By the way, here’s a little tidbit for those of you who “doubt” about whether players get on the internet to read about what is being said and written about them: In an interview earlier today, Yunel Escobar acknowledge that while he may not speak English good enough to do interviews, he does understand English. He also said that he goes on the internet to see what is being said and written about him.

Or did I just imagine reading that?

If it aint broke, dont fix it. I dont want KJ back up here messing with the
mojo. He can come back in sept. We could have been leading the division right now if martin had been our 2b at the begining off the season. I am certain that KJ and JF were the “guys” chipper was referring to when he said “some guys last year were just content to be in the majors”. Prado wants to win and he earned that spot. Let kj stay in aaa or on the bench plucking his eyebrows, i dont care.

The Braves have the wild-card wrapped up now. The Giants ain’t got nothing for us. I mean, their bullpen gave up six runs in one inning. That will happen in each of the next three games. “Bank on it!”

Also, Escobar said that family and friends who read what is written about him tell him what they come across.

Yet, some of you accuse me of being a MORON for having the nerve to think that what is said in blogs “somehow” ends up back to them? Imagine that.

Last I heard, BC had named Prado as the starting second baseman before KJ went to the DL. We all know how stubborn BC is about changing roles once they’ve been assigned. Prado would have to go into a tremendous funk before KJ gets a chance to take his position back (assuming KJ gets back from Gwinnett).

I agree with Steve from OH, KJ is a much better bench guy than some of the folks currently on the roster.

Steve from OH…………….you cant quit with the name calling can you? I have refrained from calling anyone a moron today. Yet you wont let it go.

Kelly as batting .214 with 5 homers and 20 walks in 234 at-bats. Why would the Braves want to see ANYMORE of that crap this year? Keep him in Triple A and work on showing some CONSISTENCY. Have him play winter ball and then see how he does in Spring Training. Make him EARN his way back on the team.

However, my concern is what happens if the Braves were to tender him a contract? He could get $4-5 mil next year in salary arbitration. I would not want the Braves to risk that. Sure, he could be offered the 20% maximum cut that the collective bargaining agreement allows. However arbitrators do not always rule the right way.

Great win for the Braves. Man, I’d give my eyeteeth to see young Hanson pitch.

That said, there are a few posters on here that need to show a little balance. Hanso today: 7IP 5H 3ER. Outstanding. Kaweakami the other day 6 2/3 IP 5H 2ER, and yet there are those that constantly, constantly harp on what a “disappointment” and a “waste” his signing has been. You guys need top show a little love- the man has kept us in just about every game he’s pitched, including facing Halladay, Santana and others and coming up big. Yeah, guys dig the high cheese and serious strikeout pitchers, but c’mon.

Enough with the complaining, though. Another great win, and a resurgent offense since the All Star break. Gotta love the spark we’ve shown of late! We need to get some runs for JJJ and Javy (and Kenshin, who has the worst run support of the lot, I think) now!

Red Sox took a risk that they could afford to take on Smoltz. At the time we had Vazquez and Jurrjens in our rotation. Wren couldn’t afford to put to much money into an aging pitcher who unfortunatly becuase of injury let us down last year. Knowing his history with us it was a hard decision to make. But I understand why he did it. Didn’t want to see him go but I understood the move. Red Sox took a calculated risk and payed him more money. We at our current state could not afford to do that.
