn’t have to move his body much.”
Yup, that’s the way he likes it. Not having to move much at all.
we need a first baseman
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LLLLOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAFFFFFFFFFFF. Now if we just had a defensive right fielder…..
If you predict Hanson goes 6 you might as well and assume your buddy will be pitching the 7th.
Big inning here. If Tommy can come back, throw the filth AND for strikes, I’m feeling good. We are going to get to Sanchez. He is leaving balls all around the plate.
July 20th, 20097:54 pm
That was one of the few times that the umpire was right on the ball/strike calls Matt.
Dirty Yuni….that was classic.
Didn’t we have a defensive right fielder before the allstar break?
July 20th, 20097:55 pm
Now if we just had a defensive right fielder…..
Because Matt Diaz and his cute singles are an offensive threat
July 20th, 20097:56 pm
time to settle down and pitch like usual, Tommy
“That was one of the few times that the umpire was right on the ball/strike calls Matt.”
He may have been right, but he has got to get it right with both sides. Be consistent.
Frenchy is two for two tonight
Bengie Molina and Prince Fielder need to open up their own “Man Boobs” shop.
Tommy needs a quick couple of innings…Thank you Molina.

Frenchy is two for two tonight
TP is feeling the heat
McLouth rolled his wrist on a diving play in the first game back from the break. Has there been any news of that bothering him? Could that be the cause of his slump? He really looks off at the plate. Getting under just about everything.
I’m sure everyone knows Giants fans call Pablo Sandoval “Kung Fu Panda”, but did anyone know that they call Sandoval “Fat Ichiro”. I thought that was funny…..just sayin, the man is large and still very, very good.
July 20th, 20097:59 pm
He might have been arguing a previous pitch and not necessarily the strike 3 pitch. I missed the AB.
He is dealing
Hanson is dealing, and he is settling down.
Good job, Hanson
Need another inning like that for Tommy to get back on track (pitch count).
This umpire is all over the place. Strikes are called balls, balls called strikes, lol.
July 20th, 20098:00 pm
Rob..Church hasn’t looked too hot as a brave..I wonder where we would be if we had signed tex.
Hanson needed that 10 pitch inning. 54 pitches through 3 innings.
now those are some fastballs! stop f-king around with all the breaking balls and use em in better spots
weird – career high 6 K’s in the third inning… I assumed he had more than 5 K’s in his previous starts, but I suppose not.
If I were to see no more Verizon or Geico commercials tonight, I would consider myself extremely lucky.
Nate the GR8
July 20th, 20098:01 pm
turn the TV off Keylargo you will be extremely lucky.
July 20th, 20098:02 pm
Clout almost got hit in the mouthpiece.
Tex is now my least favorite player
July 20th, 2009
I even have Geico Insurance. I bet I could get it 20% cheaper if they would cut back to just 30 or 40 commercials a day on the stations I watch.
July 20th, 20098:03 pm
Bengie Molina and Prince Fielder need to open up their own “Man Boobs” shop. TnBrian
I’m curious what this would be. A store that sold accessories for the heavyset man? Like bras/bros? Or maybe an open forum for fat guys to talk about their problems?
You kiddin’ me?
Nate got a hit?
that broken bat job by McLouth just broke up an 0-for-17
Maybe that will be the hit to get McLouth going. He fought off a tough inside pitch.
maybe that’ll get him back on track
Why are we throwing any curve balls? They have not hit his fast ball at all. Keep spoting the heat until they catch up.
July 20th, 20098:04 pm
Jaglawyer…………I know, I’m afraid of “my buddy” being brought in the 7th to pitch, lol.
Love the steal!
He must have gone on his own.
July 20th, 20098:05 pm
That kid that is pitching for the phillies tonight has pitching motions very similar to maddux…Not saying the results are nearly close but take a quick look at ESPN.
good things can happen when Nate is on base
finally Nate!!! nice SB!! we need him hot.
Anyone know why Teheran hasnt started in more than 8 days? Just wondering.
July 20th, 2009
Everywhere he goes he kisses A$$. I would respect him more if he would admit he only went to NY for the money.
That’s too bad. Odarp smoked that.
up to …. chipper …
Steve from OH
July 20th, 20098:06 pm
C’mon Chip…2 run dinger right here
that Phillies pitcher is not kid. He is journeyman Rodrigo Lopez
July 20th, 20098:07 pm
Paul-You come off as a know-it-all,you are often condescending, imposing, pompous, and make others feel like a,well a moron.
Take it a little less serious, and please stop repeating yourself.
Steve from OH, I was thinking that, just getting concerned. I want a full, healthy season from the kid. Then let him loose in Rome next year.
jeffrey d…………the thing that you have to realize about Matt Diaz is that he needs to play to establish some consistency. He was on a 13 for 26 tear when Bobby decided to bench him so Francouer could “get some at-bats”. When Diaz got back in the line-up, he had cooled off.
Diaz will look bad for a few at-bats, and then come up and rip a double in the gap. You just have to be patient with him.
Sanchez up over 50 pitches too (53 on the 3-1 pitch)…
Daaaaang I thought he caught that
Yeah!!!! We needed that!!!!
July 20th, 20098:08 pm
For many, his best-case scenario is a defensively-limited Ron Kittle type.” (STEVE)
what I’ve been thinking. long odds that he becomes an impact player in the bigs, but he is having a good year and we can hope
CALLED IT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
